Errr... they take longer to wear out.... which can be handy (read: essential) in races longer than 5 laps...

Have you done any endurance races? Race the indy 500 once with racing hards and then one with softs. How many laps before you pit with each? The exact same number for me.

Soft and hard tyres wear out at the same rate. Or even the hard tyres wear out quicker than the soft tyres as they spin more and wear out quicker, but maybe you could argue that on driving style, but if it is style it's even worse for lap times, so still makes the hard tyres never ever worth using, or the mediums, if you on hards are racing good drivers and they are on the softs you will never win, even on a 50 lap race. What happens is those drivers on hards are a lap behind with no grip.

Your driving style maybe gentle, but I cant believe you would win any races from it on hard tyres. Have you been up against drivers you know can beat you with both of you on softs, and then you change to hard and they stay on softs and you win a 10+ lap race?

Sorry mate, cant say I've organised "being up against drivers you know can beat you with both of you on softs, and then you change to hard and they stay on softs and you win a 10+ lap race".

Sometimes it depends on the type of course and type of racing it is. I'm not saying it's possible to beat superior drivers after they stay on worn softs and you pit for hards, because in a 10+ lapper, it's just not gonna happen unless they wreck.

Sometimes, controlling your speed through corners, and limiting wheelspin helps your rubber last a bit longer. Because it don't matter if you have the hardest compound possible- if you can't manage your tyres, you'll end up pitting with 3 to go and lose the whole race.

So many of those "fake" statements came true. GOOD LORD!

only things that seem to make this a fake:

- "Everything will be released sequentially, bit by bit in different patches for those on slower internet connections (each patch will be no bigger than 150Mb)."

- "As I said above, we had to import the AI system from GT4 with a few tweaks. We have a whole new system almost ready to go but Sony's requirements for 1080p/60FPS means we couldn't get it done on time. It'll be available in patch in due course."

This seems fake but they did update the AI later on.

So many of those "fake" statements would have been impossible to predict if it weren't someone from PD.
