Hi guys ! Another TAC idea (mustn't be a new one though) + a car list !

After the two excellent post/polls written by WesWelker83 Favorite Group C Race Car and then Favorite Group C Race Cars part 2 and because "les 24 heures du Mans" (La Sarthe Circuit) will take place the 12th-13th of June 2010, I decided to make a list of every "Race Car" which are in Gran Turismo PSP, which could be a great opportunity to make a time attack challenge, teams could be made too...

I'm trying to learn more about this event and the cars which will compete but I have to tell you there will be mistakes in this list, hope you'll forgive me and tell me when I am wrong ! Thanks a lot !

So first and foremost, some interesting websites link about Le Mans :

Official website -in english-
Still Official website, but with pdf files for those who need to learn more about regulation and technic precisions
and then another website that explains the difference between categories in few words (LMP1-P2 / LMGT1-LMGT2)

And here is the list, I'm trying to make a LMP and LMGT list but I don't have all the cars -expensive- so it is difficult to be 100% sure of it :

04/04/2010 version.

I say for the most part you've got the list down. Now I would suggest breaking down the classes abit further as some cars have a major advatage over the others. For instance, The straight speed of the Toyota 88C-V easily overpowers the Audi R8.

This should be broken down into:

Le Mans Group C:
Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car '88
Nissan R89C Race Car '89
Nissan R92CP Race Car '92
MINOLTA Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89
Peugeot 905 Race Car '92

Le Mans GT (GT1 and LMGTP):
Chevrolet Corvette C5-R (C5) '00 (GT1)
VIPER GTS-R Team Oreca Race Car '00 (GT1)
Dodge VIPER GTS-R Team Oreca Race Car '00 (GT1)
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98 (LMGTP)

Le Mans LMP:
Audi R8 Race Car '01
Audi R8 Race Car (Audi PlayStation Team ORECA) '05
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03
BMW V12 LMR Race Car '99
Pescarolo Courage C60 - Peugeot Race Car '03
Pescarolo C60 Hybride Judd Race Car '05
Pescarolo Courage - Judd GV5 Race Car '04

I have a little confusion with the GT1 and LMGTP bit, since GT1 is for the most high end GT-racers, but LMGTP really took it to an extreme level. However, some of the cars I consider LMGTP were actually bearing "GT1" stickers at La Sarthe. Feel free to fix ;). I might help you with other categories soon if you want too ;).

Deutsche Touring Masters (German Touring Championship):
Opel Astra Touring Car (Opel Team Phoenix) '00
Vauxhall Astra Super Touring Car '00
Abt Audi TT-R Touring Car '02
Audi A4 Touring Car '04
Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car '00

Vauxhall Calibra Super Touring Car '94 (Outpaced-Old)
Opel Calibra Touring Car '94 (Outpaced-Old)
AMG Mercedes 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II Touring Car '92 (Outpaced-Old)
Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 (Outpaced-Old)

I believe most of the other touring cars are just made up by PD cars. If you want another touring car category you should include "Dream Touring car" and the JGTC cars (The Japanese touring cars, they have a JGTC in their names.)

Another great list!
Thanks ;) !

That's the plan : breaking down the classes but I still don't have those cars -the last I have to buy to have the 830- :

Audi R8 Race Car (Audi PlayStation Team ORECA) '05
BMW V12 LMR Race Car '99
Chaparral 2D Race Car '67
Chaparral 2J race Car '70
Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car '88

Pescarolo Courage - Judd GV5 Race Car '04
Pescarolo Courage C60 - Peugeot Race Car '04
Peugeot 905 Race Car '92
Toyota 7 Race Car '70

So, I'm trying to have it right but I'm a little bit ashamed of the fact taht I don't know a lot about "Le Mans"... And I'm french ! 👎;)...

This should be broken down into:

Le Mans Group C:
[...]

Le Mans GT (GT1 and LMGTP):
[...]

Le Mans LMP:
[...]

Thank you ! Your help is more than welcomed ! I am really confused too ! There is a LMGTP ? P stands for Prototype ? I really need to learn more about this... According to what is written here it looks like the difference between LMP and LMGT is this :

LMP : "The "Prototype" category refers to cars exclusively developed for competition and which meet the technical regulations of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. The performance levels and technological development make this category the headliner class in endurance."

LMGT : "The "Grand Touring" category features cars derived from models homologated for road use and which can be purchased. A minimum of 100 street legal samples must be built by the major car manufacturers and a minimum of 25 for the smaller makes. Easy identifiable by the public, the GTs deliver a top drawer level of popularity."

That's why I would put the LMGTP you put in the "Le Mans GT (GT1 and LMGTP):" :
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98 (LMGTP)
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) '99 (LMGTP)
AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car '98 (LMGTP)
BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97 (LMGTP)

with the LMP... What do you think ??? I'm having doubts with the AMG and BMW...

And, if it so, what about the "Panoz Esperante GTR-1 Race Car '98 (GT1)" ??? I wish I had this car to see its details...

Is Group C = LMP old versions ???

Opel Astra Touring Car (Opel Team Phoenix) '00

I love the "Dream Touring Car idea" 👍 ! I guessed the touring cars were referring to the DTM but I was wondering if they could compete in LM... I should check that...

About JGTC, a list was started by DrifTime here. I just corrected it a little...

I should open a thread with all those car list link... I made this one too if you want to have a look !

Thanks for everything guys ! I'm sure at the end we'll have an excellent list !

BTW I will be really busy outside this weekend so I might not have the time to check this thread or learn more about those cars, so please don't be mad at me if you ask me a question and I take two days to answer it ! Thank you.

EDIT : thanks XLStress ! Didn't see you before writting my message !

LMGTP is basically the same as LMP in terms of the rules just with closed tops. As for the Panoz Esperante, it kind of gets left behind by the other cars so despite it being a LMGTP car, its really only on par with the GTS cars. And yes, Group C cars are the older Le Mans prototypes mostly from the 80's and early 90s. Also, not sure I agree with the Toyota 7 being there as its essentially a Can-am car really.

Here's how the List should work:

LMP
Audi R8 Race Car '01
Audi R8 Race Car (Audi PlayStation Team ORECA) '05
BMW V12 LMR Race Car '99
Pescarolo Courage C60 - Peugeot Race Car '03
Pescarolo C60 Hybride Judd Race Car '05
Pescarolo Courage - Judd GV5 Race Car '04

LMGTP
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car '03
Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car '98
AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR Race Car '98
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) '99

Group C
Mazda 787B Race car '91
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car '89
Nissan R89C Race Car '89
Nissan R92CP Race Car '92
Peugeot 905 Race Car '92
Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car '88
MINOLTA Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89

Of course thats based on my observation.

This is my kinda listing haha.

Easyblast, you're right, the Group C cars are from the old LMP class as Racecar rightly stated aswell.

The Mercedes CLK GT-R, Nissan R390, McLaren F1 GT-R and the Panoz GTR-1 are GT1 class cars from when they were the fastest class at Le Mans after the Group C era. The 90's basically. Technically speaking the Bentley and the Toyota GT-One are the only LMGTP class cars in the game. Although I think its pretty safe to group them together for the most part. As Racecar was saying the Panoz and the McLaren get left behind by the other two and frequently are put in with the GTS/GT1 class of cars (Corvette C5-R, Viper GTS-R etc).

Uhum, Racecar, you left out the Jaguar from the Group Cs. Uhum. ;)

Good listing again Easyblast!

The Toyota 7 and the Chapperal 2J are Can Am cars.

Nooooo, that wasn't meant to happen :embarrassed: You know where I was going with though :P

LOL Easyblast caught the Time Attack Challenge hosting bug!!!!!

;)

Hey guys ! I moved this list -almost complete, I want to reorganise it according to transmission or HP or...- to this thread ! Could you please write on the new one -and tell me what you think ;)- ? If you see anything wrong, feel free to speak !

Have a nice day and thanks a lot !
