Very nice times Wolfe! Especially your result with the FD is impressive, I couldn't make it go around the track in less than 1'05 :embarrassed:

Thanks, when I do these things I aim for the top. :) Nice job defending classes A and B. 👍

Wolfe, nice to eventually see some competition here :}
Chapman2424, go ahead!

I fooled around with a few FWDs today, here's what I got:

Best I could pull off after 20 or so laps today

Class D - Jaguar X-Type 2.5 V6 Sport = 1'13"728
Was running 1'15 - then low 1'14 - this one was the pick of the litter today.

Cheers,

S. Chapman

Just the one lap a few laps from me tonight -

Class C

1'09"135 homeforsummer Lotus Elise 111S
1'10"472 homeforsummer Honda Integra Type R (DC2)

Class E

1'17"061 homeforsummer Abarth 131 Rally

Not too happy with it to be honest. I haven't played EPR for a bit, indeed any PS2 game, and I'm not enjoying Enthusia's handling. I'm led to believe the Integra R is one of the best handling FWD cars ever but I'm really not feeling it from the game! And the Elise is a bit too... grippy. And the Abarth, in true rally style, wanted to go sideways everywhere.

You definitely notice the understeer more on a track like Tsukuba than you do on the Nurburgring.

I might give it a try, though I haven't unlocked everything yet in the free race/time trial modes (and having issues picking the right cars and tracks to make the ones I haven't got appear) so it'll have to wait until I've unlocked it!

Eesh, and I hate the term wrong wheel drive... :ouch:

Class C

1'09"962 deki Honda Integra Type R (DC2)

more times to follow....

A few more times from me today:

Class C

1'09"176 homeforsummer Honda Integra Type R (DC2)
1'09"462 homeforsummer Honda Civic Type R (EK9)
1'10"564 homeforsummer Honda Accord Euro-R (CL7)
1'11"270 homeforsummer Honda Accord Euro-R (CL1)

Class D

1'11"770 homeforsummer Mini Cooper S

Class E

1'16"089 homeforsummer Alfa Spider Quadrifoglio Verde
1'18"021 homeforsummer Toyota Estima Hybrid
1'19"322 homeforsummer Citroen DS 23 Pallas

Who knows what I was playing at the other night with the Integra, must have just been having a bad day! Anyway, that time is more representative of it's pace I think. I wasn't overdriving it, just being smooth. It rolls more than the Civic R does but the extra speed down the straights helps with the lower lap time. The CL7 Accord almost stuck with my Integra ghost through most of the lap until the long straight and final corner and the CL1 Accord felt like the Integra but by virtue of more weight sets the slowest Type R time.

The Cooper S put in a more than respectable time for a car from the class below - it felt a bit unruly in slow corners and didn't grip as well as the Hondas in fast corners but it got pretty close to the Accord CL1's time. The Estima felt like taking a large, drunk elephant down a ski-slope such was the way it wallowed about, slid without warning and gained pace deliberately but with no discernable haste. My time for that shouldn't be too difficult to beat.

The DS felt like an Elise after the Estima so I was surprised when it put in a slower time, though it's probably a power issue. The Alfa Spider felt (and was) quicker than both, and felt more alive than any of the other cars.

I think I'm getting the hang of EPR again, it's becoming more enjoyable - just as it should be.

Actually its limits are well below 1'10, once I slightly blackflaged it on the second last corner and got 1'09"914. The lap was far from smooth and perfect.
Wolfe, I sense you have an aversion to drive FWDs :}

Anyways, got a few new times.

Class C:

Class E:

Class F:

Some good times there homeforsummer, do you use a wheel or the controller?
Im trying to get the Integra Type R DC2 into 1'08s and the EK9 Civic in low 1'09s.I find the civic alot better in cornering compared to the dc2 without much body roll but loses out in the straits due to less power.

I use the controller, never used a wheel for any length of time and don't have enough free income to buy one!

I reckon you're right though, the Integra is definitely capable of a 1'08 and ditto the Civic with a 1'09. And again, you're right about how they handle. The Integra rolls noticeably more but makes up for it on the straights. I think the Civic is geared a little better though - it lets you drive out of corners and you can change up when you're facing in a straight line again. In the Integra, the ratios are lower and I found myself having to change up whilst an inside front was still spinning out of the corner so it would bog down a little as I changed into third. With longer gearing the Integra would be quite a bit quicker I reckon.

Times:

Class D

1'13"266 homeforsummer Volkswagen Touareg
1'14"103 homeforsummer Mitsubishi Pajero Short
1'14"390 homeforsummer Nissan Elgrand
1'16"119 homeforsummer Toyota Alphard V
1'16"513 homeforsummer Chevrolet Astro

Class E

1'18"893 homeforsummer Smart ForTwo Cabrio
1'19"255 homeforsummer Mini Cooper 1275S Mk1
1'23"764 homeforsummer Mitsubishi EK-Wagon
1'24"079 homeforsummer Nissan Moco
1'26"118 homeforsummer Austin Healey Sprite Mk1

Had some good fun this afternoon doing the laps. Mixed with mild frustration on a few of the cars. I drove the class D cars first, with the most fun being the rear-drive Nissan Elgrand but the Touareg being easily the fastest. I moved onto Class E with the smart kicking things off, and by the end it proved to be the quickest and one of the easiest to put around the circuit. I could tell it was quick as I actually managed to overtake my Touareg ghost car briefly before the exit of turn one. The Sprite felt very slow after that, and the Moco and EK-Wagon closely matched and very nimble. The Mini was a nightmare to get around the circuit, no doubt hindered by it's crossply tyres. It bucked and weaved all over despite being fairly quick, and it took me ten laps to put in one that wasn't either off the pace that I thought it capable of, or black-flagged. In the end, still not as quick as the smart.

Hi guys! After a long time I'm back

Class A Ruf Ctr 1'02"335
Class B Chevrolet Corvette 1'06"137
Class C De Tomaso Pantera 1'07"843

If you need some verifaction vid, I will post it.
Bye

0"51"734 - WR2 - McLaren F1 GTR (Race Car) Enthusia seems to allow a tad more oversteer then you should be able to get away with, and i was on the edge the whole lap. I have a pic if u guys need proof, ive managed to get somewhat close to SPD (fast times there.....)

1"02"816 - WR2 -Mistubishi Lancer Rally Car ( Rally Car ) Ive been aiming at matching or beating his times, im using DFGT and this car could get another half second out of it if i could remember to brake correctly on the first corner, (which if not done right, will cause understeer)

1"08"687 - WR2 - Honda Civic Type R Newer model (EP3?) Holy crap!!! this car is fast when your not on the brakes, feels like a good FF should....

1"07"981 - WR2 - Honda Integra Type R DC2

0"50"297 - WR2 - Audi R8

1"06"055 - WR2 - Aston Martin Vanquish

My god the gears on the AM are to long, another 2 seconds are left in the rest of the car, but i lose to much speed bouncing off the rev limiter then bogging down :(

Thanks for posting your times, well done! You took the lead of both rally and race Class R categories and in Class C.

Please write which version of Audi R8 you used, 2003 or 2004.

You motivated me for some more playing, I hope others will join as well, since this thread has been dead for quite some time.
