Hello turtles!!! Im in a dilemma  A friend of a friend of mine is selling a G27 really cheap (Im in Argentina and idk how much it costs in the US, lets say that he's selling it at half the price). So... should I buy a PS4 or the 27? I always wanted a wheel, but I'll have to wait for the PS4, and its probably that it wont be compatible with gt7 :scared: Thanks anyway

Yeah, that's what we need, more distractions for PD programmers to tinker with rather than focussing on making the basic functionality work better in Gran Turismo. I felt this way about them including 3D with GT5. Waste of time for all but .1% of your users!!!

I think it would be amazing to be able to actually turn my head left or right and look out the window... glance up at the rear-view mirror, etc... also, this was just announced by Sony and for PS4... it won't exist for a while and by then it'll be integrated right in (theoretically)... I agree, fix GT6 disconnects and, you know, deliver the stuff we were promised... but I would not complain if this was implemented into GT7 on PS4. Eventually, all driving games will be doing it (iRacing has Oculus Rift functionality, apparently) so GT will have to or be left behind.

If you like playing many more games then GT you have to go ps4. If Gt is what you play most of the time I would say get the wheel and build or buy a good stand.

what time practice room open?

In thirty minutes.

Love my G27... still getting used to the rig, though. There seems to be a fine line between driving comfortably or rapidly building knee pain.

Speaking of upgrades, my co-worker bought a 27" monitor last week and decided he didn't want to keep it... I offered to give him some cash and my 22" in trade and he agreed. Upgrade!

Edit: although, this isn't as cool as what could be available for GT7 http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2014/03/sony-reveals-virtual-reality-headset-plans-at-gdc-panel/
You'll bee glad you got the 27 inch. I've got a 37 inch mounted to my rig and it's just the right size for me. Not to big not to small.

Turtle Racing League - Race Night Recap

Division 1: With a combined D1/D2 room, there was exciting and close racing throughout the evening. GTP_K1utch humiliated the field by taking the pole, running a sensational 1:18 lap time in the race, and lapping up to 3rd place by the end. There was no contest. gr8racrs, despite admitting to not having a set strategy for the race, put in some very fast laps near the end the race after a late pit stop and passed lightningdf22b1 on the final lap to take 2nd place. lightningdf22b1 ran a solid, consistent race to take home his bronze finish. DolphDrago had a horrid start to the race and was very inconsistent in the first stint of the race. He was much more consistent and faster when keeping the car on track throughout the rest of the race, using a 3 stop strategy, and finished 4th overall. LeoStrop was the only other driver to even put down a race lap time of under 1:20, and ran a strong 2nd for almost the entire race. Unfortunately, he ran the tires off of his car late in the race and had to make an extra pit stop for some fresh rubber. But he came back quickly in the final laps, picking off a few drivers to finish 5th. GTMX-HECTO1 ran a 4 pit stop strategy, and had a 6th place to show for it among the D1 drivers. Finally, rounding out the field was RacingOtaku86, who has shown some frustration in the last few weeks. (Hang in there, buddy!) Overall, it was a long, hard fought race with some great battles. I have a feeling many of the Turtles were worn out by the end and happy to see the checkered flag. Congratulations to GTP_K1utch on his win!

Division 2: Once again the Turtles of D2 had to combine with D1 to make a full grid and for some very exciting racing. Severn got the pole followed closely by ThethirdRoy. From the jump you clould see that this was going to be very close between these two vetern's. The entire pack kept it close for the first couple of laps until they sorted themselves out and settled in for what would be a long race. Talking with the driver's before the race it was clear that it would be all about strategy, with tire and fuel management. With a little difficulty on cold tires johnsom slipped to the back of the pack but knowing this would be a long race steadily held the pace until his abrupt end after his engine blew on lap 44. BigMoMo101 was having a great battle with liampage123 until misfortune also hit him on lap 23 when his engine suddenly let go. We were left with only four racers to battle it out for the win. Everyone was nervous as they all use the same engine manufacturer of Polyphony Digital, and with reliablity issues at the forefront all were wondering if their engines would hold out for the duration of the race. Unfortunately liampage had a piston-rod let go and suffered the same fate as BigMoMo101 and johnsom and had to retire on lap 50. SpeedDeemin had a few too many mishaps on track and couldn't catch the front runners of ThethirdRoy and GTP-Severn. Those two had an epic battle for top spot throughout the entire race until the final lap when ThethirdRoy gambled and miscalculated his fuel and ended up not finishing the race as he ran out. Such a shame after what was clearly a great run for him. Congratulations to GTP-Severn on his top podium finish. The Turtles now pack up and head out to the Twin Ring Motegi Road Course in Japan and clearly with the DNF's some redemption for some.

Division 3: Since it's better than nothing, here's randy1122's account of the race: randy1122 jumped out out to a 14 sec lead by lap 15. Wore his fronts out. They were on 4 and 5. Pitted on lap 20 his lead had dropped to 6 seconds by then. He played catch up the whole rest of the race wearing his front tires out each time. He ran a fools race. He deserved to finish last for his inexperience and foolishness in long races. Lesson learned.

Awesome Job on The Results Dolph! Thanks Man! 👍

No problem. Since I'm kinda into stats and results and that type of nerdy stuff, it wasn't too bad. I actually kind of enjoy doing this stuff, just not a bunch of it at one time or it can get really confusing.

I will open up a room tomorrow for the banner shot if anyone is interested in joining

About what time were you thinking about? For me, personally, it'd have to be a little bit after 9. But if you can get more people in the room earlier, then it's no problem.

I was thinking around there

I can give you my account of div3 race.

I race with much better racers than myself.
I feel privileged to be able to run with them each time I race.

Appetizers included!

Edit:
So, i realized at Practice last night that i had been running my Nurb time trial practices in the RX-7 with the wrong Tire compound. I could have sworn the Motegi event was set on RH tires. DOH!
Although at Motegi, it didn't seem to matter much, both compounds are so slippery in this combo, it's a chore just to stay straight. And we're starting with cold tires, at midnight, in the dark?

I've noticed the rumble strips are really slick here. I was much faster and able to get back to full throttle quicker just staying off the rumble strips.

I'm still using an SD tv. :c

Ouch! That reminds me, my friends and I must have been nuts to play against each other in Perfect Dark on N64....on a 17'' tube! :scared:

Shameless weekly (usually) plug for the FLEX Series race tomorrow evening. Join us as we take the 2000 Ford Falcon around the legendary Bathurst circuit in the land down under for a 40 lap enduro. Hope to see you there!
