A useful tip for those of you who don't like the pesky 2 day window that the dealerships are available. Need a bit of money?

Do driving challenges, save your Cr., and check the dealerships after every other race event until Ruf becomes available. Buy the CTR Yellowbird (and the RGT if you have the cash, fantastic car) and take the Yellowbird to a Drift race at Grand Canyon with the Open Track setting. You'll get around 25,000 drift points per lap max, and this doubles to 50,000 Cr. per lap when you exit and cash in your points.

The Yellowbird is not the easiest car to drive on gravel. It'll be sideways or trying to go sideways the whole time, but that's sort of the point of this exercise. Link a few corners together and you can bank 10,000 drift points at once.

Easy way to make 200,000 Cr. in 10 minutes and just a few laps.

I'm sure there are better cars to use, but the Yellowbird is the best I've found so far. I'm just trying different cars and seeing which are best.

As a side note, the '09 Nissan GT-R Spec V. is a devastatingly powerful and effective car on tarmac. Very uneventful to drive, but effective nontheless. Horrible on dirt.

If you dont like Drifting you can also unlock both Le Mans racetrack and the Nurb to S and do 2 laps there, will give you plenty enough credit too. Beside I love both those tracks so yeah. 2 laps at Le Mans gives you 150'000 credit and with a good car you're done in 7-8 minutes.

The Yellow Bird was among the first cars I bought, and indeed, this way is very easy to win credits. It is a very forgiving car to drift. :)

Thanks for the tip, even crappy drifters like me can rack up cash with this car and track. 👍

Great tip! I used my Mazda efini RX-7 Type RZ '93 though since I don't have the Yellowbird. It was just as effective. Thanks again!

Tip modified here... I've found it more profitable to take the Yellowbird to the Ice Arena. Just take a slow crawl around the whole course. I imagine Chamonix could bring you a boatload of money too.

8 1-minute laps completed for 87,493 points so far. Doubles to 174,986 Cr. naturally. :)

Edit: LOL, I just cashed in a 26,639 point drift on Chamonix with the Lancia Stratos. 53,278 Cr. with one lap!

I've been doing the Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway with the Pagani Zonda. 9 laps on S rank gives you 150,000cr.

Each lap is ~33 seconds so after less than 4 mins you're 150,000cr richer:-)

Me and my younger brother both got a PSP Go, so we got GT PSP for free. We played online together, and took 5 laps on High Speed Ring. After winning 5 times in a row I had gotten about 3.5 million credits

For people who are drifting noobs like me: try the Subaru Impreza WRX STi on Grand Canyon. Extremely easy to rack up points/cash. 👍

if you have two PSP, you can play ad hoc race, driving park track(big ellipse), 1st can get 150000 cr for 2 laps race, if you win the jackpot you can get 2nd's cr as well

e.g 1st 150,000 2nd 90,000
jackpot X2
then after you win, you can get 150,000X2+ 90,000X2

you can even find something to hold the cross button.

on Apricot hill when you enter S mode, yout get 150.000 per race(6laps) it takes you less then 10 min, and it's a bueatiful track.

also all s mode races give you much credits. it is not really difficult to save some...

I keep bumping into the wall in the Grand Canyon course, causing me to abruptly lose my drifting points :nervous: But eh, I suck, so that isn´t a surprise ;)

Here´s what I did, it´s cheating and dangerously boring but it works:
I choose Twin Ring Motegi West Short with any car, and after the first big curve follows the long straight. Instead of going through the winding curves after that I just cut straight to the right through the grass and dirt, taking a ridiculous shortcut and end up in first place. This way I leveled up to S Rank (no way I could have done this without cheating) and 14 laps amount to 100.000 credits.

But yeah, it´s cheap as hell, not to mention brain-rottingly boring, so probably not worth the life-sucking grind :ouch:

Drifting mode is a lot of fun, actually my favourite mode by far right now, will try out the Ice Arena. Farming points in this mode is far more satisfying and fun, and that´s what videogames are all about, amirite? 👍

I do full drift lap on Suzuka East. just keep going around and around and around and around and around...

Got the RUF dealer popping up, perfect timing ;) And wow, the Yellowbird is just sliding all over the place! I drove with a Nissan Skyline GT-R M Spec Nür 02, worked good as well, is a bit more controllable, since I kept ramming walls with the Yellowbird, but I will give it another spin since it is indeed very profitable.

Weird, it DOES feel like grinding in an RPG, but it´s addicting and fun figuring out the best cars on the best tracks ;)

How to earn 150,000 credits on 1 lap of the ring EASILY!

Buy a honda civic type R
Set your AI opponents as same manufacturer
Set your rank as S

Jobs a Goodun'

I was playing ad hoc 2 player 2 lap race at Nurburgring and got an 8X mutiplayer jackpot and won 2.4 million ::D

I've been turning open track drift laps at the Ice Arena. The Yellow Bird is a great choice, but I've been having a lot of fun with plain old American muscle cars. Just leave it in 1st gear and take it slow - around 30mph. You can get 5k points per lap easy, 10k if you work at it. Probably not the very best way to earn cash but it works... and it's a total blast!

My best so far on Chamonix with any car is the Ruf CTR Yellowbird. 31,966 points on one lap for 63,932 after cashing out.

Behind that is the Lancia Stratos for 30,502 points.

Behind that the Lotus Carlton (:D) for 26,056 points.

When you do the driving challenges if you get a gold first time do you get the money from the bronze and silver rewards as well as the gold or only the gold money?

Correct, you get 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the same time. Racked up over 2 million credits just doing driving challenges. It's definitely the fastest way to a) get a feel for the driving mechanics on the PSP version and b) build a stable of cars. Unless you want to buy the F1 models right away, then in that case it gives you a good start :)

My tactic has been Open Lap drifting on Cathedral Rocks II with the Ford Escort Rally Car, easy to control and easy to rack up points. I don't get more than about 9000 per lap on average but its an easy track and I can spend several laps doing it because its a fun one, so its easy to rack up 50,000 credits after 10 or so laps and then double it up when cashing it in.

I've found a pretty good combination if you have two PSP's... It requires som pretty expensive cars though.

If you make a ad-hoc race with the "winner" being a Audi R8 Le Mans car, and the other guy being a F2007. I've gotten a jackpot x10 and a x6 with this combination so far :)👍
