how do you get platinum medals?

ive finished all the storys open to me with silver atleast on everything apart from the ruf(just finished shoot). have 9 peoples story things unlocked and 8 of them done, just the ruf to go. Just unlocked top speed run and have done the 1st 2 levels of survival mode. The flat r33 level 3 is at 1177hp so you no were my cards are sort of at(level 7 eng, level 3 boost etc)
 
Well, big big dig up on this, but I'm going to pick this up cheap on eBay, never tried a game like this before, but I like the videos I've seen and highway racing on games like Midnight Club, so we'll see.

Are the menus going to be easy to negotiate as I am getting the Japanese version.

Yes they are, since most of the text is English! The (for winning important) tuner cards are all in Japanese though, but the list in godzilla_GTR's can help you out.

Great, i'm sure i read it was in english somewhere, but glad to have it confirmed. I'm pretty excited about trying something new, will it be easy to change the controls how i like if possible? I've made my order so it should be here this week.
 
Update: It took longer then expect and it should arrive to me some time during next week. Really looking forward to it.
 
Hi all and sorry about reviving an old thread. But I'm looking to buy this game and which version do you recommend for me to get? I can't read Japanese so is there any version with English writing? I'm not too fussed about online play as no-one would really play the game anymore anyway.

My version never arrived, so I can't give alot of help. But one of the versions has an english manual i hear, not sure which.

The "Asian Version" has an English manual enclosed, but the game itself stays Japanese.
