:gtpflag: Race Day :gtpflag:

Most of you remember the old Monty Python saying, "And now for something completely different", well that is almost upon us. I believe most of you are now well aware of what is going down tonight so I'm not going to go through it all again.

FYI. Last night we had around seven of us run some mock races at both tracks and pretty much everybody had to pit for damage at some point (I think in four races only a couple of people managed one whole race without pitting). I would still set up your main pit strategy with just the suspension repair checked, as a good percentage of the time this is what will be fixed, times seemed to average between 25 and 45 seconds. But if damaged more, your car will automatically take longer to repair, a couple of guys were in the pits for a few minutes last night. As a test, I beat the crap out of my car for one lap at Monaco and it took 4 min's, 10 sec's to repair! For the B guy's, I would also set up another pit strategy for a front wing, though you will need to hit a wall a few times with the nose before you lose it.

We will decide come race time how we are gong to approach the starts. Good luck and remember, "Be careful out there"!

Tracks - Long Beach and Azure Circuit

All races are 20 minutes in clear, summer conditions. Both cars use Track tires.
Note: As both cars are in the same class, the starting grid will be a mix of both groups.

Race 3 - Azure Circuit - 13:00
Race 4 - Azure Circuit - 21:00

Group B - Lotus 49C

What was that about fuel set-up's I think I read yesterday, only allowed a certain amount, I'm usually wrong? Newbie problems

Use all the fuel you want. If this is wrong then that's the bobs fault for telling me. Typical Bobs.

Even if you dont take enough fuel i imagine youll be in there at some point. Cough Cough Hint Hint Jab Jab Uppercut.

Don't listen to anything Colts says
The normal process is I announce the max starting fuel quantity the day of the race for each group. This will get you halfway or a bit more but assures that you stop for fuel. You can start with a lesser amount and pit earlier if you want.

Every once in awhile we change up the evening, like tonight. There is no mandatory pit, so fill er up with the fuel you need for the entire 20 min race. There is a very good chance you will be pitting though  :D

Just a nice little fishing video with the love of my life....if only she knew it. What's this got to do with racing you might ask? Just watch that fish corner like it's on rails, shoulda had ABS on.

I'd hit it with torpedo_Picard.jpeg

I felt real stupid reading that until I got to the end. (Don't use that ammo too soon...)

We will debate the authenticity of this later

Really debating whether or not to miss the hockey game for this… Winnipeg has a chance of making it to the western finals this evening, buuuuuuuuuut i’ll never pass down an opportunity to run open wheel race cars ;)

That looked pretty fun. Mikey had the same idea I had in the last race: fall back at the start and avoid damage. I think he and I would've been battling for the very back had I been there . Mike ran a pretty good final race, but somebody :odd: bent him over a barrel and showed him the fifty states.

All I can say is I really miss the action, and can't wait to get back at it. Keep the fresh ideas coming guys. This league is definitely a success.

By the way, if somebody gets Baawasome two weeks in a row, that's an automatic promotion, right?

Well that was certainly an entertaining evening, I think it went down well. Monaco was definitely an adventure, the fact that someone had time to get up and go make a drink during a pit stop says it all!

We will be having another night with a twist to it coming up soon, Mike has an interesting idea up his sleeve.

Thanks to all of you for showing up and giving these different events a go, not knowing how they will turn out makes it that much more interesting.

Congrats to @CB_racer, this weeks "Mr. Awesome" for the Group A win
Congrats to @dret7277, this weeks "Mr. Baawesome" for the Group B win

I was watching the 3rd race on Lobbie's broadcast. You did well to pull off 1st in that race Aero.
At the beginning I saw the collision and thought lord amighty you would have been pissed after ending up to the back after that and I think you went to the pit. I thought maybe you had given up and went for a walk outside since the pit was taking so long. It was only sometime afterwards I saw you back in the race and eventually ended up in front and that was that. Good going.

Time to make a drink, do the dishes, put in some laundry............ I pushed too hard and payed the price on more than one occasion. I did not have a plan and it showed.

With that being said I look forward to the next time we try this format.

David..... I was almost the slowest qualifier, slowest lap times. And look where I wound up... you missed out buddy!..

Thanks David but that wasn't me, both Mike and I squeaked by that spin. I followed Mike and Sgeti until both of them got damage and then stayed in first with only very minor damage so never had to pit.

Yes, we missed you and David tonight . The damage sure made things interesting!

Yup, I had to pit due to tapping a parked car at the carousel, otherwise I might have had ya! The game needs a yellow flag feature for sure.

Fun night for sure, looking forward to something similar soon.

Interesting night for sure having those damage settings for two very tight tracks. I wish there was a way to modulate the severity of the damage to shorten the repair time needed, fug, Sgeti made a drink and did some laundry....I know it makes it more real, but come on, our races are too short for 5 minute pit stops. It was an experiment that worked....up to a point. We'll try it again in the future with more robust cars.....like the 69 Camaro. Next week should be a little more laid back with American stock cars at Caldwell park.
Check my feed, especially in the second race at LB to understand the shifting issues I'm fighting....double shifts, no shifts, it's frustrating. I had to run in automatic for Monaco, which also sucked.
Congrats to Nick, the new Mr. Baaawesome, I hand the Baaawesome balls to over to you for the week. Clean them first, I forgot.
I had a 15 second lead at one point in the last race till Aerofungus put a whammy on me and caused me to hit the wall.....no, he didn't hit me but I felt his negative vibes intruding on my concentration. He should also be ashamed for not giving his all in qualy to start at the back and avoid all the carnage. It's legal, I guess, but dirty pool. I wish I had done it too, it obviously worked to some extent. I was at the back cause I sucked, not from dogging it. Typical.
David, I'm disappointed you wouldn't run last night. Here kitty cat......meow.

I thought I had Aero in the 1st race at Monaco. With about 3 to 4 laps left or so I nailed something with the ass end and wound up with 90% damage on the left shock. Had to do a drive through penalty for hitting whatever it was and wound up lipping her home for 3rd place. Held up bear who held up 4th place with about a 1/4 of a lap left to the finish.

Yeah, have to admit it did look like fun. My phobia of the devil track Long Beach got the better of me....especially that devil hairpin turn.
I continue to notice your superior racing skills though Bear. Appears to me you're consistently improving.

And GT and Lobbie doe dig, according to Arnold "I'll be Back!". Looking forward to next week.

Just in case: have you tried adjusting the clutch and/or shift settings in PCars? It sounds like you are running into something more random, but maybe it is worth a shot.

Maybe next time we do this we can get people to say 'Yellow (at the hairpin)' when they wipe out. Just an idea. The first start at Monaco was epic- well done.

I feel your pain on the double shifts Mike. That was happening to me when I was still using the DS4. It was frustrating entering a turn in 3rd gear and then have it down shift to 1st, over rev and lose control. Knock on wood it hasnt happened with my wheel yet.

I was talking to camel last night, he has the same wheel as you, with no problems. He said he Inputted all his settings via computer or something. Maybe ask camel, or compare settings or something.
