It looks like Sony have (re-)started the GT5 hype. This from the European PS Blog:
Of course not everyone’s going to be lucky enough to make it to Nurburgring this weekend and more’s the shame but not to worry, feast your eyes on the on these images and look forward to getting your turn on GT5 very soon.

There’s more news to come on Gran Turismo 5 and its going to appear here on PlayStation Blog, gran-turismo.com and Facebook so keep checking back.

From the same Blog:

It’s at this event where lucky attendees will be able to experience the latest milestone in the development of Gran Turismo 5 – a bank of interactive pods hosting the very newest Gran Turismo 5 code featuring the Nurburgring in all of its full, twisting banking, flat out glory.
This could very well be a newer version from what we have seen over and over again on Tokyo and the SLS demo.

Kaz once remarked, how he was surprised that the weather changed so quickly on the Ring, so changing weather in a 24 hour race is a certain IMO :)

Aston Martin wasn't in GTPSP. People were speculating if they'll be in GT5. Now I regret bringing up the topic.

Yeah but I think this was because they got no GT4 models from the Aston... If they implement it, they got to rebuild the GT5P model I think...

From the few accounts of reporters who tried it, it sounds like the physics of the TT demo, perhaps even better.

And "very soon" from a US blog? Fingers are crossed for a summer release.

Aston Martin was in GT4.

It was not in GTPSP for licensing reasons.

It was in GT5P from the Spec II update.

So sometime between the release of the Spec II update and the release of GTPSP, the licensing deal expired, and as rumour has it, Microsoft gained an exclusive contract.

So as of yet we have no confirmation that Aston Martin is in GT5. These advertisements on the pitwall, it's exactly the same argument as the Maserati poster at Tokyo. It is not an indication that they will be in the game.

Aston Martin has been in GT from the beginning, and i'm sure PD want to keep them in. I wouldn't worry too much.

Besides, Aston Martin's are behind their rivals in terms of performance, in general. Also, they are appalling value for money. I won't miss them.

Agreed. Although..

They look & sound awesome in real life, shame they are nothing special on the track (in GT4 at least)

I pass a V12 Vantage nearly every day on my drive to work - and every time I see it, I roll my window down and hope he floor's it!

Mmmmm V12...

It was, I'm told, an accidental side-effect of a deal for Microsoft to supply in-car computer hardware/software for the entertainment/navigation system in 2008, which meant Microsoft had a software exclusive for Aston.

However, I'm now told that Aston have provided models to PD for GT5 (these new model wouldn't have made a March release, but we know that PD hold far more accurate models than even GT5 would require from previous releases), so we should see Aston back and the inclusion of models new to the series.

We do have a GTP member who is better connected to Aston than I am (he works there), but he's unsurprisingly quite quiet on the matter

I believe we already saw a DB9 in the Christmas day Hong Kong GT5 trailer.

Indeed - but a DB9 model would be existing IP. They modelled it for GT4 and the data they collect far exceeds what GT4 could draw and what GT5 will be able to draw.

Forgetting GT4, it was already in GT5P so it isn't hard throwing it into a trailer, not sure on the licensing agreements at the time though.

 No, it is "patience people" in lolcat.

I knew that, just joking although I'm not fluent in Lolcat.;)

I don´t know, I don´t like those heavy cars like the veyron, the DBR9 (not racing version) or some other heavy cars like an big fat S-class mercedes...

Personally can't wait to drive those heavy cars as I truly love my barges, you might not prefer them but I'm sure I will not be the only one looking forward to drive a big fat S-class or similarly overweight, overengineered and over the top luxobarge if they are included.:)

And thanks Famine for clearing up the Aston-question although I presume it isn't a full confirmation yet, although certainly a positive development.

MS cannot steal the aston from GT, who says no aston in gt5, it's unacceptable and a bad joke

Actually, for about 18 months there it was reality. Acceptable or not.

Oh, and to clear up the mystery from a couple of months back, the car I was told Aston had been asked to supply was the class-winning 2007/8 Le Mans GT1 entry 009 Aston Martin DBR9.

Yes, but if MS does have some sort of deal with Aston Martin, it would include logos.
Not necessarily. Besides, GT4 had Konami logos that were on the track in real life. And that was at the time when Konami had Enthusia, which was marketed as a direct competitor to GT4. I think it is likely that Aston Martin will be in GT5, but I am realistic enough to know that a logo isn't proof when Polyphony Digital pay enough attention to detail to include real-life logos of competitors.

Plus, if your going to some exclusivity deal, would you really do it with a rather unknown company?
Huh? Which is rather unknown? James Bond's cars or the company in 90% of US homes?

EDIT: It's early and I just realized I might have missed a joke.

Hehe, I knew it was a Aston. :D

Well that's hopeful, think it's a safe bet the Toyota IQ will be in but GT5 won't be complete without the Cygnet variant by Aston.:D

DB was in GT5p so it will be in GT5. There are various type of licenses... If one have one it doesn't mean other can't have it.. And i didn't see any exclusive license deal with Aston

Astons aren't so fast but those cars are just pure car porn.

Since Aston Martin logos are on te new pics it's clear that soony has the licence for it (IMO)

You clearly missed the discussion about the MS deal with Aston and although it might be logical to assume if a brand is in Prologue it therefore must also be in the full game but this is just an assumption.
A lot can happen in 2-3 years and there's no guarantee a licence for Prologue will still be available for GT5.

Soony still has the permission to use Aston Martion logo, the rest of the licence should be in their hands too.

Yeah, it would be weird to transfer your garage from Prologue to GT5 and suddenly, your beloved Astons dissappear. That would be sad, I love the DB9 so much, it's styling is so....tasty. :yummy:

They're better when they have something tangible to talk about than when they run off on freeform delusions based on a complete absence of information...

At present, this is about one car rather than some or the whole range (which would be nice). But that's the limits of the information I'm allowed to pass on at this point. I do have a car name (so I also know the marque), but until I'm permitted to share it, I can't.

However, neither the make nor model contain a P, V or K.

Yep, Aston Martin DB9. But hopefully it's the one-77.
