I found the premium '89 Mazda Miata from the new car dealer, with CS tires, full intake/exhaust and ECU only, to be a perfect match for the competition, had a great sound and was an excellent drive.

I've started with a stock 86 Celica I had in the garage, but it's not competitive - managed 9th at Tsukuba, and 4th with the ECU/air filter/catalyst upgrades. More tweaks needed.

80's Supra. I found it too easy though, completed completely stock and won by a few seconds first try on each track.

A little disappointing really.

I won't have a chance to run this until tonight but I was thinking of starting with the Nissan 240R rally car...

... can't think what else I'd use it for!

'83 Silvia 240RS is ugly as sin but fun to drive. You have to tune it down a bit to make it competitive. I only ever saw the one I bought on the UCD I think there pretty rare but if you've got one laying around give it a go! 👍

I used the Motul Mugen Civic SI Race Car 1987, but it was way too easy.

I bought the fairlady Z from thr dealership.
no mods.

great fun and a good chellange 👍

We'll it's overpowered stock (although the PP isn't very high), but the Mitsubishi HSR-ii concept car (Licence IB silver prize car) is my car of choice. It's a sweet ride.

I used this car also, but modded it differently. I prefer to improve handling before HP, so I kept it stock, but added sports medium tires. It's a good match this way also, but you might try sports hard tires first. I also don't think it can win at Tokyo with 120 hp.

Toyota MR2 1600 super charger with oil change + catalytic converter + sports air filter + ecu = tons of fun :)

Yep, I used that one too, stock + sports mediums. It is also a good challenge. It slides around a lot more than the '89 Eunos Roadster mentioned above.

The only problem with mine is the color! Two-tone, green over beige, yuk. But that's the 80's! I wonder, if I paint it, does the two-tone stay, or will it all be one color?

I golded each challenge using the now totally engine & chassis exhausted; Honda CITY Turbo 1983, using sports soft tires, fixed sport suspension, mid turbo, chassis reinforcement, stage 1 applications, and yes, even a rear wing. Automatic. Each tire color was a different color, on the temp guage. it was funny.

Mitsubishi Pajero Rally Raid truck.
Definitely a lot of fun to drive, especially around Mt. Aso.

I'm using an old standard skyline '84

Tried a Galant VR-4 with ecu and filter but could only managed 3rd round Tsukuba. Only other car I tried was a fully modded 300ZX but that was too easy, might give the Celica 2800 a go for some sideways fun. Anyone tried it yet?

You can paint it whatever you like but, the beige will stay with it.

Painted mine yellow & it is all over - no beige! Found this car great stock with oil change & comfort softs for all events bar tokyo. (pp=370)

Used Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) ‘89 stock/oil/CS (pp=415) for Tokyo but too easy so will think again.

No. Trueno? I do actually own one for my sins! Hmmm, black and dull red...

I use the st162 with only a oil change and sport hard exept on 246 where it required sport soft and won by less then .1s

The supra and 300zx where fun aswell

surprisingly enough, that color combo in the real world is rare and somewhat sought after, as was my 88 supercharged OPM (orange pearl mica) basically red w/orange pearl, both ugly in my eyes but fun cars overall

i love my city turbo II. i have a thing for ugly low hp boxes, or just odd things altogether. im what ive seen referred to as a modaholic so everything i get i build fully. the city turbo II is a nice sleeper pp is around 550 and its fun to surprise everyone with it, i have one chrome and one gold chrome. fully built it is way overpowered for the seasonals but a great online low hp car

Used the '88 Supra from the new car dealership.

Really glad they showed both the tires and PP of the opponents. It's much easier to make challenging races now. 👍

somebody has a list of premiums i can use for the event?

known:

mx5 miata 89
supra 3.0 88
nissan 300zx fairlady

more of them?

I chose the comfort softs as they kept my cornering speed closer to that of the competition and, in doing so, allowed me to get the horsepower to a level where I wasn't getting completely left behind on the straights, assuming I was tucked into someone's draft.

Toyota Supra 3.0 Turbo A. Box stock with sports soft, still too powerful for the competition. I wish there was more than 3 80's Premiums to choose from since I prefer cockpit view. I'm going to try a standard tonight, maybe the MR2 1600 Super Charged.
