Attention Group A, there are only two votes in so far for next weeks car! Deadline is tomorrow noon!
B is good.
I dare both groups to run the 69 camaro and/or the group 44 jag in the snow.
Wog, Hawkeyes, and myself ran Bruno in blizzard conditions, what a blast! Had those cars coming into the corners at a 45 degree angle, turn wheels into the slide, maintain the slide thru the corners then straighten out for the straights...

You’re on bear!

Do you guys want to shoot for tomorrow about 7 or 8est? I'll take the Daytona out.

Top of this page has been edited with voting results and track announcement. (Report #2 always up to date as well).

Yeah I voted twice....wasn't sure the first one went though and figured if it did you would just delete one of them. If you guys do some type of racing on Friday night shoot me an invite. The EU got the new patch last night.....I'm thinking we might get it here soon. There was like 4 rooms to race in yesterday because all the Europeans were on the new patch. Hopefully race with some of you guys tonight

Most Fri nights it's an SRM casual night, but if we get sick of Mcinnis or Phile leading the way, :D, then we sometimes go do our own thing!
Last Fri those two were incognito, so a few of us did a reverse track night. Looks like bear's challenging us to drive some vintage stuff in the snow tonight!

Just watched the first six minutes of TGT Ep1 S2, they preview the 11 episodes coming up, looks great. Hard not to sit here and watch the rest but best get back to work!

Looks like last Monday was a success! That 2 class racing idea was perfect. I might not make it again Monday night due to a house move. Not sure if the new Man Cave will be set up in time. If not I'll be in the following Monday for sure if I'm still active and can get in the lobby. Let it snow! Here on the East Coast we are actually getting the first snowfall of the year. Coming in 6-10 inches. Get the plows out!

Sorry to say but it wasn't quite a success actually IMO. There were too many crashes, on-screen stuttering and still frustrating bugs resulting in disconnections, abandonments of races.... (one minute you're on the track with everyone else and the next minute you're wondering "Heyyy!!!!...where'd everyone go?"... as you find it suddenly got quiet and you find yourself alone on the track) resulting in having to leave the lobby in progress and re-join via new invitation and lobby. It was quite chaotic and frustrating actually. Despite staying up extra late to see the night through (later than most as I'm now one hour ahead) by the third race or just before when that happened again it was just too much for me to have to re-join again (then around 11:30-11:45pm) so I had to abandon joining the final session which is very strange for me as I generally stick right through beginning to end of our race nights.

Crashes aside, I was really hoping patch 3 was going to be released (at least for us on consoles in N/S America) before next Monday hopefully addressing whatever bugs but latest news from Ian Bell about the long delay despite being already released in Europe it seems it will not now be available to us until next Tuesday (perhaps even later).

EDIT: And one more thing. About the 2 class racing idea thingy....with the Group A faster guys despite having the advantage of being faster on top of that being given even faster cars that in my opinion added insult to injury as (maybe because of the particular car) because it was so much faster there was hardly any time if any to be aware or see those guys coming up from behind as one second you're going along your merry way and in the next second the faster cars are passing you in a flash and you have to hope for the best.

This is still a work in progress, trying to find what works best, but I do believe most here like this format. Giving the faster guys a faster car just gets them out of our hair at the beginning, so it builds a gap quicker and leaves us to race with less chances of incidents. Most of the crashes, I do believe, were not the result of the faster car passing the slower one. There will not be that many weeks where the speed difference will be like it was last week, but when it is, we will pick the track accordingly. I thought the awareness of all the last two weeks has been exemplary.

The cool thing about this is that that it replicates real life multi class racing quite well. We watched the faster LMP cars start lapping the slowest GT cars in four laps at Mosport this year! And you should have seen the rate at which they closed up on the slower car, it was amazing to watch and the skill level of these guys was awesome.

None of us like these glitches and issues, and I hope the patch addresses all, but there will still likely be some quirks. For the most part, I feel grateful that we are even able to drive and race in a game like we can just sitting in our homes, it's a pretty amazing thing really!

Sorry if I was being a bit Colts'ish towards the end of the night last night, I was getting pretty hammered! :dopey: :D

You’re on bear!
Sorry I didn't mean to trounce you guys that much, but camel passed me and was getting away. I started to reel him in, but he spotted me and took off again.
It was a blow that I'll have to recover from... I used to drive that car through sask. Winters with g60 bias ply tires on. Sure it's been 40 years, but it's kinda like riding a bike, you don't forget.
Anyhow hats off to camel. Like I said, it takes a different skill to run fast in the historics.
Oh... and I found the jag great in the corners also.

Thanks for your response Aero. Despite my opinion, yeah I understand and sure I speak for all of us when I say we appreciate the work and effort both yourself and Lobbie put in as admins to plan and organise these events, which is no easy task in itself. Easy enough for us to pop in but it's you admins have the greater responsibility in planning, organising and running these events. Time-consuming for sure.

Said it before but the reason why this is the lobby I prefer to remain in (despite getting beat 99.999% of the time and having serious ego-bursting complex most times as a result) is not only because I find you and Lobbie are such great guys/great admins, very fair-minded and have been very good to me also, but also because the rest of the guys are such a great bunch of guys too including the comaraderie both on and off race.

Yup, Camel was phenomenal. 1, 1 and 1. Lord amighty. That boy deserves an award. He even dethroned alien BCBoy yes, imagine that. He should be renamed Gazelle.

You suck Steve, Cool story about your birthplace and the brewery though! :)

Edit:
Camel is fast as hell, we’re similar in speed most of the time but he doesn’t make as many mistakes as I do. I find it very difficult to recorrect oversteer in this game, which sucks for me because I love a car that has some sliptivity to it, and that’s what I try and set my cars up to do. GTSport I can hang the rear end out and catch it all day long, real life is the same; the car is always in a bit of a slide. But in PCARS2 (with the exception of the Formula Ford and clio cup) the slides are almost impossible to maintain without looping it or overcorrecting and shooting off in another direction.

It gets easier in wet weather conditions though, long story short I need to step my game up to give camel some competition! It’s lonely up on top!

I managed to dethrone BC in the historic camaro in the rain....but not camel. Perhaps I can achieve this in the old Aston Martin. Without a doubt I can present more of a challenge in the historics, you may like them David. They ride on tires from our era. They don't build cars like that anymore.. tough as nails. At 18 years old I drove the living crap out of that car! Gas held to the floor, bang the clutch in and shift in the same millisecond. Today's cars would drop gears all over the pavement. Even after hopping it up to 400 bhp. It took the abuse no problem.
Alas I don't foresee any league races in the historics. Most find them too difficult to drive.

I wasn’t there Bear ;) showed up late to the party

Challenge??... yeah, those guys couldnt wait to get out of that camaro. I'd be up to go with you and camel in the camaro or the jag.. I think I could give you guys a run for the money.
It's too bad they didn't get the sound right on the camaro. Check out grumpy jenkings shifting on you tube.
That's how it should sound and shift... 8500rpm... not the wimpy 7000 it is in the game. And it should be loud!

Haha.......told you I was rambling.....:dunce:

Whadaya mean, we just drove historic Lotus's :boggled: And there will be some more historic stuff coming up!

@SGETI
In my inebriated state last night, I definitely got that Porsche model wrong, there was no way it was a 959! Some kind of all wheel drive, aftermarket twin turbo, carbon fibre out your ying yang 911. Next time I see Bobby I will have to ask him exactly what it was. I can't find any pics of it.
Here are some pics of his Superformance Cobra. This is the most violent car I've ever been in as far as outright power, it truly has head snapping performance. I know, as I had a sore neck for 3 days once after the car flicked sideways exiting a 90 degree corner. Bob says this motor is 675hp but I don't really believe that. Regardless, it is soooooo fast!

Ok...yeah that's true.. glad to hear more historic stuff on the way. I should have said excluding the bobs.
But have you noticed camel doesn't leave us in the dust quite as bad when we run the older cars.
One of these times we will find a car/track combo that one of us will beat him at.
I'm not sure about the rest of the bobs, but my practice is when you open a room up. That's it.
I've seen camel online practicing before every race... perhaps you gotta keep it top secret again.

Wow, so much to wake up to! Thankfully last night was generally without bugs, odd how that works. Sorry I had to leave early, I was really enjoying it as always - and it's always fun to hear Aero's tipsy ramblings. David, I know how frustrating it is, hang in there brother - The bugs spoiled both of my early races by giving me balloon tires after the pitstops that killed my traction. Anyway as you said, this gang keeps this league fun. Clean and fun. It's not like my days in SNAIL where there was no joking before the race, then silence during. It was fun, but sterile. Anyway, there will be patches and things will improve.
Bear - I'll take you on in that Camaro any time brah! I'm sure you remember that day you and I ran the exact same lap times! I enjoy driving it as well, and I personally enjoy that Daytona even more. Praise to the makers for those cars - and I agree with Aero that we're lucky to have a sim like this one.

Good to hear gt.. hoping to recruit a full field. If guys give it a chance and learn its ways, it is a very forgiving car.
I am hoping to see more trans am class in the future...perhaps a boss 302 mustang and a AAR cuda!...
Perhaps a 1970 m20 mclaren can am car?.. one author of a can am book had a ride with Denny Hulme (aka...the bear) he described it as very violent acceleration.....like being in an oil drum and a giant with a sledge hammer hit you from behind. 494 cu. inches of torque, combined with 950 plus horsepower in a 1500 lb car.!
Those drivers used a wheel barrow to carry their balls around.

For Bear: “I used to drive that car through Sask. Winters”. Is this really what you guys from Saskatchewan sound like but you’ve been using the PS4 voice modulator when you’re on the mic?

Modulator?.. really? Like I would know what that is and how to use it?... bahahahahahahhaahaha.....
Bahahahahahaaa......I just learned how to change the letter size.....bahahahahaaaaa
