JGTC S1 Round 2 Race + Results

3 & 4...geez I thought it was just a straight road the way my Amemiya was taking it. :sly: I was shifting in 6th right about in the middle of turn 3 going full throttle all the time.
 
All the GT300 cars should be able to take the esses flat out easily since their handling is very close to the GT500s, and they travel at lower speeds.

Just ran a full race to collect some tire data. which I will glady share..... with the other factory S2000 :)

BTW viper the LM S2000 is does not use Yokohama tires

The car has Michelin decals so I am going to go out on a limb and say the car is Michelin shod.

Very possible, since it never ran in JGTC I just shoved the same as the rest of the pack without taking the time to look at the car. Will change it no problemo in the Round 2 Race Result. :)

LOL ~ Beat me to it, when I saw this last night on the sponsers listed on the car. And umm sure. We need to take something here from the RX's and MR's :sly:
 
Just ran the race for the first time. Not quite where I want to be, but at least the race was fairly clean.

Well the S2000 LM Race Car is fictional, one of PD's creations, so it can have whatever tires you like on it :)
 
Damm, I just looked back at the racing schedule to see what's coming next and I just can't believe how good the lineup actually is! :bowdown: There's not one single round I'm not excited to start with.

R1 : Twin Ring Motegi - Road Course 4.80km
R2 : Mid-Field Raceway 3.56km
R3 : Fuji Speedway 2005 GT 4.53km
R4 : Tokyo Route 246 5.12km
R5 : Tsukuba Circuit - Wet 2.04km
R6 : Grand Valley Speedway 4.94km
R7 : Suzuka Circuit 5.81km
R8 : Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 3.60km

The guy who came out with that must be some kind of genious or something. :D

I really think Peyton should exchange those Pep Boys tires he got on sale with some proper Goodyears.

Ahhhh...Fuji GT next :trouble: Most GTP folks seem to hate this track, but I actually love it. Very high speed and then that tricky little section of switchbacks at the end :drool:

Id say as far as the ratings go, 9/10

Id say I would give just the fun factor a 10..Im having a blast with this,and it seems everyone else is too.

I would have to agree with the lineup..it is a good one,

I,myself like the Fuji GT track,like you said,its high speed,but the end is tricky,makes it that much better...hard to figure out the setup though(in GT mode).

Yeah, I'd imagine in RL racing just figuring out the correct tire pressures would be a task in itself :)

Exactly! I Mean, you have that loooong straight,but then the end,..well, pretty self-explainatory! lol

Its a good thing we dont have to do actual "setups" for this,because I think alot of us would really be struggling there,at least I would be!:sly:
 
I was having a great run. Consistent fast laps, big lead, no AI contact or leaving the track, and whoops, one ambitious mistake and that 30 laps is scrapped. Weeeee!
 
Well, this isn't the WRS, you could still finish the race and get a time. Though I understand you'd want to run it again...

Well now the michelins are good enough for the real S2000 so I think they will do the job on the fake/virtual racing car!

btw. I like fuji its just that in the GT2005 setup it feels more looks more like a parking lot than a track! :)

Certainly will be pretty hard to spin out in the grass :p

Fuji is :indiff: dont mind it but not my piece of cake.
 
Gave it a first try and all was going well until after my last pitstop when I came back right behind the NSX Castrol Mugen and while carrying way more speed than him in the corner I just rear ended his candy ass and got the penalty. :guilty: Still finished the race to have a reference time.
 
Ran my race again and improved by 40 seconds. would have been better except for a spin on LAP 45! The AI were just moving roadblocks for me. They took the wrong line through every turn. I was pleased with myself for not slamming into them. Can't wait for next week.

Viper finished 1 lap down. managed to catch most of the field at opportune times when it came to passing/lapping them

great car! great race! great fun! great series!
 
Haven't even touched this race yet ... I hope to do so today - all being well - and hope that I won't get disturbed and can put in a decent time.
 
👍 :crazy: Finally got my run in - got a time i'm happy with. AI seemed to always try to put a dent in my door every time i was passing them :yuck: but did good fast times with only a small hickup. May try again just to see if i can beat it.
 
I just knocked off 10 seconds. Shooting for fourth, unless I get time tonight to race.
 
Too bad you can't turn the difficulty up higher than 10 because my first race was pretty uneventfull after lap 2.

Perhaps we should start the AI on different tires. This way they can hang with us a bit more, although they will be pitting more often. I pit 2 or 3 times more than the AI but beat them by almost 2 laps.

WHEW!! I ALMOST submitted my time thinking deadline is an hour away on a busy day! :scared:

As far as the first lap goes yes it's pretty easy to take the lead before T1/2 but I got stuck behind a couple cars more than a few occasions and they slowed me down at the places I needed to be fast. I also screwed up my pit stretegy (I actually didn't have one) so I'll try to get another run in before deadline. 👍
