Very nice Job, Well done, i am actually doing this today to my playseat EVO, i am buying a kevlar Bucket Seat like rseat's Evo, next week i am waiting for the 3point seatbelt to arrive and then i have to paint it black because i have the silver version which i hate and it's full of scratches :P, i like how you have inverted the center post, i did something different though, i have the CSR Elite pedals, which are significally bigger than the Playseat's pedal plate so i had to do the same thing you did with the sparco seat, i put a wood plate between the pedalplate and the pedals, BUT i mounted it "wrongly" to the right side, so the centerpost is aligned right between the clutch and the brake. i have a question though, i want to add a seat rail too, are all seat rails universal for all seats?

I'm not sure and I think mine were Sparco rails - but I'd come to think that most are universal. If you want to make sure to avoid trouble it'd be best to go with the ones suggested by your dealer, assuming you're buying the seat from a local dealer. :)

A few days ago I replaced the display in my wheel since the old one wasn't compatible with EK Simracing and newer games weren't supported by the old software anymore. The guys at SimDisplay were kind enough to offer me a huge discount in exchange for sending the old display back to them.

It's amazing but I have yet to figure out how to change the information displayed in the left / right panel. Help would be appreciated! :)

So, I finally made up my mind and purchased all the stuff needed to make my PlaySeat Alcantara awesome. Don't get me wrong, I like it but the seat isn't really great since it doesn't support my back at all and that's something most people criticize.

Yet, the metal base is pretty nifty, so no need to throw it away but rather use it to put a great bucket seat on it. The wheel should be available for pickup on Tuesday and the rim is expected to arrive around Thursday / Friday - so I'll update the post once it's going forward. All thumbnails are linked to bigger pictures, so feel free to click on them.

Current setup

- PlaySeat Alcantara
- Logitech Driving Force GT (DFGT)

Size comparison of PlaySeat Alcantara on it's base and the new bucket seat, standing on the ground

Upgrades

Budget: 900€ for the upgrades + ~80€ for screws, wood, protection pads (the ones that make stuff glide on the ground...without scratching it...what are they called, actually?) etc.
Working time: 6-8 hours

- Sparco R100 bucket seat (black/red)
- Sparco 3 point harness (red)
- Sparco K-F1 gloves (apparently they're sold out everywhere...even at Sparcos own shop - item pending)
- Thrustmaster T500 RS v5
- Thrustmaster Ferrari F1 150th Italia rim
- OMP HC-665 sliding bracket
- Senna sticker for the metal frame
- Screws, female screws, shims, a wooden plate & coating for the baseplate, if you want to make it look cool.

Put the sliding bracket together and mount it to the bucket seat

Disassemble the PlaySeat, check if the screws aren't colliding with the screws in the slider and put holes in a wooden plate (which will be the new baseplate) (42,5cm x 36,5cm). Extra points for making your mate hold the new baseplate.

Check if everything fits, so mount the bucket seat to the baseplate and screw it together. Not too much, tho - it has to be put apart again, it's a mere check if it's working smoothly.

Apply the coating to the baseplate. Keep in mind that you shouldn't do that inside but rather on your balcony or in your garden.

Drill 2 holes for the harness into the metal sideplates and one hole into the baseplate, dead center.

Put the whole thing together.

Install the new wheel

(I'll paint the piece of wood some day...maybe)

I stole some of your great modifications for my own rig update thanks for the ideas,I love the way it looks best home cockpit I've seen in ages for a good budget!!!

I did the same mod, reversing the playseat's center post, but now the wheel plate is miles away from me!?!?!? how can you reach your wheel with your hands??

There's not much space in between the seat and the center post.
Also, I'm quite tall - so that helps as well. :)

How tall are you? because i am quite tall too (1.85m), we have the same rig and still the wheel plate is really far! :P

So I thought about selling the whole thing. Let me explain.

I've moved in with my girlfriend, we're living on 20sqm right now. We plan to move but I doubt I'll use this thing much again, ever. I'm just not sure how much I can ask for. I put a lot of work and money into it and, I think, it's a precious thing. Yet, the market is obviously small.
