you know, cars you probably never would have driven but had to to finish a one make race or something, and end up loving it, and also any car you were itching to try and turned out to be crap.

for me: the good surprise
Chrysler Crossfire (fully modified, with a big fat wing on it)
Chaparral 2J '70 (sp?) absolutely hideous, but handles a dream, and she flies... now i gotta try the 2D ;)

bad surprise
The 24 hour endurance races and the European Events "1000 Miles"
these things make me want to go out and buy a cheating device

Good:
TVR T350C
Lister Storm (they seemed to have fixed the handling)
MGF '97 (for a cheap used car it is great at the beginning of the game)

Bad:
Cizetta (what a piece of...)
Zonda (PD didn't fix the brakes again. This car can't stop)

I will add to the list as I go.

good: NURBURGRING!!!! I didnt know it was gonna be in the game and I am lovin every second of it :)

bad: The shifting of the Cien!!! there is over a half a second pause between gears on this super car, and no way to fix it as all the drivetrain parts are non-upgradeable. A serious let-down, as its the only pretty car caddy has made in a LONG time. I was really looking forward to driving it, but I was really disappointed at this.... err... bug?

Good: The EK9, for an FF it has great handling.
Bad: Ford GT, is it me or does this thing refuse to slow down?
Ice Rallying... It's pretty hard to get good at it.

Yes the GT's brakes are not suitable for the speeds it is capable of.

Good: I was surprised by the Trucks. I thought they'd handle a lot worse then they did. They stopped pretty well too.

Bad: I can't figure out how to make them talk about my car.

yeah the trucks were really good.

good: i like the cien even with the horrible shifting, it drives good and has power.

bad: anything that you have to run on Sport tires...... i cant run any of my nice cars without de-tuning them cause you cant control them on the tires.

Is there anybody reading this who is in any way surprised that KY and his boys have apparently screwed up these two American supercars deliberately?

The anti-American bias of the developers is open and blatant.

At least they got the Cobra 427 right. That would go on my good list.

Good:

1970 240Z, lightweight 1, sports suspension, SS tires, big brakes. Dominated the 70's Japan races with it.

Tacoma X-runner. Bought it for the truck races, and it was a heck of a lot better than I thought it would be.

Bad:

'97 MR2. Got tired of trying to tune the oversteer out of it.

Option 350Z. 800hp, but the immense turbo lag makes the thing pretty much undriveable.

The NSX's in the game seem to have ridiculously high limits. As a comp, they seem to dominate the races. When driven, they do not oversteer at the limit as a rearward weight-biased car should (it is actually perfectly neutral :) ). Could this be a Japanese attepmt to boost the NSX's less than staggering sales in the US?

I need some help here, I just beat all 5 of the M-Series races (in the bmw only races) and I was supposed to win a M3 GTR but got the usual 10K credits for gold on the last of 5 races and a pat on the back..

Where the heck is my gtr???

Good: Amuse Carbon R- Handles like nothing I have driven yet, goes like stink with only a few mods.

Nurburgring and El Capitan- Awesome tracks, never get bored with these two.

Lancia Stratos- Not a Ferrari, but a Ferrari engined italian car. Very entertaining handling.

Bad: Ford GT- What a letdown, for 200,000cr I expected MUCH better behaviour out of a
modded supercar, this car is outclassed in almost every way by the much more affordable Mustang.

Autosave- worst. feature. ever. PD has some explaining to do...

A.I. - Other drivers are still dumb as bricks, they follow their line regardless of wether or not I am near them.

Engine sounds- these still suck, most cars sound very hoover-ish, but at least theres some depth, rather than the Cruisin USA -style sounds of GT3.

So far--
Good: '94 TVR Griffith 500 from the used car lot. I got mine in Crimson Starmist with tan interior. Handles good and packs a punch.
'05 Mustang GT. I thought that PD would have made this car suck, but man was I suprised.

Bad: Not a whole lot of American cars. I mean we got a lot of nice cars, but come on. I mean look at all the different versions of Skylines and Evolutions GT4 has. I think 5 or 6 types of the same year car is enough, they could have filled those spots with more European and American cars.

THE GOOD: By far the FPV GT... holy crap I love this car.

THE BAD: The OPTION Stream Z -- can we say "turbo lag"?????

THE UGLY: Cadillac Cien - This was one of the first cars I won and I still haven't driven it just because it's hideous.

i happen to like to styling of the cien :) my only problems with GT4 is the stupid autosave and the screen shake thing. thats a major problem overlooked by PD.

Good: BUICK Special '62 & all I added to it was Sport Soft (S3) tires, used it on 5 different series

Bad: That @%*&#!! Red Toyota Celica you can buy in Tuner Village from "Trial Tuning Spirit" since I bought it race it once, or twice. But for the life of me I can't get rid of it, I just love looking at it

Good: Amuse CarbonR and the Subaru Impreza Race Car, loved em both.
Bad: Autobianchi, and the Ford GT (cannot get it to stop for the life of me)

Well, I haven't got too far, but here goes.

HPA Stage 2 R32 (Volkswagon Golf Gtir32, not the nissan)
Insanely Fast, Insanely cheap. Insanely horrible handling. But dtill a laff riot.

Cien: Good lord, one race into the rallies and you win a supercar? One that can be tuned to over 100 hp? Sheesh, PD, maybe all those comments about Gt3 being too hard at first made em go too far.

have everyone forgotten that the cien is a CADILLAC. how many cadillacs have u known to have a standard transmissions and/or shift hard? KY isnt hating on americans. u do realize that car companies had to approve of the way that cars were modelled in the game dont you. im pretty sure an intense testing period took place when modelling these cars (many of u have seen the compressed video). everyone needs to get over it and just play the game. if anything, people should be complaining about the varying of available mods from one model car to the next and why identical engine blocks from one car to the next can be modded differently or come out to a different hp when completely modded.

Just baught and raced the MERCEDES SL 65 AMG (R230) '04.
It is really the first convertable that I raced. Took it to the Paris street course in special events. Man that car handled like a dream and has some of the best brakes that I have seen yet. From first drivers view, it feels like you are going to fly through the windshield when you stomp on the brakes.

My other favorite car that I have in my garage is a 98 Lotus Esprite in green, nice performing car. Hopefully will go back and do some tuning on it sometime to make it a great track car.

Only have 20 cars in my garage right now. Good thread hope everyone can keep on topic " Reports on in car games ". Will report back in another 12 hours or so.

The since of speed is amazing and the tracks are great. GT4 rocks in so many ways.

I'm more surprised at the mistake of the GT considering KY owns one.

I have to admit I thought trucks in the game was a dumb idea but there really alot more fun than i thought they would be. The only bad thing is I havent seen the Dome anywhere but as a prize for all golds on the ia license, I'll never get that . Oh and I hate when you enter a 7 point a-spec race and some silly light car leaves you 8 seconds behind at the finish, seems like the reverse of the truck thing for crazy high a-spec points, or trying b-spec in the same 7 point race and having the guy finish 5th, hmm, or maybe i suck and my driver senses it :)

GOOD: i dunno y u guys all h8 the ford gt i love it i can handle it awesome and ive gotten it upto 283 mph its my fav car it looks awesome in red with white stripes

BAD: AI holy **** sometimes its funny cuz if u sit in thier line just still they'll smack into u and ul both go spinning out also some of the graphics on the left hand side of courses

The CTS, and the XLR have available manual transmissions.

As for automatics that shifted hard, try a 67' Eldorado with the switch pitch torque converter TH425 tranny, it'll surprise you. I havent got to try an XLR automatic, but I would guess that it aint so bad. The Allante had a pretty firm shift when you had your footdown.

Caddy's were all about power back in the day. Hell they had 500 CID (8.2 litre for you metric folks) back in 1970, 30 years before the Viper did.
