If you don't like the gift, delete the car when you get it. Otherwise deal with it or be quiet :) the f1 would've been cooler but the fact they did anything is cool so quit bashing.

Oh, I deleted it, I don't really need two S Vettel X1's. Be quite about it, please... If everyone remained quite, all of Europe would speak german.

Alright, clearly most of you totally missed my point of the thread.

Why would I be happy to get a car I already have and 8 other colors of it? You who say I whine probably has a concentration span like a gold fish, read the whole post or atleast start, dont' come into a thread by just reading the topic.

It's nice that they gave us a free X1, but wouldn't it be cooler if they gave us the actually car he is driving? When it comes to license stuff, I don't see the problem, they already have two F1's in the game so license to use a F1 car is not a violation and they can't violate Red Bull license bla bla either, because the car they gave us is called RED BULL. So I don't see the problem, but ofcourse if it is simply that I guess a free X1 is as good as its gonna get. As I type this message I realize that only mentally stable people will read through this, but since you have come this far in this post, show some respect for other peoples opinion and understand that I don't whine, I simply stated but if that's the definition of whining, please go back to school grab a book and read more. Hell even me with no degrees at all can respect people and understand definition of things.

How many game developers do you know of, that in any way awards their consumers with stuff when something happens in real life? You say I and others have the attention span of a gold fish, yet you aparently failed to read the name of the board you created a thread in. Your thread has no business being in the Q&A board.
You created a thread solely to give your unimportant opinion about a nice, but fairly unimportant event in the game.

And so what if PD is allowed to use the Red Bull name in some context? That doesn't mean that they're allowed to create Red Bull's Formula One car.

Lets talk about the forum section I used when I made this thread, you might be right, but are you the right person to open your mouth about what other people are doing wrong, when your first post was nothing more than a violation of the Term of Use of this forum. This give you no right to tell me what I'm doing right or wrong since you started out doing wrong, by not just one post but atleast two.

It would ALSO BE NICE if we solved world hunger, ended terrorism and stopped pollution :)

What would be nice and what reality is are two completely different things. The sooner people realize that, the sooner they will stop posting stupid threads complaining about a free car and 5,000,000 credits and start appreciating GT5 for what PD WERE able to do.

It's quite simple. PD can create what ever they want, they just can't use the real name for a specific car, unless they have bought the rights to do so. Now, I don't know how much gaming companies have to pay the car developers, but I'm quite sure it's a decent amount of money. My reason for thinking that is the very high development cost of GT5. Would be surprised if licensing rights didn't have a large impact on that cost.
Keep in mind that they have to pay for each model name they want to use. It just wouldn't be a smart finiancial move by PD to go out and buy yet another license from Red Bull, just so that they can give us a free gift.

And that's the point. Why do you need to create a thread for this? If everyone created a thread whenever they had something about GT5 that they wanted to get off their chest, we would be drowning in new threads.

Yes I might have broken the "Terms of Use", but I'm getting sick and tired of people constantly complaining about unimportant things. I swear to god there's a new thread comming every day where someone complains about something new. Now, that wouldn't be a problem if it was a legit complaint, like the AI or something. But it usually isn't.

I'm loving getting a new Red Bull X1. As soon as I got my first Vettel X1, I immediately handed it over to my Bobs, and in getting me to level 40 B-Spec, and in getting one of my drivers to the peak of his career, it now has over 80k miles on it. So I'm delighted to have a showroom fresh one for my collection.
 
Yeah reality and games are two completely different things but tell me about the "The real driving simulator" under the text on the cover of Gran Turismo 5. Explain to me why EVERY game is trying to make the games more realistic. I've not mentioned the Red Bull event we got.

Next time you are thinking of asking a real life friend if you gonna go out to party, forget it since it WOULD BE NICE to do that. Think back on what you just wrote.

I haven't really done something wrong, if you get sick and tired of people "complaining" that isn't really the person who complain's problem is it? I doubt this would apply to all, but I, for one, would have preferred his racing suit too. Of course, if the suggestion in the OP was at all possible, I'd have much preferred that, and the ability to race my new Red Bull against the Ferrari F1 cars. Though I actually still prefer getting the X2010 over not getting anything at all, Bob will surely appreciate it.

Yes, I complain about people whining. Freedom of speech should never be taken for granted, nor should it be over used. But let me explain to you why I wrote my first comment like I did.

Say you and I were working at the same place, though we don't know each other. One day at the office, our boss decides to give us all a free buffet, because some sports team have won something. You then hear me complaining, saying "Meh, why couldn't we have gotten something better. Maybe a day off or something". What would you think of me then? We got something free for no real reason, yet I'm complaining. You hornestly wouldn't consider me a spoiled brat?

And again, seeing as this thread has nothing to do with the boards description, it shouldn't be here.

All I have to say is beggers can't be choosers. I mean seriously, even if Kaz could've gave us something better at least he's giving us something PERIOD. And not everybody here has a X1 in the first place. Man, people complain about anything these days. :rolleyes:
 
One thing is for sure: the X2010 stresses much my DFGT wheel, even at a FF strength of 4. After one hour of driving around with it in practice mode, my wheel started to smell like burnt plastic in addition of being quite hot to the touch.

It's very nice that Vettel won and I respect him for it. But if they would make it more special and stuff they could just given us his F1 car and not a freakin X1 that everyone will get at lvl 35 B-specc(This edited) anyways, come on..

How cool would it be to have his F1 car in this game. That would be very special to have. :)

glad i got the car...X2010 i just want to sample it...i havent played GT5 for about 4 months. I was never gona get to level 35 B Spec and im only at level 28 A spec. So getting this car is a welcomed addition...........PEople already had this car from 2 weeks into the game. And it was online in every lobby. When you limited horsepower allowed people moaned" or left"

Thing is, I don't think it's just that simple to have F1 cars in the game. You'll notice that the only F1 cars in the game are Ferraris, powered by Ferrari engines. So it's not just F1 you have to get the license from, but the manufacturer as well, and most likely the engine manufacturer, too.

What I'm saying is, while I've little doubt Red Bull would be happy to have the car in the game, the FIA might be a roadblock. Ferrari may have gotten a special dispensation just for being Ferrari. And even if you get all those licenses lined up, Renault might not allow it. After all, Red Bull showed them up pretty badly this year, using Renault engines, didn't they?

Licensing issues are tougher than most people think. It's like herding cats; you have to get LOTS of people to all sign off on every aspect of the thing, or it just can't happen.
 
Indeed,even if PD couldn't give us the RB6 or RB7.
Red Bull livery is enough or S.Vettel racing gear or coloured X2010 for the prize.. :D

But even so, i now got two X2010 Vett Version. Can't be help but to have it. :p
Still,not all people obtain the X through B-Spec or Vette challenge. If someone don't like it, just don't take it. Leave it there until it's gone.
 
You know around 700kg weight limits can keep the X2010 from being in your lobbies and still be able to race LMPs and high HP cars, because you can only add 200kg to ballast
 
Wouldn't it be awesome if we got the regular X1 (the one that you can buy at the dealership) instead of the s. Vettel version ?
 
Whilst I agree the car is stupid and unrealistic, you will find the 5mil credits from the time trial bit more useful. So for that I am thankful 👍

I would agree with you and respect your opinion and probably say but they didn't. You see I'm very different than most people on the internet. I respct other peoples point of view of things. Only because I don't agree with doesn't mean you are wrong.

I just woke up so I cba to write anything special.

Wow, as the comments come in the OP twists and turns, you did refer to the giveaway and the comments about licensing are very relevant.
I did the challenge for the money in the new car and thats that, free stuff is always cool because you can always sell it or bin it if its unsellable :)
A red bull F1 car would be awesome but is very unlikely, I would actually use my F2010/07 if I had something different to race them against.

This is gonna be pretty much the end of this thread. They are not able to give you the RB7. They can't even model it! They don't even have the license for it except Ferrari. I don't know why they have Ferrari but not the rest but they must have some excuse or something. So...

Stop acting like we are stupid!
