:gtpflag: RACE DAY DETAILS :gtpflag:

mojave-jpg.712627

There are a few places with no practice or qualy for racing, as soon as you start the session you are at the race start, so they are rarely used. The Mojave tracks are one of these.
The problem is the no practice/qualy before a race. At 8pm we will start a series of short practice races, alternating through the tracks. If you are not in the room when we start, just wait for the practice race to end, then join. We will then wait for a few more mins so more people can join. Then we run another practice race and repeat that process. We will do this as much as time allows. The last practice race will be at Bola Assent for 10 min's and we will use this as the qualifier, with hopefully all in the room by then. If anyone misses any of this then you can still join at any time but will start at the back. We will guide you through all this, it's pretty easy and we've done it before.

Race 1 will then be a rolling start so we can get in position from the last race we used as the qualifier. The rest of the night will be reverse order as usual.

Everyone is to start with 15 litres of fuel for the races. No pit stops here.
All the races are 15 min's long.

Race 1 - Bola Assent
Race 2 - Cougar Ridge
Race 3 - Coyote Noose
Race 4 - Gila Crest
Race 5 - Sidewinder

The newest event is the “Wailing thru Wales Rally”. Group A (1990s cars) for 12 stages. I know the search function for DiRT Rally was messed up for awhile, that’s why I included the direct link. See you guys Monday night for the Lobanaro Lounge PCars 2 Race.
It works!!!

@Senna94f1 Hey Mark, I know it's a bit late notice but the cars are very similar. You are being moved to Grp A as of tomorrow. We will be missing one reg A driver for the next couple of weeks (Red is at the beach drinking with David!), and we are adding a new B driver.

Guy's, please welcome @dret7277 , another Canadian (Swiss) BOB!
Nick is a friend of mine and a newbie to the sim racing world. He has been practicing for a couple of months but has no online league experience other than a few public lobbies. I spent this afternoon with him going through all that he needs to know for racing with us. He already has some good speed but just needs time to settle into a rhythm and work on not spinning out, a very familiar scenario to all of us when we first started. So please be patient with him, try and remember the first online race you did! Oh, the main thing here is that he will fit in just fine!
Welcome to the Lounge Nick

We ran these at this track in Friday night racing in p1, it was a rolling demolition race to let out some frustrations.
At first stock cars were chosen, but the little escort turned out to be tougher and could last the whole race.
Although not much left of it and all windows were shattered.

Well, I'm glad we run a clean race.....lol.

Well I see we have no grammar experts in this group, I purposely misspelled the title in this weeks race header but I guess no one got it. So shortening "Messing" to "Messin' " should have apostrophe at end. I split it up like this, Mess' in, so it could be taken as a Mess in the Mojave.
OK, enough of the grammar geekness, but I bring this up as a we want tonight to be as little a mess as possible. Just because we are going to the Mojave, and we are running a different format, doesn't mean it should be any different from any other night. Track penalties will be off and the boundaries need to be adhered too, especially in the twisty climb up Boa Assent. Competitive Racing License will be on as usual. I realize these tracks, combined with the car, can be a bit tricky but we are all good enough drivers to try and keep it as clean as possible. That means we just have to take it a little easier that's all. The races are still long enough tonight that you don't need to try and win it in the first few corners, be patient as mistakes will be made, and if you stay on track all will be good.
Allrighty then, enough of the serious BOB stuff, will see all you wankers tonight, let's have some fun.

I thought it was quite crafty actually.

BTW, I no longer think the car and tracks to be devil. Did some more practice runs and the car and tracks are a load of fun and I'm looking forward more so now to tonight.

I concur, and agree completely with Camel's words a few weeks ago - it's worth taking your time to plan and execute a pass cleanly safer and more rewarding. Especially keeping in mind that, as in the real world, some of us are not as adept as others no matter how we try.

See ya at the mess!

Can you repeat this? Sorry, I wasn't listening.

Normally you don’t precede “and” with a comma - just say’n

Don't think I'll be around tonight. Working on SRM stuff so kinda raced out at the moment. Have fun guys.

What track is that in the second video? You think that might be the new one I keep hearing about?
It is Porsche's testing facility, https://www.porsche-leipzig.com/en/tracks/
The content in those video's are from the latest patch that just came out. The DLC is buried in that and buddy went in and unlocked it, that was what I gathered from the comments. Regardless, looks like what we are getting.

Looking forward to this the most though!

As we were saying, those 917s are GREAT NEWS! I agree with Bear, hopefully we'll see some McLaren and other Can Am cars come out.
Sugestion: A night of a 10 min quali, followed by a 1.5 - 2 hour race with accelerated time to simulate LeMans. It MIGHT be boring but it would be really cool to try - especially with a pit stop or three.

@GTLehman must have rock hard abs after tonight! Ain’t nothing funnier than someone else laughing their ass off
Yup, rock hard abs form the laughing and huge arms from all the up and down motion.
No, no, Up and down motion countersteering! Sheesh what were you guys thinking.

Huge fun last night and good times on the tracks. That was a really cool schedule.

Got disconnected first race but, here are the others from a Baawesome POV.
I was so Baawesome I think another "a" is warranted. I am now Mr. Baaawesome. Thank you.
Pass the Butt Balls Mark, it's my turn.....got a new tube of KY.
Really good showing from the FNG.... third place overall, not bad for a rookie online driver, kind of reminds me of me, before I was Baaawesome. Well done Nick.

Group A.......ahhhhhh, who cares

I hope nobody was offended, (really, I don't give a hoot if you are), by the filth last night. Myself, I don't remember laughing so hard in a racing room before, Sean was contagious. Truth is, I love the grossness ....the badder the better. I guess it's a guy thing...this guy anyway.

Next week, back to the normal rain, sleet, snow blizzard, or maybe even clear conditions on a voted car.

On a serious note.......whatever happened to concessions? If you are involved in a wreck that is your fault, you must concede the spot to that driver, no matter how long it takes for him to get back. That means going right to the back if that's what it takes for your victim to get back in front of you. I'm not going to point anyone out, but please guys, this has been a standing rule since like.........forever.

I love this idea. I only hope you guys can hold off for a month to do it. I want to be a part of it. Two Fridays ago I fired up my rig and played around for about an hour and a half. Other than that, I haven't even turned the PS4 on in a month :(. I had last Monday off, but had to be up at 3:00 am Tuesday morning. Around 8:00 I looked at my wife and said, "This sucks!!! I just want to grab my cooler, fill it with beer, and head down to the basement to race for the night." She was actually sympathetic , and reassured me, "It's only for a few more weeks honey, and you'll be back to having fun with your buddies." Man, she's a keeper. Still missing all of you guys just as much as the racing. Funny how much I think of you all as friends that I haven't seen in a while. We sure have a good group of racers. Well, I'll see ya'll when I see ya'll. C'est la vie, I guess.
