Is Lamborghini committed to building the Miura concept?
Officially it hasn't said so, although heavy hints have suggested it will. And now, according to one story by a reliable source, comes more information suggesting the company will turn the Miura concept car into a limited edition range-topper as its answer to the Ferrari Enzo.
It'll be based on parent company Audi's R8 coupé, so it'll be mid-engined but lower, shorter and wider. Propelling it will be an uprated version of Lamborghini's 6.2-litre V12 bored out to 6.5-litres. Power will rise to 700bhp and torque to 553lb-ft, driving through all four wheels.
It might appear early in 2007 and the price is likely to be £200,000-plus. Only some 300-400 units will be made.
Unless it uses a system like the new 911 TurboOnikazeBOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWD=Dead to me before it's born.
OnikazeMy biggest gripe about Lamborghini's since Audi took them back (besides the LP640) is they took away the tendency of the car to hate you and try to kill you.
live4speedThat's not confirmed, just speculation, but I wonder why they say that it would be based on the R8, when it's based on the Murcielago which the R8 is based on. Also bear in mind, there will be a rwd Murcielago, well there alerady is, but there will be a road one too, so just becaus it's based on a car that is currently 4wd, doesn't mean it has to be 4wd too.
Really? The car was dead to me when they decided to make a concpet car of it. I never knew Lamborghini was owned by Ford. At least it will only be limited production, so so it might not ruin Lamborghini's reputation any more than the Gallardo has.OnikazeBOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*McLaren*Lamborghini isn't owned by Ford. It's owned by VAG, and the concept is just a tribute to the car that put Lamborghini on the map.
And that is debatable. Personally, if I was to buy a Lamborghini, I wouldn't want one that is essentially an Audi RS4 with the chassis turned around.*McLaren*And I don't see how the Gallardo is killing the reputation given its the main thing that's keeping Lamborghini alive at this point.
I see.ToronadoThat was sarcasm pointed at the fact that Ford can't seem to design a good, new looking car.

It's stranger that Audi is turning around and basing a car off it.
I think he meant the R8. And a power boost alone won't help the Gallardo. It is just too outclassed (and everrything else) in handling that adding more power won't help.PovertyWell I wouldnt say its based off the gallardo, but instead techniques and expertise that they acquired from making the lambo cars were used in the RS4. Gallardo's power boost is coming soon. It should make it a very tasty proposition!

At one time, Lambo's were the car most likely to steal your wallet, kidnap your daughter, and burn your house down while you're sleeping.
Now it's just a funny looking Audi with a really cool engine.

Likewise, I've never seen a review that the Gallardo has won, not even against the 360. The car was made to benchmark a car that was almost done with it's production cycle. It wasn't as good as said car, so it's no wonder that everything else it competes with is faster than it is. When crossed both with the stigma of it being the cheap Lambo and the stigma of it being a gussied up Audi, it is really nothing special.TheCrackerOut classed? - i'll grant you that the F430 is generally thought of as been a little better all round. But i've yet to see a poor or average review of it?
No, but many reports have stated they would rather have the Lamborghini.ToronadoLikewise, I've never seen a review that the Gallardo has won, not even against the 360. *McLaren*Lamborghini has expressed plans for a 700-750Bhp model for next decade that is to "restore the Lamborghini name". We can only hope they deliver this.
*McLaren*BTW, on the subject, has ANYONE ever seen the inside of this concept? I'm starting to think there isn't anything on the interior.[/FONT]
