I have huge and important exams in August, that's why I had no time to participate in this thread lately.
However, here I am and I :
Just got my copy.
i've played the game about 30 min now, basically just driving the course once with a 450 hp Porsche.
My first impressions :
Graphics :
Definitivly an improvment over SB10/Import Tuner Challenge. First of all it's
1080P - for those who own a FullHD TV ( which I do

).
I wouldn't say that the cars look that much better than in ITC, but they look good enough. No Forza or GTHD demo, but nice. All the details are there, just not as many polygons as in other games I'd say.
Environments :
A lot better imo. Whereas ITC suffered from massive pop ups I didn't notice any so far. Next thing is distance. You can see buildings miles away, so it feels a lot more realistic. In past episodes it was more like : Here is the track, a few buildings on the right, a few on the left and as soon as you looked closely you realized that crossing streets ended like 100 yards next to the track and they only designed those buildings that can be seen at 200 km/h. Although you can still find some of those spots in Wangan Midnight if you search for them, it's a lot better now. They added more little buildings in the background, you see through trees, some new textures on buildings etc
So you now actually have the impression of one big united city. Very nice.
All in all it feels very organic. They added
nice water effects and instead of the black nothing of ITC you now actually realize that you driving around the Bay of Tokyo.
The
colors are also a
little more realistic, not as shiny as in ITC. Again I prefer the new look.
What is different from ITC ?
- based on an anime. That means :
- less cars.
Probably only about 10 cars. So far I spoted :
Nissan Skyline R32 + R33, Fairlady (Z32 + S30 + HGZ31), Mazda RX7
(FD3S), Toyota Supra JZA80, Ruf 911 CTR. Five hidden cars. Those
who know the anime probably also know which cars we will get

- car
sound improved a little
-
Track : Of course we have the
C1, but also the whole
Wangan part down to Yokohama. That's quite a bit, although it's
more or less just a staright highway. No Shinjuku or Shibuya line though,
at least no afaik.
-
No interior view, but you can see the driver inside ( changing gears
etc )
I didn't touch the story mode so far, so I can't say anything about it. Same with the online mode.
Any questions ? Feel free to ask.
