2 Primary Grid Spots remain, and 6 reserve drivers are still needed. Select the link below for details and sign up instructions before the remaining spots are gone.
SNAIL- Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge (Monthly, Friday Night Race Series at 9:30pm EST)

I have read the first post and would like to join.

Google search for forum to vent about the lousy penalty system and S. American "Drivers" on GT Sport Daily races...I wish I had known about this sooner.

@Notorious 22
Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add CoachMK21, JLBowler, nmcp1, zer05ive, Rednose58, MajorBlixem & SAMHAIN85 as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL :cheers:

It's finally happening. After 6 years of racing competitively on the pad, I'm finally making the switch to a wheel.

Turns out, earning the respect of others through clean, hard racing really pays off. A couple of months back, before I joined SNAIL, I ran in an endurance racing league and fought for the championship against someone by the username of OneEyedLogo (he beat me by a very close margin). I continued to find and race OneEyedLogo in the FIA races, and a couple of weeks ago he was kind enough to sell me his Thrustmaster T300RS for the relatively cheap price of $200. Today, after getting a steering wheel stand from GT Omega Racing, I was able to set it up properly. Tonight's mock 2.4-hour Le Mans race was a test run, and, while I'm a little off my usual pace at the moment, I can definitely see myself getting used to this. This weekend's races and the FIA races in a couple of weeks time should be interesting using the wheel.

That's one of the benefits of building positive relationships with others. Amazing things could happen if you run into the right people.

Where in the OLR does it explain about testing cars on various tracks? I was thinking about using Sarthe this week for prize A since its the 24hr of lemons and there is the event some of the snails are running. In my testing the viper would hit around 163-164mph and although I wasn't bouncing off the limiter it had reached the top speed. We tested this (thanks @stelephant) both in and out of the draft. I could not find in the ORL where it talks about this scenario. Can anyone point me where I can find a bit of clarification on terminal velocity Vs rev limiter top end when choosing tracks?

It's not in the OLR. It's mentioned in the results post that @zer05ive posts every week. It states:

What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

PD recently made a change to the way cars act when they reach the rev limiter. In the past, the speed would bounce down a couple of MPH. After the change, the speed will just hold once the rev limiter is reached.

Thank you much. I hadn't seen that change. Makes so much more sense why I wasn't seeing the mph fluctuate like I had seen at various times in the past.

Stuff in the OLR is like SOP’s at a job. Gotta write an SOP for how to take a piss.

I’m just waiting on someone to say, we should add that to the OLR.

If you'd even seen the restroom for our production guys, you would understand why there needs to be an SOP for how to take a piss.

Step one: Hit the bowl. If you can't hit the bowl, sit down.

Don't get me started on an SOP for taking a dump.:rolleyes:

SIT Down?......:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I belive you will be even faster once you adjust to your new wheel. and also you will have more fun.

So, as I understand it, racing at the Nordscheife (or the 24hr layout) is not allowed because the qualifying would take too long. Couldn’t we qualify on the GP layout and just manually input the starting grid for the larger track? The stewards have done manual grid placements before and they don’t take too long as long as you know who qualified where.

Or am I just wasting my breath?

It was last discussed here. Not something that is going to happen as in addition to having to qualify on a different track, you're looking at a one lap race. Suggestions were given for running the longer tracks in the subsequent posts.

So not only was it discussed before, I also wasted my breath bringing it up again. Sorry to waste everyone’s time again.

But, by bringing it up it gives the chance to remind everyone that we have openings on Friday nights for these types of events that don't necessarily have a weekly home. I'll say it again here just like I said the last time it was brought up. I would imagine that a weekly race at the ring would draw a significant amount of interest.
