F1 Manager 2024 Announced for Summer 2024 Launch, With New “Create a Team” Mode

Frontier has announced that the third title in its motorsport management sim series, F1 Manager 2024, will launch this summer on PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series.

As with previous titles, players in F1 Manager 2024 will take on the role of a team principal in a Formula One team. That’s something of a poisoned chalice, as recently demonstrated by Drive to Survive favorite Guenther Steiner’s shock departure from Haas.

There they’ll need to build the team up into — or keep its place as — a front-running outfit, by developing its facilities and car, while keeping drivers and sponsors happy with results and performances. Players will also direct races, with instructions issued via each driver’s voiced race engineer.

New for 2024 is the Create A Team mode, which allows you to do all that as an 11th team on the grid of your own creation. Similar to the F1 series’ MyTeam mode, this allows players to build their own team from scratch rather than jumping into an existing outfit.

You’ll be able to customize the team according to your own tastes, hire your own drivers from both the existing driver pool and the latest new talent coming through, and negotiate your own sponsorship opportunities. It sounds like a game mode that would particularly interest Mario Andretti and Cadillac…

F1 Manager 2024 also introduces a new “mentality” system for staff — including drivers — to add further challenge to maintaining employee satisfaction, with improved AI to keep the on-track action and off-track competition closer as rival teams attempt to poach your staff.

Frontier also promises new strategic perspectives for the racing, along with changes to racing behavior both from your own drivers and their rivals and the constant specter of mechanical failure.

You can wishlist F1 Manager 2024 now on Epic and Steam for PC and the PlayStation Store, with the game priced at $/€34.99 (£29.99). A more precise release date is on its way soon too, although we’d be expecting a late-August launch as with the two predecessor titles.
