Ok, being a Genki fan, especially GRP games, I am glad to announce another gem for fans :

The pics aren't too much to stare at yet but still... omg so much awesome! ^^ I'm a big fan of WMMT in the arcade and so I'm very interested in how this'll turn out. Too bad it's for the PS3, but if they keep churning out interesting (and region free!) stuff like F1 06 and GT5/HD along with this maybe the purchase is justifiable.

Now if they'd only port WMMT/WMMT2 to a current gen system a la Initial D Special Stage.

Looking forward to this game.
 
Interesting...I didn't know they had any intention of making another Wangan Midnight console game.

I hope this means that a new, improved arcade game is on the way (although if I recall correctly, Maximum Tune has nothing to do with Genki...which explains why it's actually a good racing game. ;) :lol: )
 
Well i have Wangan Midnight for PS2 and it's basically Tokyo Xtreme Racer. Which is great, since imo Shutokou Battle 10 is the best racing game for Xbox360 so far and I think thet SB 10 is the base for this game.

And yes, Maximum Tune is Namco afaik...

I'm pretty sure Wangan uses the TXR engine...

Either that or there are some massive coincidences :)

Also, Deap's just an ignorant fanboy, you should just give up ;)
 
So, this won't be the awesome arcade game, but something else entirely? Damn. That would be a system seller for me too.
 
Well this game doesn't mean that Namco ( Maximum Tune ), Sega ( Initial D ) and Taito ( Battle Gear ) won't release their games for the PS3. Sooner or later they will, no doubt about that ! And in the meantime, we'll have GT HD, RR7 and this game.... and a ton of other racing games ;)

Yeah there's a ver.4 of Initial D coming soon in the arcade.
 
Wow! Now I have three reasons to get a PS3! I love the whole Wangan-super-midnight-illegal racing thing, and I'm a great fan of Tokyo Xtreme Racer. 👍
 
is there a carreer mode in the ps2 version(myn arrived today and i can only use a few cars an they can't be tuned etc) yet i have raced quite a few cars with kits, intercoolers etc?
 
Do you know if a demo is to be released on the PSN?
 
is there any word on a 360 release?

i should be getting aps3 aswell(eventually) but i want this game NOW....

look's alot like import tuner challenge, i'm loving that silver supra, has a nice kit.

Hope it has incar view...

I am seriously considering getting a PS3 soon (was going to wait for GTA IV or pricedrop/bundle), I can't wait much longer and this game will see me though for a while atleast.

Only a question of time if you ask me, although slightly better sales of the PS3 hardware would probably help getting another GRP game soon.
If I had to bet I'd say first or second quarter of 2008.

No world release, but since the PS3 is REGIONCODEFREE I don't see a huge problem. Preordered mine a few weeks ago,... can't wait although Colin McRae Rally : Dirt and Forza 2 should easily kill the waiting time ;)

Could someone please tell me the main difference between "Wangan Midnight" (PS3) and "Import Tuner Challenge (X360). They are both from Genki and i saw night racing on highways on both games. So is there a difference in tuning or at the location, cars?

I'm not familiar with the mangas, i just know Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift 2 from Genki. I really like the japanese style of racing games so I'm thinking about buying a new one.

I saw some nice cockpit view screens from Import Tuner Challenge. Does Wangan Midnight have something similar? And i really do hope for an english translated Version of Wangan because I don't understand japanese language :D
