Welcome to the interest thread for;
If you are interested;
Any Questions, interest or ideas, please feel free to post away!
1. You MUST NOT use a racing or tuner car. Anything else is OK.
2. Nitrous Oxide (that's NOS) MUST NOT be used as it is illegal in this championship.
3. YOU MAY USE ANY FORM OF TUNING AT YOUR DISPOSAL that you think will help your chances, so long as it does not conflict with any of the other rules.
4. The minimum power-to-weight ratio in this tournament is 2.300 bhp/kg. At no point during any racing season can your car be under the TWO-POINT-THREE limit. A factor that, however slightly, does affect power is the oil change ability on Gran Turismo 4. In the even that your car does slip under the TWO-POINT-THREE limit, simply add a big enough ballast to compensate. Alternatively, you can drop the power to comply with the championship rules. If you do change any settings, which affects power or weight, you MUST let us know by either directly informing us or simply including it with a submission.
5. You MAY have up to two cars per driver and six cars per team. There will be both a constructors and a drivers championship table.
6. The "SWAP 'N' CHOP RULE": This rule allows you to change cars during the course of a season. You may change your cars if:
A. After two races, you have two cars and wish to change ONE of them.
B. if you are only driving one car and wish to change it, you may do so every three races.
C. Inbetween seasons, you may change as many times into as many cars as you wish.
7. Any submissions for each round MUST be submitted to whoever STARTS the thread.
8. If you wish to register, there is a thread designed specifically for this purpose and you will find it in the short race series forum (thats this one)
9. The points system is being updated constantly to suit the numbers in this successful tournament and currently run as follows:
1st=45points
2nd=40points
3rd=36points
4th=32points
5th=28points
6th=25points
7th=22points
8th=19points
9th=16points
10th=14points
11th=12points
12th=10points
13th=8points
14th=7points
15th=6points
16th=5points
17th=4points
18th=3points
19th=2points
20th=1point
Whoever qualifies pole gets 4points extra.
10. After one of our racers has decided not to take part themselves in a few of the races, we've decided to make everyone aware that the use of B-Spec is allowed. Though you should be warned that B-Spec will be WAY off the race pace.
SO IN REVIEW:
Don't use NOS,
Don't use a racing or tuner car,
Your car cannot have a power-to-weight ratio lower than 2.300 bhp/kg
ANYTHING ELSE IS OK!!!
When attempting a qualifying session this is what you'll need to know:
1. You MUST NOT have more than two wheels off the track at any one time.
2. The rumble strip is part of the track.
3. You MUST go into a practice session to attempt your qualifying time.
4. You MUST NOT hit any walls during your fast lap.
5. You MUST save your replay incase we need to check your times. If you don't have MAX drive or any other GTplanet approved gear, then we will work something out.
6. Any times submitted outside of the given period for each round WILL NOT be counted.
7. If you break any of these rules your time will be invalid.
8. Every row of the grid will have two cars. You will recieve a time penatly of one second increments on to your total race time for every row after the front one. So, if you qualify on the third row of the grid you'll receive a two second penalty. If you qualify on the six row of the grid you'll receive a five second penalty and so on.
When Attempting a race this is what you'll need to know:
1. You can fall off of the track, but you MUST NOT gain any kind of position or time. If your car goes off outside of a gravel trap area, then slow down to 30 KPH or 18 MPH until you are back on the track.
2. You MUST NOT have serious or multiple contact with other cars on the track (that is a serious smack or bump drafting). If you do have serious or multiple contacts with a car, you MUST come to a complete stop before carrying on with your race. We understand that sometimes the CPU drive like idiots, so in that event if you feel the accident was not your fault, then you MUST carry on as if nothing had happened, even if you fall off of the track outside of a gravel trap area.
3. You MUST avoid heavy contact with walls, mild contacts like a light brush are considered minor and will be tolerated but any sort of smack with a wall and you MUST come to a complete stop before carrying on with your race. Again, if the CPU's highly intelligent system is at fault, then you MUST carry on as if nothing had happened.
4. You MUST do your race in either a practice session or a race meeting. For some unknown reason, the race meeting does not count your total time, so have a calulator at hand (curse PD!!). (It's recommended that you use the race meeting as fuel is used).
5. You MUST save your replay incase its really good and we need to steal your racing secrets!! Nah seriously if we get any outlandish times, as in the qualifications, we'll need to have some way of verifying your times.
6. Any times submitted outside the given period for each round will NOT be counted.
7. If you break any of these rules your classification will be marked with a DNF status.
This final section of the TWO-POINT-THREE rules, includes a very simple outline of how, what, where, to whom, you should submit anything to:
1. You MUST "PM" Every submission. For example, if you wish to submit a race time, or even a qualifying time, it MUST be "PM"ed.
2. Qualifying times MUST be submitted via "PM", we only need your total time and it MUST be "PM"ed.
3. Race times MUST be submitted via "PM", we only need your total time and it MUST be "PM"ed.
4. Any non-race or qualifying submissions may be made wherever you see it as most appropriate. IE - Joining the championship or updating your settings, can be made in the registration thread. Or as with the race Submissions, you can also "PM" it to either DUNDA or myself. Both of us will update you as far as possible (DUNDA checks in every second day, and I on a similar basis).
5. The closing dates are the last days you can enter, you MUST submut before 00:00 GMT the following day in order for your time to count.
6. If you wish to register, you can find out what you need to submit in the 2.3 Registration thread, which is in this section of the forums.

THE 2.3 SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
THE MOST DIVERSE CHAMPIONSHIP ON GTPLANET!! NO OTHER SINGLE CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP HAS SUCH A VARIETY OF CARS!
Welcome to the TWO-POINT-THREE Sports Car Championship! You'll be pleasantly surprised to see that quite a few cars fit into this tournament...whether they be Nissan 200SX or Aston Martin Vanquish...the number of eligable cars is well into the hundreds. They'll all be the same power to weight ratio, meaning although lighter cars will do well on the technical circuits, and heavier ones will have more BHP, thus more speed, the tournament will be quite closely contested, even with a wide variety of cars(eg a Suzuki GSX-R 4 competing with a Lotus Esprit V8, or an FPV GT, or an NSX).If you are interested;
Any Questions, interest or ideas, please feel free to post away!
GENERAL RULES
The general rules for this tournament are as follows:1. You MUST NOT use a racing or tuner car. Anything else is OK.
2. Nitrous Oxide (that's NOS) MUST NOT be used as it is illegal in this championship.
