I have several very high end cars with 0 miles that i want to start duping and trading. Anyone care to help? Be very specific with directions...

-backup a copy of your save game from the xmb to a usb stick
-send a car to a friend or another psn account you've set up
-copy your original save game from the usb to the xmb (so your save game is back to how it was before you gifted the car)
-gift the car back to your main account (or get your friend to gift it back if that's how you've done it)

Wow, I love a contest!

As far as keeping the game save files locked, I live in a highly forested area where the power goes out or stutters/blinks about 10 times a winter. I have 1500 wins and 30,000 miles driven. All could be lost without a game save in one blink. It happened numerous times before 1.05 to other members of this forum and the Playstation forum. So you know what I think about that.

I think that it is more game-ruining to lose hundreds of hours of play, than duping is.
Heck, IMHO duping isn't game-breaking at all, since it does not give any advantage online, since having a better car does not mean you are a better driver. You just have to use restrictions.

And I know some might not like what I am going to say, but I hope that if saves get relocked, all those who thinked that we needed to relock the saves lose theirs to data corruption or due to a dead PS3. I wonder what you guys will do? Blame PD for re-locking save games, therefore making you unable to backup your save?

agree. change with the times or get left behind. I cant even trade cars anymore because people are duping x1 and trading for cars from the dealerships. So... i change with the times

I raced online the other night, some level 12 dude had an X1. It was hilarious, every corner he crashed. Worst part was he was offering a free X1 to whoever wanted one. I passed on his offer. I'm a A-spec 32 and B-spec 32. I can almost taste my hard earned X1. All you "wannabe's" keep cheating. There's a patch coming to show all you cheaters. :)

Yeah, and when your PS3 dies and you can't backup your saved data, your "hard earned X1" will go down the drain...

Here you go on 25 easy steps: :)

I did this yesterday to buy a car which I didn't have enough credits for, so I sold all possible cars, bought my very expensive car and did the trick.

1. Get a USB thumb drive.
2. Insert USB into PS3.
3. Turn on PS3.
4. Create new PS3 user.
5. On the new user create a new PSN account.
6. Start GT5 on original user.
7. Go to Game Saves on original user.
8. Copy GT5 save to USB.
10. Start GT5 on original user.
11. Buy an expensive car or use one you already have.
12. Select "Give to Friend" under car options, give the car to a friend or to new user.
13. Exit GT5 on original user.
14. Got to new user on PS3.
15. Start GT5 on new user.
16. You will receive a message that you have a gift.
17. Open gift or keep as "item".
18. Give the car back to original user or friend.
19. Exit GT5 on new user.
20. Go to original user.
21. Go to Game Saves.
22. Select USB under Game Saves.
23. Select GT5 file on USB.
24. Copy GT5 file on USB by pressing triangle then copy.
25. You have your old game save again with your money and cars.

Please enlighten us on this false information that you know to be the next patch. Please do.

I know what you mean, the X1 is the car I will not trade until I earn my own, but there are cars I don't really want but need for a single race or two which will have no use afterwards and I will not be able to sell. I really do hope a patch comes out restricting this but doubt it, until then I'll do this to buy any Chaparral 2J.

I have absolutely no problem with backing up your saved game. It's the here you go, a free X1 for the level 12 dude, dude.

You do realize the only way PD can stop people from "duping" cars is to take away the ability to backup your saved data...

I don't even get why you have to dupe cars(cheat). Are you not good enough to get those cars on your own?? Do you not have the patience and skill to get those cars?? What do you even do with the ten X1's you gotten from using this cheat??...Buy more X1's??

These threads crack me up. I still can't fathom how anyone could care less how some kid gets a cartoon car on a video game. It doesn't make them a better driver, doesn't help them in online races, and doesn't change anyone's game but their own.

People that get their unmentionables in a wad over stuff like this are just plain pathetic.

What cracks me up are people that need to cheat to get what they want. Have you ever heard of the old fashion saying? "Get what you want by earning it" I could care less at folks that cheat, honesty is a trait that makes a great man!

Really wish PD hadn't caved in and kept the save game files locked.

common guys that's cheating. Its good that they didn't make it so someone could just have everything straight away. Whats the point in doing that i'll never know. Cheating is what that is. A person should have to work to get all the goodies end of.

I dont really care about other people duping cars. In saying that I am glad that PD lifted the ability to back up my data. It would have been funny though if each time a car was gifted it would lose a little power. Imagine little Billy's horror when his X1 which has been duped more times than a blackmarket game turns up with 345 hp after an oilchange.
