TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - ENDURO Racing Series - PRACTICE TONIGHT!

Won't be racing this weekend.

Wife invited people over for dinner, don't have a car for the race (have all three in my other account) , and I really do not like the ring at all.

Hey all, didn't want to distract anyone while in a practice race. I've got limited racing skill as is, I'm getting better, but the ring, at night, is not for me. I'll be sitting this one out...

Good Luck!

Great practice lastnight guys, very fun.
jay*doc that place at night is hard on everybody. I'm terrible on that track at night.

Things went down hill at night for me as well. I think I crashed 6-7 times on lap three. This is going to be FUN! :D

I was literally getting lost during practice. I tried different map sizes, different car views, removing some on screen info, even running with the racing line and TCS1 :dunce: and was not having any luck when the sun went down. The line is a big help, but after about 3 minutes of chasing that in the dark I was getting dizzy, like chasing a blue strobe light at night (hence my 2 mid race exoduses).

I do not know how some people can memorize that track, it's such a beast. I guess I'll have to tackle the in game Endurance Race on the Ring to get more familiar with it. :scared:

The worst part of it is that before the cold front hit we had a period of warmer weather. So its cold and there is no snow.

Tell me about it. we had 10 inches of snow a week ago, then we had a 60 degree Saturday then overnight the bottom fell out and we had some 0 degree days with no snow it sucks when its that cold and no snow.:grumpy:

the only way to learn the track is to drive/race it over and over and over again. You have to really love the track to do that though.
The Mercedes Events help too for good practice to try to gold those.

I've literally run probably 500+ laps around that track over the past 1 1/2 years because another group of guys i race with raced there all the time.

I really love the track; but even i can get bit by various corners frequently and passing can be an adventure as there are not many spots to do it (but many you 'think' you can :dopey:). And i get lost at night sometimes too if i let my mind drift for a few seconds; i realize i have no idea what corner is coming up since several areas look identical.

If you enjoy racing and doing enduro's you should come out just for the experience. Noone will mind if we lap you :mischievous: we've all been there at one time or another...

Very good advice. I would like to add that we are doing the GP/F part of the track over at Flex if you are involved in it (I don't know if you are but, just letting you know). For the The Ring it self I suggest doing the seasonal event. Go to Online A-Spec Challenge 4 and do The Ring a few times. Its all in Daylight and you will get 500000 for coming in first (even more with login bonuses)

Still it's alright if your not the best. We all have that one track that we just can't stand. But remember this, this is going to be a 2 hour race, or more like a endurance race. Its not going to be about how puts the fastest lap in. Its going to be about who stays on course the longest and is able to survive the longest. One of them slow and steady wins the race kind of thing.

Something I'd suggest for this event:

in order to give as many people as possible a chance to finish the event (which always feels great after 2 hours of driving!); I'd like to suggest that we come up with something to make that happen.
For Example: the leaders line up BEFORE crossing the line for X amount of time to give everyone on the lead lap a chance to finish. I know i hate to drive 2 hours and then run out of time so that i cant cross the line. THe risk here is that two drivers might be racing for a position on the final lap! Or that someone doesn't stop and finishes the race in the wrong order. And also that we don't get our last lap time in the books for those that are interested in those splits or setting a fast lap.

Another idea would be to set the race at 13 laps and then we can get an official 12th lap finishing time and we can all slow down and do a parade lap. We just stay in order and drive around that magnificient track waving to all the fans for the 13th lap...
downside here is if we run out of gas on the 13th lap LOL It'd be a really slow parade lap.

anyone else like any of these ideas?

I like the parade lap idea also. Because it is no fun to drive for 2 hrs and not get to finish the race. Whats everyone else's thoughts?

If I could make a suggestion, being that the track is so large and lap times are long, anyone who is a lap down should be able to come up to the lead lap (on lap 12 of 13) and then join in line with the leaders for the parade lap (lap 13). The last person 1 lap down should announce they are in line, and anyone over 1 lap down should then join the parade lap when they catch up to it on track.

This would prevent major delays at the end if anyone (me) participating is over 1 lap down.

Thoughts?

i agree Jay*Doc. if you're a lap down, you just get in line with the parade lap and end up at the back in the proper finish order. Once the parade lap is completed, i guess you have 3 minutes to do what you want at that point :) spin outs are fun.

The only downside i can see to this is that if we all calculate our stops to have fuel to get 12 laps, the parade lap will have to be run at 50MPH or whatever it lets you go when you run out of fuel. It may end up being a long, slow lap.
But honestly, i can deal with that. it's worth it to let everyone who wants to finish the race.
the parade lap might take up to 15 minutes i suppose.

or we could all agree in advance to add 12 extra liters of fuel than is needed to finish our 12 laps (basically put in what the pit crew recommends on your last pit stop to get to the end, since it is calculating based on 13 laps). it would be even for everyone as long as noone tried to take advantage of it.
Of course, trying to get barely enough fuel not to run out is part of the endurance strategy...so we'd lose that fear of running out on the final straight!!! :)

if there is any space left I would like to sign up

Absolutely, just refer to the Drivers List and choose an unused color combination and car number. Once you've done that we'll send you the PSN Turtle FR's you will need. Just accept them and you should be ready to go. Welcome to the Turtle Racing League - Enduro Racing Series! 👍

Race Recap

Division 1: Great Racing, and another great car and track combo! Not one driver finished in the same position in both races. It was very tough to have 2 good races and only martin_ky managed to do it with his 1st Place and 2nd Place finishes. DREX81 was the fastest man on the track and won Race 2, but did not finish well enough in Race 1 to take the top overall spot. micantony and Psycho-Tuber both finished with 78 points with micantony taking 3rd Place overall in the "Tie Breaker". RacingOtaku86's and FFK13 both finished with 75 points with Racingtaku86 edging out FFK13 for 5th Place in the "Tie Breaker".

Division 2: Congratulations to mbobb1969 for getting the Pole and two 1st Place finishes and his first 100 Point overall score. Congratulations mbobb1969! Johnny_Suede and Friend29 swapped 2nd Place and 3rd Place finishes in the races and both ended up with 87 points with Johnny_Suede taking 3rd Place overall with a faster lap in the "Tie Breaker". Scarecrow937 finished in 4th Place in both races for 4th Place overall. GTP_tzracer finised in 5th Place in both races for 5th Place overall. And Mwade93 finished in 6th Place in both races for 6th Place overall.

Division 3: Division 3 is very competitive and had a great turnout. Thanks, and keep it up guys! iceandspice, Infinital-NG, and Team-Kracker_7 would have all finished with 90 points in a tie with Infinital-NG winning the "Tie Breaker". However, iceandspice got the Pole and the 2 points that go with it gave him 1st Place overall. Infinital-NG took 2nd Place overall with a faster lap time in the "Tie Breaker". Burnout2C's 2 mid pack finishes landed him a 4th Place overall. CasaMofo and jaydoc_and_meech both finished with 66 Points. However, CasaMofo took 5th Place overall in the "Tie Breaker". flesxruoyxllik had very respectable Race 1, but unfortunately got disconnected in Race 2 and ended up in 7th Place overall. RockRoadKids 8th Place finish in Race 1 was good enough for an 8th Place finish overall. matthewlong2121 was interrupted during Race 1 and finished in 9th Place for 9th Place overall.
