Wow, consitincy paid off - especially since I just minded my own business and concentrated on not hitting things rather than going fast. Still, always a bridesmaid...

Glad to hear the vintage stuff will be postponed. I spent the morning buying plywood and some other stuff - Hurricane Lane is forecast to track right towards us and arrive Late Friday or Saturday, so I probably won't get much practice done this week.

Congrats to Mike and Camel!

In other news...We were hit about a half an hour or so ago with a very strong earthquake. It was the hardest and longest I've ever experienced. We usually get little ones once in a while, hardly anything to talk about but this one was yuuuuge. It was so bad and so long at one point I seriously thought I was going to dead.

Yikes... YOU stay safe brah.

@2pfspiff - not even a thing my friend- buffed right out, thanks for the apology though.

Been keeping up with that Lehman. Hope all stays safe with you. Do you live on the big island?

What's that??? Thanks to all the minions who worship me in my utter Baaaawesomness.

My spectacular performance was even sweeter considering I was in last place in every race after the first lap and was able to battle back. And yes McInnes, you were on fire and would have knocked me off the pedestal if it wasn't for your disconnect. Wa wa waaaa.

Group A, hint hint nudge nudge. Lol

@GTLehman
Is that storm going to turn west? I certainly hope so. Good wishes sent your way.

Thanks SGETI, I appreciate it brother. Your guess is as good as ours, keeping our fingers crossed. They keep forcasting that it's supposed to be weakening as well, but it's really not. My company has hangared the planes and is basically suspending operations, not just to protect assets but also to let us be with our families to prepare and weather things out. Janice and I are pretty well prepared at home. The next 24 hours should give a better idea of what the weekend will bring - at the very least probably very heavy rains and at least 50mph winds. So, I may be scarce here for a few days, especially if the power gets cut by the county or nature.

Master Lobban, wherefore art thou? Showeth thy face and spilleth the beans.

....Tick tick tock tick tick.

Ok, I can post now, David has spoken.

Mohave it is......All five of the suckers......no qualy, no fuel, no tires, no Pits and full damage.

A will drive this Skyline Silouette, a touchy bugger with a turbo that will shake your teeth. I think you guys can handle it.

B will drive the nice sedate Grandmas car, the GTR(BNR32).

BTW, I was kidding about full damage.

GtLayman, this look familiar? I can see your fingerprints on the yoke. Although I haven't flown sims for a couple of years, this was the plane I had the most hours on. The OV-10 Bronco was my next favorite

Wow. Watched news but from 8 hour old video. Doesn’t look good. The amount of rain alone is insane. Best wishes for you GTL. I think you said you were northwestern most island. It’s hard for a flat lander to understand how an island can flood. One meter of rain in a short time span goes a long way to explain it though! Stay high, stay dry.

@GTLehman

Check on the list of vintage F1 cars on F1 2018

Tought you would like it.

Like you, I’d be most interested in these cars. Its worth just to drive Senna’s car.

PS: Hope you’re staying dry over there man. Be safe.

Thanks CB - yeah some of my favorites there: 312T2, M23, Lotus 79 and the MP4s. Yes, It would be worth it for Senna's cars, not to mention Lauda, Hunt's and Andretti's. You could reenact 1976!
Things are stable here. The big island is getting lots of rain and flooding. Meanwhile the hurricane is moving north very slowly, still south of the islands. Current forecast has it turning west, which we are all waiting for. It has been downgraded to a hurricane 2, 110mph winds which is good. Just a wait and see for us on Kaua'i right now. Yesterday we put more lines on the sailboat for any surge, and I cut our plywood, but haven't put it up yet.

Wow, that's really cool. The sound of the igniters at startup was spot on, got my blood pumping - then they started the music - bastards! I like that they even have the engine hatch open so you can check the oil.
It is a great plane to fly for sure. For me second only to the mighty Baron - the flying muscle car.
The Bronco has always been a favorite of mine too - THAT would be a great plane to fly.

Thanks @Rob Brown. Yeah, it is hard to understand island flooding, but it's because the topography changes so fast in such short areas. One area can flood out, and 10 miles away no problems. Thanks for the well wishes.

Aye Reds you can say that again. Haven't tried the A group car but that B group car (the Nissan Skyline GTR BNR32) I did a few practice runs on the very Boa and that was the devil itself on that Boa Contrictor. It like driving on butter. Have yet to try the other tracks but will soon but if is similar on the other Mojaves lord put a hand. it go be one helluva night.

.....And if the group A car more brutal than the group B car that real trippy. Lobbie is a evil man yes. LOL.
Actually looking forward to the night now for the kicks and giggles. LOL.

It's not as bad as all that ... a little tweak here and there tames it down a bit. Cambers, bump rebounds, brake pressure and bias....

Quick question all, what minimum numbers should I be seeing for U/L and D/L and what are optimum numbers?

Update: I've since did some practice runs on Sidewinder and Cayote and the handling was much better.
Seems as though Boa may be the devil of the lot. Following the first go at Boa (with a tune I initially got) I reloaded a Default and did some adjustments via Race Engineer to tame it down somewhat which helped but still pretty much guesswork not being the avid tuner myself. Still hoping to get a better tune for devil Boa though.

That aside, I have a question. In the race announcement Lobbie said "No fuel, no tires"....to which I replied "What?". Confused as I don't know what he means by that. You know how he can be confusing at times. Ok, "most times" then. How can you race with no fuel and tires? What the.....????

.....Also since there's no Pit Stop how much laps are we to run? Or is Lobbie going to announce that sometime?

I'm sure Lobby will announce that some time.... but if you want to speculate....
We normally do 45 minutes of qually and three 30 minute races with two more 10 min quallies for a total of 155 minutes of qually / racing, plus a few breaks. We look at a 3-hour night.

Now, if we don't do qually or pit stops and we have 5 track layouts, I guess it is possible to do five 30 minute races (maybe 25 minutes will be more realistic) for a total of 150 minutes with a few minutes breaks in between. But, that's just my guess. The coyote noose will be boring with ~50 laps.....

No fuel, no tires mean the setting is for zero tire wear and no fuel depletion, so we won't need to do pit stops.

Yeah that makes sense. Gives me a better understanding how to prepare now. Cheers.

The last couple of times we ran at Mojave we ran 5 races of 15 minutes each.

Don't worry David, I'll be back soon enough and the world will once again make sense too you :D

Hey Shaun, hope everything worked out alright for you, last I read they had downgraded to tropical storm?

Nice. Good to see you Aero and that reminder helps a lot too. Cheers.

Yup, downgraded last night. We had a few brief (five minute), heavy rain storms early this morning then just gray all day with an average of 25kt winds. So happy about that. And now we've got plenty of provisions as well as cut plywood for anything else that comes this way this year -first time since I have been here that I actually felt the need to buy the wood and cut it. I think @bigtimedave 's honeymooners got the worst of it depending on which side of the big island they are on.
