I've always said that excessive speeding on motorways or in rural areas isn't quite the heinous crime it's made out to be. But if you're in a residential or built up area, then you should really be pretty damn close to the limit.
Whilst we all know that F1 drivers are other-worldly in their abilities compared to normal mortals, I don't think it's acceptable for them to feel that the normal rules do not apply to them. As daan said, what did he think he was going to do about it?
If I'd been that worried about it, I would have told the nanny to expect an ambulance, then called the emergency services. It's what they're there for after all, and they can cope with these situations better than any of us could.
And THE ED3, I agree, but too many people cry "my child my child" as some form of justification for abdicating all common sense and rationality.
