The best part of this helmet is the story behind it. He asked for this design because he did a mistake in Indianapolis and crashed his bike and since it was his first mistake of the 2009 season he wore that helmet the next race.

I was looking for Ignazio Giunti's helmet as it was a pretty advanced design idea for 1970. The image I found on the Internet was titled "very-modern-helmet-design-for-1970".
Ah, but for the days when helmet designs were simple, and relatively fixed. I understand the FIA's decision to clamp down on changing helmets, but I feel that they could have made some concessions - like for a driver's home race. I remember that Timo Glock used to use helmets designed by kids for the German Grand Prix that would then be sold to raise money for childrens' hospitals.
speaking of, looking at those F1 helmets I'm convinced that the FIA/FOM drop its silly helmet rules and allow drivers to really express themselves as motorcycle racers have been able to.
