I'm just so so so sad that I'm missing out. This would be a most favorite for me, for sure. Maybe we can do a repeat as suggested. But I don't think I'll be back real soon. Caught up in the bureaucracy of medical insurance approvals. I have five herniated discs.:ouch: Can't have surgery until I've had multiple steroid injections. Injections take a couple weeks to get approved, then a couple weeks to get scheduled. Just waiting in pain.

I'm so excited for you guys this Monday though. An absolute treat to run this combo right after the actual race. Steve and Mike making the league awesome, as usual.👍 Of course I still miss you guys, and I'm hopeful I'll be able to return eventually. Take care all, I'm sure I'll watch some of the race on Mike's live stream. And I'll keep lurking in the thread to stay up to date. Miss y'all.

@yogi bear: There’s no issue with either experience as long as you have fun and get out on the track. Hell, I’d race shopping carts if others would too. I’d like to try a pro truck/stadium truck and a rally car someday. I didn’t buy the open seater up in Denver because I didn’t fit in it. And the Formula car at COTA damn near killed me because your shoulders have to be below to cockpit coping so they can put the cowling on (it’s that white “U” shaped piece in the picture). I was folded in half like a slice of New York Pizza. At least the R8 should be roomier. I’m just kind of nervous about driving it in the rain. I guess it’ll be hero or zero time.


Off topic: @RobbiefromBC, can I pm you with a question about the pool at my new house, re: getting it replastered and the best options?

Yeah, size matters. They had to use a bar to lever me through the window, so I don't think I would even fit in a formula car. Was getting a little claustrophobic until I finally popped through. Now I know how Winnie felt.
But I bet Winnie pooh couldn't drive that fast. The guy was a little surprised that I got within .5 seconds of his lap time. He said are you sure you've never driven a race car before?.. I explained p2 cars and my rig.
I overheard him tell his buddy " I never expected that old guy to go that fast!. If that's what those racing rigs can do, I should get one"
Oh yeah, it took the two of them to pull me back though the window.

Yup, got up fairly early and saw there were still two or three posts to go but had to go out and get stuff done outside. Figured it being Sunday I would be good until coming back in for lunch, but nope, not only did bear steal the 100th TOPP, but he double posted as well. Bad bear, we are going to have to figure out a punishment for this. Maybe make him drive a Clio in both races tomorrow night?

Happy Father’s Day to all you motherfu.... lol. Spent the day at COTA in R8s, absolutely incredible experience. I thought they were going to dumb it down but they actually let us get on the throttle pretty good. I had the second fastest lap 4/100ths right behind a German guy who races over there, so I was pretty happy with that (11 in my group, 4 actively race cars and 2 others race shifter karts). I’ll post a few pics and post some video later after I figure out how to edit out the dead time when we were cooling the cars down. Turn 1 is an absolute butt-clencher in a GT car. The Formula was point-and-shoot, in the R8 you have to focus.

Track - Vintage Le Mans

We will run two 40 minute races, but will switch cars because they are both so awesome! Nice clear sunny summer days. Mandatory Pit. We will run a 20 minute qualifier for race 2 immediately following race 1.
The cars are very close, and being the same class, the grid will be mixed just like last Monday.

Max starting fuel will be 50 liters for both cars. Porsche isn't quite as thirsty but close.

Races start 06:00 - 20x time progression.

Race 1 - Grp A - Porsche 917K, Grp B - Ferrari 512S
Race 2 - Grp A - Ferrari 512S, Grp B - Porsche 917K

That sounds about right. According to the in-game fuel/lap calculator when I set fuel to 50 Litres (Starting fuel...assuming that's about half race to pit stop) it's averaging 7 laps.
I tell you that boy Aero is a mathematical genius yes.
