That was a fun night, driving two new cars that seems most people hadn't spent much time in, if any. Great choice Shaun!

Way to go @Hanable, for his clean sweep of group B. That's two weeks overall win in a row. I think we might just have to move yo black ass back up to A!

Congrats to @SGETI, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Group A win

LOL didn’t see that coming, but way to be a good sport hanable. I don’t even want to know what terrible things you’ve probably heard me say.
Anyway...
I managed a nice 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... and screwed up the 4th race again. Forgot to put fuel in the car. Ding fries are done.
I usually qualify with race fuel, but I forgot to load a setup from race 3. But I got to race spaghetti anyway (sort of)

Hanable, we are a non-partisan room, we make fun of everybody in the true non PC BoB tradition. So you are a black guy, nobody cares about that. If anyone did, they wouldn’t be racing with us. My twin sister is a black guy.....long story best left untold. We all wish you would talk in the room and join in the hilarity. Now...... the Irish, bunch of whiskey drinkin, potato sucking, can’t speak English couch fliers. Or is that just Colts?
That’s why we warn guys who first join us. If they don’t have a thick skin, they won’t feel comfortable in the Lounge. Are lines crossed sometimes? Absolutely, but all for the fun and laughs. Real racism will not be tolerated by us.

Mike you guys are not with the bs bro. If so I wouldn't be here. I race with you guys alot in here and in other rooms and non of u guys display any hate. I was just stating my race because someone said there are no black folks in here which was incorrect. That's it. I know your a Republican but you guys are pretty much liberal when it comes to the talking. It seems like the only thing y'all hate is folks using the driving line and complaining about points. Lol. Btw Colts you never said anything crazy so I never had to be a good sport.

Good racing last night. Someone made a comment that there are no black folks in the room. There is no way you guys could have known im black considering I don't talk. Lol. Anyway I'm not offended by the jokes last night because I've raced with you guys long enough to know you mean nothing by it. Just jokes. Anyway good racing bro's.

Well we knew you were too good of a driver to be asian...

The Porsche was a lot of fun in Australia tonight - and depending on who you ask, the Panoz was too. That 961 launched like a rocket! Apolgies to Shaun M. for pulling over into you at the first race start- I thought I was well past- as well as the one or two others (Gutter) that I traded paint with. Had some great door to door with Bear, always a great time racing with you.
Cheers on a fun combo McInnis!!
I thought the panoz was more fun to drive, that Porsche almost handled like a 4wheel drive.
Not sure why Australia was misspelt tho.

Found it...Dickie Atwood. He raced the 917 at lemans... he's 78 years old now.
Was cool to watch a 49 year old car being driven by a 78 year old guy, and giving the new Porsche and young driver a run for his money. It didn't sound like Dickie was really winding the old girl out tho. Probably instructed not to. That 917 engine is probably worth more than the entire gt3 Porsche.

Republican? We’re Canadian eh. I guess that would be called Conservative here. I hate them too, but especially I hate our Prime Minister, the soyboy, terrorist loving, west hating, feminist Globalist.
Generally, I hate politicians of all types. Except for Trump, right Sgeti? I don’t care if he peed in Stormies mouth or what he did before being elected by the forgotten masses of the flyover states. I was never into politics before 45, I thought it would be a sh.t show and I was right. But, in spite of the constant attacks by the left, he’s done a remarkable job making America great again. The offer is still open.....straight up trade.....Trump for Trudeau.

Now it makes sense...I thought it handled like crap. too bad I didn't know that. If we ever run it again I'll try to turn off the front drive via clutches. I did this with another car, can't remember which, but I do remember gaining 2-3 seconds on my lap time.

You can do that....I need to figure this out for the next time

It’s a good thing Gutter kept the jokes coming because my racing wasn’t the least bit amusing. Should have taken the camber out of the Poorsch in the first race - spun half dozen times.

I took out all the aero, raised the ride height but made sure the rear was higher by like 5 or 7 mm and cut the boost to 85 percent to help with the handling. I had issues with the Porsche as far as braking points.

I too raised the rear which really helped with the understeer, and I adjusted the camber. I didn't feel I needed to touch the tranny or diffs at all. I think I evened oooot the brake balance a bit and turned down the pressure. My braking was really good, but yeah, the brake points were a quarter of the way down the straight!
I hadn't practiced in the Panoz at all, and when I tried to tune it during qually it didn't have enough space for me to save a setup, so for me it was like driving on glass - but generally seemed like an ok car.

I thought the Porsche was fine, I have no idea what I did to it, but I did see the front lsd only had one thing you could change (I think). Didn’t touch it, I thought it didn’t turn very well, and the brakes on both cars seemed to be awful. It Seemed like the same breaking points, but the panoz kept locking up.

Sorry for being a grump in the last race Monday. Monday's are losing a bit of their fun-factor for me. I don't think the racing has been as clean as it used to be. Since penalties have gone away I've witnessed several track limit violations used to gain an advantage. It's especially frustrating to put a few seconds gap in front of somebody, just to watch them run out of bounds in your mirror, and then have them pressuring you on your rear bumper. Also a pain to watch guys straight line chicanes and jump 4-5 seconds ahead while I'm staying within the boundaries. Whenever I do run out of bounds, I try to negate any advantage with a self imposed penalty. I don't always see others doing the same (some do though). Maybe I'm just crabby because I'm not able to race without pain, but if I'm putting myself through physical discomfort to have a fun night of racing, I don't want to spend it getting slammed off track, and trying to keep up with others that are bending the rules.

On a personal level, I'm not angry with any person for any specific incident. Schitt happens, people make mistakes (I've been making lots lately), and if one person gains an advantage by running out of bounds - whomever is following is usually going to do the same in order to stay in contention. It's not my league, but if it were penalties would be back next week. They just worked for a long time, and now we're having problems without them.

I'm also not a fan of the two car/four race format. (For me personally) it pretty much requires about an hour of practice before race night to get both cars tuned a bit, and I just haven't been able to practice. With the three-race/one-car format, I'd just spend the qualifying time figuring out a bit about the car, do a little bit of tuning, and run from there. Now I'm just lost when we switch cars - as some others are too - and I think that's causing more mistakes and more contact during the third and forth races. Maybe more qualifying time in between the switch would help? I don't know.

Just some opinions and feedback. I KNOW FOR A FACT that others don't share my opinions, and I'm always cool with that. You pretty much have to run over my dog to get me mad, and I totally respect everyone else's feelings and opinions. But I'm personally just not having as much fun lately.

Steve, I watched the replay of the incident where you made a very good, turn two pass in the Porsche. Somehow I'd muted my mic. or you would've heard me saying don't worry about it, keep going, even though I thought you kinda ran me off the road. You were SUPER COOL and fell back and waited for me. Upon replay further review, in my opinion, it was just a racing incident where probably no action would've been taken by the stewards. Thanks for holding up, a class act that I was trying to say was unnecessary, but went unheard.

Hope I'm not being a downer here. Maybe the physical challenge is pushing back too much, maybe the Puddles thing is getting a little old, I don't know what it is, but Monday's just don't feel the same to me. I know Monday is supposed to be the fun, laid back night. And that's probably a cool reprieve for the guys that run in more serious leagues throughout the week. But this is the only league I'm in. And I'm just asking for a little bit of seriousness when it comes to clean and fair racing - but along with all the other fun stuff that makes our cheeks hurt from laughing too.

Not meant to be a rant... But my opinion is now over.

You were grumpy? I didn’t notice. I think the fun factor is slowing down a bit as well........we need a new game, PC2 is getting old. As for clean racing, there have been a lot of liberties in the race craft and boundary limits and it’s up to us to stay within limits. Be Man enough to acknowledge your OOB and lift when you do. Every start the other night had schitt stains all over them.....brutal. GR8 hit it on the head, we gotta clean up our act for the betterment of all. Penalties will stay off for now, but, we’ll closely monitor and spank the perpetrators. We can always call out each other too for infractions.

You practice? I think you might be the only guy to practice for our Lounge......that’s why we have a long qualy session, lots of time to try both cars, get a setup and BoBs your uncle. Jeff, you’ve been with us since the start, you know we put the fun factor ahead of the racing. We don’t want to be a serious league, there are already lots of those.

Puddles is getting old? What a baaaaasome nickname....it took me 10 whole seconds to come up with it. After calling you Bishop for so many years, GR8lakes just doesn’t roll off my tongue the same way. There sure are worse, right Hermipoop?

Thing is Jeff, YOU have been here from the start and for a long time before that. You were in my first ever online race back in Snail, which I won, by the way, and I remember you giving me poo kaka after about my un-snaillike performance. We listen to the veterans and will try within reason to make it fun for you and everyone else as well. Suggestions are always welcome from anyone. If it makes the Lounge better, we’ll try it.....unless it’s from “The Torpedo”, I mean Colts.

I get what you're saying Jeff. Here's my view:
Monday night, I broke track limits. A lot. Mostly in the Panoz, because I didn't have a tune or practice in it - my bad and no excuse. A little in the 961, but mainly in the Panoz and neither on purpose. In the Panoz I obviously wasn't gaining an advantage by any excursions, in the Volkswagon _ I may have A LITTLE once or twice. Dunno, it wasn't on purpose, but it was sloppy I admit. I was chasing you down pretty hard at one point, I don't think I was out of limits much, but if it seemed I was pushing the limits of fair racing then I apologize, I'll try to do better. As I mentioned @yogi bear and I had some good, close racing - he is a master at that.
Anyway, I don't feel that ANYBODY in our league cheats or plays dirty. The BoBs wouldn't stand for it if they did. Unlike SNAIL where it always seemed group 1 and 2 there was quite a lot of questionable driving. Maybe not outright cheating, but bouncing off of walls and such.
As we have talked about though, it would be very difficult to have a prefect 'level' league, where everybody shifted manually, used the clutch, yada, yada, yada. We can't even standardize everybody's hardware - does a Fanatec give an advantage over a G29? I don't think so, but who knows. Then there's issues like lag and having your wife or cat pestering you in the middle of a race. Don't think Alonso has those problems...
The point I am making is this: I love our league. We are a group of ilke-minded people, who get together from THOUSANDS of miles away from one another and have a great time, AND we have a black guy!
We keep it relatively realistic, we keep it clean and most importantly we keep it friendly. As Gutter mentioned a few weeks ago - he's seen enough BS in real-life, this is about having fun. And that's what we do, and I an grateful to the everybody for what they bring to the room. We have a good balance is what it boils down to.

Personally I am still in love with PC2, it's not boring for me yet. But then, I also don't mind landing on the same runway over and over.
I don't need a new sim, I'd just like to see them introduce more classic Formula 1 and Can Am cars..

Interesting to read the comments above, have to say I'm in agreement with a few of the things that Puddles, oops, Bishop, oops, GR8/Jeff, whatever your name is :D brought up.

I still prefer our three 30 minute races with pit stops, running one car for the night as well, but the vote was more in favour of the four race format, so that is why we now have the two weeks of 4 race and 1 week of 3 race evenings, (except for this stint of running others combos). Not saying I don't like the 4 race format, I just prefer the other.

We don't have the time during the race night to make qualy longer for the last three races, so if you haven't practiced in the car for the second half of the night, then that will definitely hurt you. Maybe just try to find some time to practice the car that your group will be racing in races 3&4 before the night starts. The main reason for the long qualy at the start of the night is to allow the stragglers to join by 8:30 or so.

As for the OOB issues, I don't know how many times we have said you need to back or lift off, or make sure you let the following driver by if you have gained time, but very few seem to follow that. Turn one this week was a huge example, I watched the two races that I had saved and it was amazing how many times I saw drivers go way off the track and just coming screaming back onto the track gaining time. I was guilty myself at one point and heard Lobban calling me out on it, but I was a bit annoyed at seeing so much OOB that I responded by saying screw it, nobody else is lifting, which was wrong of me. Mike and I disagree on track limit penalties being off, but I agreed to try it out for a few weeks. I know they can be a pain and unfair at times, but if people still refuse to acknowledge they have gone OOB and do nothing, then I really think we will have no choice but to turn the penalties back on.

Jeff, I also watched the replay of that pass I made on you on the inside, a good one if I might add, but the nature of that car with its understeer made it so I had not much choice than going a little wide on the next turn. I watched it frame by frame and we never made contact, but you had your nose stuck in there when I was closing the door on you and you had no choice but to run off. But at the time I wasn't sure what happened, so I erred on the guilty side and let you by.
Now, that incident earlier in the race when I took out Hanable, who then went careening into you, was totally my fault. I knew I was too late on the brakes so I made the last minute decision to head off the track onto the grass to miss him, but I was that fraction too late and just kissed his left rear bumper. I never heard or felt a thing and knew nothing of the resulting crash until you said something. You can definitely hear the contact in the replay though. I edited a small clip of that which is posted below, along with some pics.
Oh yeah, Rob, I owe you an apology for accusing you of taking me out twice in turn one in the last race, it was CB the first time, sorry aboot that.

Me heading for the grass but just tagged Hanables back left enough to cause his car to turn.

wheres the screen shot of me driving underneath him?
And I look at the turned off penalties different. If I'm getting lapped, it gives me an opportunity to get out of the way without losing as much ground. And on more than one occasion a b drivers sneaks through taking advantage of my curtesy. In that case I will definitely chop a few corners to make up lost ground. But also avoiding a collision without being penalized.
on occasion I swear there was a picnic basket in the grass.

Jeff, all, I’ve been thinking about Jeff’s post for the last day and I’ve come up with some ideas. We should all tighten up our belts so to speak. Here are some recommendations so that we may accomplish that.
  • Let’s enact official marshals for incident investigations
  • Let’s establish detailed online racing rules of etiquette.
  • Let’s refer to each other by our PSN names (or real names if ok with the individual)
  • Let’s allow the winners to be more involved in picking the next combinations.
  • Let’s freshen the lounge name. Hmmm, how would I describe it? How about; single nerds alone in life? No, too similar to existing league. How about something with flare from the North, how about BOBSLED? (bitter old bastards suffering lamentable erectile dysfunction). Ya something realistic like that.
Anyway, my 2 cents, let’s munch on it for awhile.
Wait, I have. How about we ask for track boundaries to be turned back on instead?

I'll go and check the fridge now to make sure there is enough cold beer to see us through the day.....

Pictures please!
The first time I went to Cancun, we drove to Chichen Itza we stopped in Valladolid - charming little town. It's a great area. I'd liek to go back again soon.

Eh, I think some of that is getting too complex for what we have here.
First off, I volunteer to be 'puddles'. I fly a puddle-jumper and between my 50 year old bladder and 17 year old sex drive the name is appropriate.
Jeff can be Grumpy (sometimes more than others - ha!). Or he can just be Jeff.

I'm, not fond of having the winners pick the combos. Since we often have the same winners, we'll end up driving the same types of cars. I do think having the group being more proactive in suggestions would be a possibility. Maybe go down the driver's list - each week somebody gets to choose.

I don't think we need, or want, stewards/marshals. That makes things complex for everybody. In SNAIL I rarely had an IR filed against me, or filed one myself. If something happened I would message the other driver and apologize or mention to him that I thought he was 'a bit aggressive', and it was resolved with a handshake. We all knew what we did or didn't do and we knew each other well enough to not make a deal out of it. Same with this group. And for me, minor bumps and errors aren't a big deal - somebody missing their braking point or having a brain fahrt. You know, racing incidents. The things that tic me off are divebombs, which historically have been by guys who didn't come from SNAIL and don't understand that it's not good racecraft. There were several times I got knocked out of contention, but its's still not a regular occurance with most of us.

I do agree we can all 'tighten our belts'. I was sloppy last week and I vow to do better. I know as a group, we are each man enough, as Mike put it, to clean up our act for this lounge.

We can rename the lounge to BOBFART - Bitter Old Bastards' Formula Auto Racing Teams

I don't have any change, but that's my pocket lint and two peanuts.
