Huge day for me today! I mentioned in previous post they gave me permission to put 50 % weight on my left leg and they waved the 70 degree max angle so I can now bend forward. This in itself frees me up to do so many more things. I’ve been figuring that I might be able to start walking in a week and a half or so. So physio shows up, I stand, so much easier now being able to bend forward, and put some pressure on left leg for the first time in almost 7 weeks. It went so well that they had me take a step forward. The next thing you know we are in the hall and they have me walking, I went all the way to the nurses station, about 70 ft. Video only shows a short portion, we all got very emotional so stopped the video! All my hard work of doing physio in the bed and upper body exercises I think paid their dividends today. Had to share this with you guys. Thanks once more for the support you’ve given me through all this.

Awesome, great to see! Now, again, this time with the hula kit!
Keep those shoes for racing, they look comfortable and are now your lucky pair.

That's so friggin awesome Steve! So happy to see these milestones getting checked off. You'll be chasing the pretty nurses around the hospital in no time.

Nice gams. That was awesome to see you walking, keep up the hard work. You'll be back to your old crusty BOB self in no time.

Spiff, did not hurt at all man. By the way, you were very fast on the Porsche.

Thanks not as fast as you though.

Do you wanna know how I got these scars? My father was a drinker...and a fiend. And one night, he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not...one...bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me, and he says, "Why so serious?" He comes at me with the knife - "Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth - "Let's put a smile on that face!" And... why so serious?
Just kidding, I have nothing to compare and I guess I'm lucky like that.
It's good to see you on your feet and recovering the way that you are. Get well soon!

Wow, I was about to ask why didn't become some sort of Super Villain. :ouch::nervous:

Scars. Man, where to begin? Scars are the roadmap of your life experiences etched forever on your skin. Let me tell you how I got my scars...

When I got back from Nam I just wanted to be left alone so I hitchhiked up to the Pacific Northwest. Some sheriff hassled me for no good reason and threw me in jail, so I busted out and headed into the woods. His deputies chased me but I was a former green beret, so they didn’t stand a chance. They tried to get my Colonel to talk me into turning myself in but I wasn’t coming in voluntarily...Oh wait a minute, hold up, never mind, that was Rambo: First Blood. Sorry about wasting 45 seconds of your life!

Broke my back 20 years ago. Very, very lucky to walk. But I still have some muscles in the back of my legs that are not 100%. More like 1%.

Had to re-learn how to walk.
Holy crap CB, I can imagine what you must have gone through!

Haha...that would be very entertaining for the staff here....hmmmm
They got thrown out before I had a chance to keep them :(

Nah.....I’ve already layed down the charm and have them eating from my hand!

You bet I will be, sooner than later :)

That was a little creepy Big Time Dave!

I was given the go ahead today to transfer from bed to walker to wheelchair/toilet without supervision, as long as I feel ok. Certainly won’t be taking any chances though, but super happy they have the confidence in me to allow me to do that. Also stood today with equal weight on both legs, as much as I’m allowed to do, without any pressure on the walker. I never thought I would be at this stage today ( 7weeks today), and physio told me they have never seen someone my age progress like I have, nice words to hear.
As you guys have brought up scars, it leaves me no choice but to show you my big guy!

I have to admit Steve, I'm a bit jealous that you're in recovery and doing so well. My hope is that I don't have to wait too long for surgery, so I can get caught up to you. Saw my pain management Doctor yesterday and was given a second recommendation for fusion surgery. So, hopefully the multiple recommendations will motivate my surgeon to schedule soon.

You sure are strong for an old bugger. You remind me of me. I've always recovered extremely fast from whatever. Must be tiger blood.

And BTW, pretty neat scar there bro. That should heal quite nicely. But now that I've seen you bum I can't unsee it. :)

I had two hernia surgeries in six months when I lived in NM. I kept the little sockies with rubber traction strips, because I lived in a place with faux wood floors that could be cold and hard. Those socks were great!

Naw, man, this is Lobanero Lounge - let it all out!!!! Wouldn't have it any other way.

I bet you can eat things that would make a billy goat puke.

Yea,I'm gonna start keeping those booties for at home, they do have good traction.
Dave, totally what Sean says above. Trash talking and ribbing your buddies here is a big part of the Lounge. When Mike and I decided to run our own league, that had to be a part of it because we were going to be a couple of the worst offenders, well, Mike more than me of course. The other big part was good clean racing. There are a few here that don't say much and just get entertained by the banter, which is fine as well. All are pre warned that its not the most politically correct place and the language may be a tad blue once in awhile! Then there's Alex, oh, did I just type that out loud
Anyways, carry on as usual Dave,

Ouch. If I had feelings that would have really hurt. Lol!!!:cheers:

I know it is more satisfactory to build your own thing, but there is a SNAIL discount code for this one.....

View attachment 755379
Re the Buttkicker Gamer 2 discount code, don't know if I missed it but can someone post a link to the relevant SNAIL thread or source for me to check and see/ask if the discount code is still available and/or until when it will be available?

It may be expired David. I know it's not a standing offer, and comes and goes. I made sure to strike while the iron was hot last time the discount was announced. I asked if anyone has information about it in the SNAIL thread for you. Stay tuned.

I think the saying goes..
If you have nothing nice to say, you're in the right place?

I'll post all the crappola this afternoon. A will drive the V-8 Supercar, B will be in the Ginetta GT-4 at Bathurst.
Is it only me or does anyone else find the Ginetta G55 GT4 feels like driving on butter through corners? And this is driving with Softs eh.

BTW, Tick Toc.

Ya, that's the challenge, not every car in the game or our Lounge is as sticky as molasses, sometimes peanut butter slippery is called for. Drive accordingly, that's all.

Bathurst......... yes, there will be some sort of weather........and you will like it.
Each race will be 12 laps.

IMG_0604.JPG

A........... will drive this little beauty Ford V-8 Stupercar with 25 liters in the tank to start.

B......will drive the peanut butter poo poo ka ka Ginetta GT-4 with 20 liters to start.
