45 laps, wow......

Will try my hardest to get a race in. Moving and all. but i should be able to do it :).

im gonna be able to concentrate on this series this week

finished up my week 12 WRS, and the GC cup race~

woohoo!

Guys, don't check the number of laps, check the time it takes complete...and if you do it's like the same as Round 1 :)

I know, that's just a lot of chances for error lol

Thankfully Midfield is a fairly easy track, the 'chicance' early on that you can barely take flat out in super softs is probably the hardest turn to judge

Mid-Field while not pushing is like impossible to make an error. This time I'm not getting screwed, I'm testing and running the race on multiple totally different tire sets to see if one can save some seconds here and there. Then I'll make my final strategy based on that.

uhhh... going into the pits i was about 7 car lengths behind the computer also entering the pits

and while my car is being driven by the computer into the pits, i rear end the shiet outta the stupid car that was ahead of me

he slowed down to almost a stop on the pit speed line

so does this count as AI CONTACT?
if so thats totally screwed up man

totally not my fault~

It's strange... I guess I've run Midfield Reverse more than Normal because I feel like I'm going around this track backwards.

hotboi, this isn't the WRS, gentle and occasional AI contact is allowed, provided you try to avoid them and don't use them to help you through turns etc. The only worry would be if that incurs a drive-thru penalty 👍

Unintentional contacts are tolerate, it's the stuff done on purpose that is not.

If you guys had to rate the JGTC 2005 Season up to this point how much would you give it based on a scale of 1 to 10? Stuff taken into consideration been :

  • Organization
  • Evololution
  • Rules
  • Sportmanship
  • Respect
  • Freedom Of Speech
  • Communication
  • Participation
  • Drivers Skills
  • Fun Factor

Maybe leave some comments also.

Organization - Pretty well organized although the first week you took a while to get the results up. Also, clarification about whether certain areas of the track weren't made clear during qualification. I also think your system of choosing cars wasted too much time and was prone to delay. Overall, though, you are doing a fine job, no major complaints here. 8/10

Evololution - Not sure what you mean by this, hence no rating. I'll edit this when you explain what you mean.

Rules - Just fine, although I think it adds an interesting aspect to have splits posted in the thread. 8/10

Sportmanship - Almost everyone has been friendly 9/10

Respect - Besides one poster I haven't seen any posts that were uncalled for, 9/10

Freedom Of Speech - I don't see how this is even a factor? It's not like you can stop us from saying anything, hence no rating for this.

Communication - You've done well in communicating the rules and procedures to us, 9/10

Participation - A bit lacking, I'd like to see more people join this so 7/10

Drivers Skills - The very best. 10/10

Fun Factor - The humor contained in these JGTC threads is top notch and very fun, reminds me of nighttime camp stories where everybody takes a turn. 10/10

lol you did the rating for each point one by one, was just asking for a single overall note :)

Evololution : Adjustments made on the rules, settings, making the series grow up into something even better.

Freedom Of Speech : By that I was more talking about how the things said by the drivers are taken into consideration, their opinions and comments having a big part in making this evolve.

I'll have to take off a couple points for communication now haha

I have no opinions on either, really.

Hmm...you want ratings on all of these? Okay...

Organization: 10 (awesome job so far viper)
Evolution: (not sure what you mean by this one)
Rules: 10
Sportsmanship: 10 (I think everyone is carrying themselves very well here)
Respect: 10 (see above)
Freedom of Speech: 10 (the media seem to love this series ;) )
Communication: 9
Participation: 9 (3 folks didn't submit qualy times, but life can get in the way)
Driver's Skills: 10 (I think it's awesome that the splits in qualy are so close, very tight field 👍 )
Fun Factor: 10

Hmm...I guess I'm really enjoying this. I must say since the start of round 1 the WRS has taken a serious back seat for me, I find JGTC much more enjoyable than beating my laps down with a stick until I'm dead :D

You could take that flat out? The Calsonic almost can pull it off, but you're screwed for the second part of the chicane (or is it an esses section?), way too shallow approach, so I've gotta lift off the throttle.

As for ratings, I give nearly everything a 10/10, except...

Evolution - 7/10 - Great balancing done in GT300 judging by the times, but some work still needs to be done in GT500 it seems.

Fun Factor - 8/10 - Sometimes those AI drivers really piss me off, but once I manage to weave my way through them, it's great driving.

Ran my first attempt at the race tonight. It was fast. Really fast. I couldn't believe how consistently fast my lap times were (for me anyways). My tire strategy seemed sound, although my more aggressive moments cost me 2 pit penaltied which I figure cost me 20 seconds or so. I passed everyone within the first 2 laps and never lost the lead. Great fun. Will try again and post some pics.

:odd: Umm...what chicane? There's no chicane at Midfield. Are you talking about turns 8 and 9 before the hairpin? Or maybe the esses (turns 3 and 4)? Sorry just trying to clarify :)

EDIT: I posted this in the qualy thread but maybe a bit too late, so if anyone is interested, see the attachment:

ditto

Funny- loved running this track backwards also

Eatsviper4breakfast - i would give the JGTC about a 9.7 total across the board for what you've done so far. 👍 👍 Don't think it could really get better, except more participants. And if PD would add in more cars for JGTC in GT5, now that would be awsome. :sly:

This race is going to be great fun, Though for some reason i get more tire wear on this track than Montegi :yuck:

My Supra was barely able to pull it off, I could do it about 1/2 the time. In the race I won't be able to, though.

By severely cutting the first curb, my NSX can take the first set of esses at full-throttle every time.

i can take the esses flat with supersofts, softs and even meds but thats rare. Softs and supersofts are easy.

Ive done a race, all seems to be well. Probably 10 seconds to be gained, but im fairly happy with it. I doubt its good enough for the win, but hopefully i can get a podium 👍

Would rate this about a 8.5 so far from what I have seen. Nothing is ever a perfect 10, and there is always room for improvement in anything. Agree with all the comments above on everything also.

Turns 3 and 4, I can run flat out just about 97% of the time through here in the S2K. But that was with no one around and RSS'es... will just have to see later this afternoon when I start the real fun and them AI's start interferring.
