Has anyone else seen this:

Shell Motorsport

Inside is a virtual tour of the Scuderia Ferrari garage - which will lead to a close-up of the Ferrari F1 steering wheel. And a video clip of Vettel driving while utilizing the various buttons - which are described along the way. Hmmmm, and I just have trouble staying on track, much less manipulating all those buttons, knobs, etc. Amazingly talented are those drivers.

If this is "Old News", forgive me ........ I'm usually late to the party.

They can adjust the circumference of the tire while driving? I imagine there is an air pump of some sort and a release valve to control tire pressure. Crazy engineering in these cars.

They're not allowed control the tyre pressures during the race. I think it's more that they can adjust the cars aerodynamic settings to take into account the reduction in tyre circumference due to natural pressure losses and rubber degradation during the race. Having said that, the relevant button that's pointed to in that video is marked TRQ so it is actually the torque control button which allows the driver reduce or increase the torque output via the engine management system.

This is Sauber's wheel for 2015:

Clearly, the cars are too easy to drive these days...

Perhaps this link would have been better: www.shell.com/SFU
After you get into the garage, pan over to the cockpit on the right ....... click around (?) and you will find a way to click on the steering wheel. That will lead you to the video, etc.
(I think) You younger folks are much better at this stuff - so feel free to correct me as needed.
Sorry

Huh, so through all of the F1 chat of the yesterday, I wondered to myself how an f1 car might handle some rally racing. Low and behold, the following video appeared in my FB feed today. The first half of the video shows that an F1 car, really probably couldn't last a full rally event, maybe not even a stage. But the second half is the redbull F1 car at Circuit of the Americas, before they paved it. Really gives a good idea of just how strong the aerodynamic forces are on that car. Enjoy!

hello, I have been racing with the pCARS division SNAILS for a lil while now and was wondering if I could get in with the real series

@VonSlamStone

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Thanks to @Mike Lobban @chatva and @JamCar0ne for coming to race karts last night. I hope you guys had fun too. :)

Very sorry that I could not be there.
Promised the Crew Chief an evening together.
Always need to honor those commitments, Gentlemen.
Much better than learning the hard way what happens when you don't.

And they just took it to a Drive-thru Car Wash in Austin then headed for the Brazilian Gran Prix. Amazing isn't it?
