Just to fully understand for race 2 at Laguna, all I need is a different car than the one I used at race one, the car does not have to be from a different era.

Correct.

I guess that means I can use the car I already qualified with but I have to requalify because I misread the time.:dopey:

I've been doing a bit of testing and it looks like I will be around 350 PP once this is all said and done.

Great, when all is said and done post a time and PP. What round are you testing? 8 or 9?

As an FYI for round 9, I set that target using the 80ish Celica. Probably mid to high 300PP just as a starting reference.

Checked some cars in the garage, thinking with running one of the most famous American tracks means I should run some American cars. Might be taking a page out of Mike's book...maybe some trucks...maybe double Dodges.

For tommorrow:
Round 8.2

SagarisGTB / sagarismic / BMW 120d '04 / 375pp / 1'52.878 / CDT

It's so much more fun dealing with oversteer than understeer. :)

round #8 Week 2

aceboy127 / aceboy127 / Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept '07 / 355pp / EST

This is the only place I could see a race with a kei car and "the pig" (I mean the Brera Sky :sly:) on the same track competing. :lol: :lol:

Though, granted, the OFC-1 Concept might be a cheater kei car... what with its secret engine displacement. heh heh ;)

Go Aceboy127!! :lol:

Some really competitive racing again tonight. I would say just about everyone had more than enough fun. I really do have the utmost confidence in this group when racing in close quarters. The only real situation that got a little ugly was in race 3 on top of the cork screw. Probably 4 or 5 cars side by side and nose to tail, sort of one of those things where no one could even back out without there being an issue.

Yes, lots of fun, so much fun, actually I forgot to save the replay . LOL
Someone else will have to post pictures

That was an awesome bunch of races last night makes me want to come back for more. I know race 2 was my favorite, even though I got 3rd I was having a great battle with track and cote towards the end and trying to fend off miata was definitely a good challenge. I think I will be leaning more toward HP than weight advantage in the future, just seems more fun that way.

I did some more testing regarding round 9. When I did the original time bracket I was thinking of VCRC cars that wouldn't top out (remember no tuning way back when I did the testing). The PP level is pretty low at the target time that is currently posted and probably limits quite a bit of car choices. I would like to propose a consideration for the change in target time. Some where in the low 2.20s would give a PP range of 400-450ish, with what I think the majority around 425. There are some pretty fun cars in that range. Thoughts? Vote? Or just shut up TB and get a car going?

I would be on board with that, so long as the majority of others are too.

So quick poll

New faster target;

Slower current target;

Looking good so far. If we move forward with a target change I would propose either 2:19.500-2:20.000 or the 2:20.500-2:21.000

I think "theme weeks" would be a great idea and would make the fields more photogenic and add a fun little twist to things. American cars at Daytona/Indy/Laguna, Italian cars at Monza/Rome, British Cars, German Cars etc. Be great fun to see a field full of old and new Muscle cars at American tracks for example. With tuning now available many more cars come into play, like the old American muscle cars because you only have to throw a gearbox on it now and it can race anywhere.

I was side by side with a car so many times I lost count:crazy:. Not only were there no incidents, I don't recall anything other than a bit of incidental contact, and most of the time, no contact at all. I attribute that on my end, in large part due to having tuning available. I had full confidence in the car anywhere on the track and having tuned for neutral grip and LSD settings tuned to the tires I knew I could put the power down and not lose the back end even out on the marbles. For me anyway, the tuning makes for better racing. And with 3 winners in three races it seems to be working for everyone, whether they tune or not.

I'd be in for a little higher PP level. I think it's a natural fit on the bigger tracks. On such a big track shouldn't we have a full second range for qualifying?
