My biggest gripe about Lamborghini's since Audi took them back (besides the LP640) is they took away the tendency of the car to hate you and try to kill you.

At one time, Lambo's were the car most likely to steal your wallet, kidnap your daughter, and burn your house down while you're sleeping.

Now it's just a funny looking Audi with a really cool engine.

 Ferraris used to be the same way. Now, they actually handle... and don't break down every other week. I think the compromises were worth it. But, yeah... if it doesn't hurt, it's not really an exotic...

Toronado
Really? The car was dead to me when they decided to make a concpet car of it. I never knew Lamborghini was owned by Ford. At least it will only be limited production, so so it might not ruin Lamborghini's reputation any more than the Gallardo has.

I kind of like the Gallardo. Supercars? Beh. Just like 1-liter bikes vs sports bikes. Sure, they're faster in a straight line, have more ponies, etcetera... but they're not as much fun to carve up a mountainside in.

Once you exceed a certain size, there's more machine there than man. I think the Gallardo is just the right size. And if they do bring out a RWD Gallardo, Lambo might finally find its mojo.

Well, maybe if they put a real engine in it. But the fact remains, their are faster cars that are both more desirable (F430), faster (Corvettte Z06) and well, both (Porsche 911 Turbo). The car is just to uninspired of a drive to really be loved by most, as well, due to it's porkiness and rediculous understeer, unhelped by the numb steering.
Oh, and *McLaren*? The 360 Challenge Stradale, which handily whooped it.

It's got a real engine. Its one handicap is the AWD... which is responsible for the aforementioned understeer and uncommunicativeness. As it is, it's good enough for a Lambo, seeing as how Lambos have never been known as corner carvers... though not exactly close to Ferrari... not yet.

True, but then again, this isn't Lamborghini's goal. While the Gallardo isn't exactly like "supercar for those who just want one" either, it's still a fun car. Sure, it isn't all those Ferrari beaters and what not, but I much prefer it over the tech-filled F430 and 599 Fiorano.

Benchmarkng the 360 CS was a little strange given the 360 CS was pretty a much a race car made street legal. Given that if the Gallardo had made a "CS" version of itself, the times may have been closer.

The Gallarado SE? I thought it didn't even touch the standard F430...?

I'd hardly called the Gallardo SE anything like Ferrari's Challenge Stradale. I guess it's hard to imitate a car based off a race car because Lamborghini doesn't officially have a Gallardo race car. Perhaps they should call Reiter....

It is surprising that they don't have a racing Gallarado, given the successes of the F430 Challenge and GT models, and the obvious successes of cars like the GT3 and Z06. Lambo probably doesn't get into it as Audi is more focused on their own stuff to begin with, as the R10 is far more important.

In 2006, lamborghini released the 40th anniversary Lamborghini Miura. This was only a concept however, and they never intended to produce a new Miura. But 40 years ago, the original Miura concept was a huge deal. It was the inspiration of every mid-engine two seater sports car in the following years. It got up to over 170mph (about 274 kilometers/hour), being the fastest road car out there. It cost around $20,000, which was very steep in the '60s ($132,876 in 2010). They only made 764 Miuras in it's 6 year run. And in 1974, it was replaced entirely by the Countach, which was replaced by the Diablo, which was replaced by the Murcielago, which was replaced by the Aventador.

So what you're telling me is that you made a thread about a 5 year old concept car that we all know about already, and it got locked because there was already a thread about it.

So a week later you finally find this thread and post the same thing that you did in your last thread, except this time your picture hotlinks don't even work. Besides that, you've posted this information in a thread that is 5 years old, just like the car, and already contains extensive discussion (7 pages worth) on the car that you're talking about. Which is five years old.

Broe.

Lamborghini shows the most famous model ever, the Miura, back to life. At the auto show in Detroit allowed the audience to the retro-model, designed by Walter de'Silva marvel.

In 1966 debuted the Lamborghini Miura. The car, designed by Gandini Macello, remains to this day the most admired model of Lamborghini. Walter de'Silva, which opened at the head of the design department, developed this concept of the Miura with a modern twist.
What Ford did earlier with the GT40, the Lamborghini Miura does. The original classic design in a modern jacket without the original is violated.
"The last two years I thought about it for redesigning the Miura," says Walter de'Silva, who for some time been general design chief at Audi, Lamborghini's parent company. Since December he has after the departure of Luc Donckerwolcke to SEAT, the charge of the Centro Stile Lamborghini. "Director Stepahn Winckemann has approved this dream come true," says the Italian designer who previously was responsible for the Alfa Romeo 156 and the Seat Altea.
Lamborghini leaves no doubt that the car goes into production sufficiently enthusiastic responses. The Miura Concept is equipped with the 6.2-liter V12 with 580 hp which is also used in the Murcielago.

This would be cool if they made a new model, not sure I like the new Lamborghini look like in the Reventon, I prefer the Gallardo and older models.
