So I've been vilified for asking for a timely manner to the Prize Selection Process? I can understand how some of the snail members would think I'm just being a pushy, witchy person, but there is a reason why I was asking for and even pushing for a prize selection to be made.

I have thoroughly read the SNAIL OLR, Policies, and Guidelines, very carefully, regarding Section 5.2 - Prize. There is no mention of when prizes are to be selected. Why not? The powers that be have taken the time to go through a lot of the "what if" scenarios, but there is currently a potential issue of abuse of a prize winner. I wasn't going to into detail about it, but since I'm a "minority portion of the snail members, and thus I must not have any real valid reason for being impatient with the prize selection, I will expose the potential exploit that is currently written in the rules and is just waiting to be used. I'm hopeful that by exposing it, the leaders of SNAILS will fix this issue before it's allowed to be used.

This is not the first time I have pointed out a flaw in the rules of SNAILS. The first time I tried to point out to ZER05IVE and others of a major flaw in the point system rules of SNAILS. The Old-School members know what I'm talking about. I asked and begged the rules for the point system to be changed but was told the 'flaw' would Never happen. Oddly enough, it happened shortly afterward. The flaw in the point system was then realized when it happened and seriously changed the point structure of the pointed rewarded because the pointed was based on how many drivers were in a Race at the finish rather than the number to racers that started the race. The more drivers in a race, the more points you would earn. There was a major issue with connectivity and over half the racers were disconnected from the lobby, and robbed the remaining racers of pointed needed to win the season. That event prompted an immediate change in the point system that is still used to this day. I had pointed out a flaw but I was told to forget about it. I was 100% right about the flaw, but no one wanted to believe it would ever happen - until it did.

Skip ahead to recent events - my post regarding the time frame for prize selection. I have been asking for a timely manner for prize selection for a good reason, but yet, I've been made out to be the pushy, impatient witch. There is potential for abuse and thus an unfair advantage to the prize winner when we have a break in the normal SNAIL Racing events on Sundays. A framework from after the race & prize winner announcement would be the best way to prevent the potential for abuse. I'm not saying RacingOtaku86 was planning to do this - I'm saying the potential is there for someone to take advantage of this.

* The way JLBolwer and others have stated the time is currently set up, the prize winner has to make the selection by the Wednesday before the race. This is no big deal if we race every week. But when we have a break (like we did this week), then the prize winner has an extra week to do whatever they would like. The prize winner could test more potential combos than they normally would - or worse yet, the prize winner could already know what combo they are going to pick and practice without anyone else knowing the selection that is going to be made. This gives the prize winner a potential advantage and would place the rest of the SNAIL members at a disadvantage.
* I suggest we force a time deadline for prize winners to make their selections known from after the race & prize winners are announced (the Wednesday following the race, period). This would keep SNAIL members up-to-date with all prize selections in a timely manner, and in the event of a break from racing, due to holidays, then everyone has the information and would be able to practice with no advantage by any one person or group of persons.
* If the timeframe to select a prize has expired, then that prize winner should be considered MIA and an alternative method to making a selection should be performed immediately. (I'm assuming there are alternative means to make a selection?)

I realize this potential advantage abuse is limited in nature, but the potential is there. If you read the SNAIL OLR, Policies, and Guidelines it's clear when you consider the times we have breaks in the racing schedule.

To the leaders of SNAIL:
Now that this exploit is public, this should force you to take actions to patch the hole in the rules regarding the lack of a Timeframe relating to Prize Selections.
Hopefully, you will not let history repeat itselg, again by waiting until this exploit to be used, like you guys waited until the Point-System failed like I told you it would and it did.

@RacingOtaku86 - I never wanted you to feel like I was picking on you. I was trying to get you to make a selection to avoid the potential issue I found in the rules regarding Prizes. I have no issue with you making a prize selection - I never have. I'm hopeful you now see why I was pushing for a selection to be made.

I don’t want to argue over this anymore.

I’m more concerned about the divisional placement for us in September.

I don't believe anyone implied that you or anyone else was an "I've been made out to be the pushy, impatient witch"I guess that most of us haven't seen this as being an issue.

Wow everyone, I truly am sorry and regret for even bringing this subject up last Sunday.
Moving forward, i’ll Just keep my mouth shut. I didn’t think a simple question like this would bring on so much controversy. That was not my intent.
Apologies to all Snails....
Trust me buddy. You have nothing to apologize for. I think is a case of making a mountain out of a molehill

My God the Amuse is a handful. I'm usually not too bad with tricky cars but I'm gonna need 500 laps in this thing before it stops trying to kill me at every corner.

I'm sure it would be a great ride once the front end has been stiffened up a bit.
I truly love that combo for the challenge it offers.

Never thought I could enjoy Seaside 2 so much

Its not the suspension balance really, its the engine braking effect, this car and the F1 its way too high. If you never lift off the brakes its pretty good.
Facts @ConnorWolf

I ride brakes all the way through the entry of the bus stop.
Its the only way to keep in control.

So much extra patience & precise throttle control required to tame this beast. It Handles nothing like its GT6 counterpart imo.

Heres a clip i saved long ago. Maybe one of only a couple previous times this car was featured in a snail combo.
From wayback when we had time trial leaderboards posted in the thread every week.

I actually enjoy the challenge as well. Was able to run a few laps in the 45s, but not very consistently.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. But I guess sometimes it will just kill you. Bears, sharks, and the Amuse; they will kill you.

45's are very fast laps.

Took a long time for me to break out from them when we were testing with @RacingOtaku86 last week.

I absolutely love tough combos, but this has proven to be the mother of all challenging combos [for me personally]. I could run hundreds and hundreds of laps here to get it down and then assuredly choke [miserably] on Sunday. So I have resolved to use the DS4 controller for this particular combo and not sweat the outcome of the actual races on Sunday. D2 rarely if ever turns into a race of attrition but my only choice is to try to spin 1 less time than all the others who can’t drive this f@$&”$g beast.

My guess is I will be placed in D2 when I look at who is where and where I think I rank amongst the lot. I haven’t even tried this combo yet but if it’s as challenging as the F1 car as has been said than I am in big trouble. I got lapped in the FIA race with the F1 car and couldn’t string one trouble free lap together. These demanding cars give me major headaches. So I might be easy Pickens for you to beat Sunday. What a time to come back, at least I have the little Toyota as an opportunity to have a good race.

The F1 car is easy to drive

Another update coming

“As there’s very little by way of fanfare, this doesn’t seem like it will be a major update. Instead, it’s more probable that this is a small patch intended to address some issues that Polyphony Digital has become aware of. Still, we said that before v1.25 as well, and that turned out to contain the Red Bull Ring and the Shelby Cobra Daytona…”

Perhaps they intend on fixing the rolling start along with a myriad of other issues

FIFY - I would say that driving the Mazda Miata is “easy” relative to any car in the game.

:lol: I was just comparing it with the Amusing one. It took me about a 100 laps of practice with the F1 before I got it right - not fast - right. Break points, don't touch the sausage curbs, lift slightly when you go over a curb, lift QUICKLY if you detect over steer out of the turn...(Though, I got a bump from behind to help my recovery....) and do it patiently every time. The moment you push too hard......

I guess the same approach will be needed for the S2000

Season 3 of the SNAIL Endurance Series starts on Tuesday (9/11). We currently have 14 "official" drivers, but we're always looking to grow. If you think you'll be able to make 6 of the 8 races this season, please head over to our dedicated thread and say so - I'll add you as an official driver.

As an added bonus this season, we'll be rewarding each division winner (we currently have two divisions) with a $100 Amazon gift card.

I can’t get the hang of that Amuse car. Amusing it is not. I’ll be riding around in the back for combo 3 trying to keep it on the track
A lot of people will be thinking the same thing. Difficult combos like this are the best oppourtunity to put in just a little bit more practice than the next guy, and turn it into a big gap on Sunday. Sometimes control is more important than the fastest line.

@ConnorWolf, you are correct. Sometimes the Snail beats the hare. Think I’ll be me a Snail ...
