People having problems with sounds getting drowned out need to set audio to small or large theater. Set to large theater and the problem is non existent.. Only ''problem'' is it gets crazy loud.. to me that's no problem.

Not correct, there is no legal MOT requirement for fog lights, or any other lights for that matter on a road going car if that car is for daylight use only.
If any lights are fitted then they must work (apart from reverse lights which are not tested so therefore can not fail).

In rainy and dark conditions, then lights are a must. That foglight on the SL only appears when it's rainy, so therefore it's a fog light.

OK, weighting in for the last time on the Mercedes SL rear light debate. And I think, this time, I have hard evidence of something.

As correctly pointed by RACECAR, the standard Murc SL carried a bug from Gran Turismo 4: the foglight on the right rear tail light is always on. Yes, it is definitely a foglight and a bug on the standard car that took too long to get corrected.

But then, watching the video from RACECAR, something hit me: Gran Turismo 5 has foglights that work correctly on premium models. And RACECAR confirms that patch 2.06 corrected the foglights on the Mercedes. That's great, I say. So I get the premium SL, run it on SSR4 and, voilá, there's no foglight on the tail light.

But I'm still not convinced. And remember that, when running some premium cars on dark and/or wet conditions, extra lights are turned on (notable examples: Lancer Evo X, Audi RS6 wagon). This condition presents itself on any track with day-to-night cycle and wet condition option. So, there I go to Eiger Nordwand, set the weather to 100% rain, track 100% wet and start my run on the Premium Murc.

The results are very impressive. YES, it is a freakin foglight. YES, it WORKS. And YES, I GOT PROOF!

First, a couple of images right at the beggining of the replay.

But then, 2 seconds after the replay begins, THESE COME ON!!!

And keep in mind: yes, my game is patched and, on update 2.0, the instruments of the SL were corrected. So I didn't expect another patch on the same car.

And now, to conclude, the "pièce de résistance": video proof! Just watch...

So can we now end this discussion like... FOREVER?

You non-believers better give PD the credit for their OCD that they deserve (sometimes), now if only they could apply that level of focus to say, the NON visual aspects of their creations...

Some type of DRC setting has definitely changed in the audio side of things as others have reported the engine noise is drowned out when driving near other cars.
I don't think changing from small theatre to large theatre would solve this, if anything that should actually drown your own engine even more as the large theatre setting has a much wider and dynamic sound field so the effects which are subtle should be more emphasised. Ie, opponent cars will be even louder.

They keep cleaning up the standards, my brother was truly fooled today when he was watching my replay of my standard AMUSE S2000.

They cleaned the Supra RZ for sure. I use it daily. Reflections seem premium like.

I'm noticing more & more that little things like the headlights are having more Premium touches to them.

PD really cleaned up the Saleen S7, but they botched its sound. It really surprised me, as the tailights before 2.06 were so jagged and low-quality.

Really hoping they fix the sounds in 2.07 👍

WRONG- Don't be a dillweed and try things out. I didn't say go from small to large, I said set to small OR large.

I have only read the original post, not all 22 pages, but there seems to be four (4) cars with working headlights at the same time around your car, instead of just two before.

When I watched a night replay from La Sarthe recorded after the update, four sets of lights illuminated the ground in front of the cars. It made the pack look great! This will make night driving a little easier I think, apart from looking better.

Is it possible that those continuous updates are slowly converting standard cars into premium?

If so, it's at a snails pace. I don't think they'll be fully converted, though. Too much effort while 6 is already in development.

I would kill for a premium AE86, however.

Unannounced Changes List:
1.Sounds have definitely been changed, engine volume seems quieter now and some reports say the transmission whine with the fully customable gearbox is gone.
2.Light flares have been changed to the ones in GT Academy 2012.
3.Adjustment in some cockpit views, now is further back.
4.The lightning viewed from some cockpit views has been fixed.(Ex:Peugeot 908 HDI)
5.Save backup is now automatic.
6.Brighter standard cockpit views.

First page summary still the same one as on the first day :odd:, you're fired!

I'm pretty sure the OP is banned from the site, so how do you expect him to update the thread??

I kid, but read before you post, buddy ;-)

Explain the picture lil guy :sly:

Rain on the windscreen also looks different. Although I doubt they'd change it. Not exactly like I took 'before' pics of the rain.

And interesting that the new TDU patch has done the same as GT5 - new car sounds.

I actually killed someone when i saw that teaser with the AE and the 86 and found out the AE was "standard". For reals. :scared:

No, I doubt that's even possible considering they're modelled completely different, and besides, the Premium Jaguar XJR-9 they recently released as DLC disproves this theory as the Standard version is included as well (why make a Premium version when they could upgrade the Standard one to the same level?).
If anything, the continuous upgrading of Standard cars could perhaps indicate GT6 is still a long way ahead, assuming it'll only include Premium material there's no real reason to spend much time refurbishing old assets if it were to be released next year.

Does anyone have a current checklist of unannounced changes? That would be nice. I don't really want to read through all these pages, admittedly. :guilty:

Other unannounced changes :):

The DCC now has weather again but now they added a fake out mod. When the cars are loaded the surface % says 0 rain. This is on Monza, Le Sarthe and the Nurburgring. When you press start the track is now 100% rain and all are on racing slicks LOL. Happened to me 4 separate times so far. What an excruciatingly long drive it is around Le Sarthe much less the Nurburgring. I just reset each time. Hope they fix it in the next update.
