... and I cannot for the life of me understand how you guys are full wood up the hill at Woodland. Are you not spinning the tires as the car crests? No matter how straight I have the steering, if I'm full throttle in 2nd gear there, the tires light up as I crest the hill and the car is basically uncontrollable unless I lift approaching the top of the hill. :banghead:
For me, third gear, go towards the interior, full throttle. I know I'm not the quickest so you can get more opinions.

Also, for the replay, here

I put 2 replays in there, idk which is which.

I'm a little discouraged in how slow I am compared to everyone else.
I have steering Assistance and braking assistance turned off, does this make a difference?
Is this what everyone else has set? Is there something I'm not setting to make the car more stable?

It seems if I take any turns faster that I see cars taking them, I'd be spinning off the track.

Also in my ten years of racing in SCCA I think I had one incident of car to car contact.
Last night I was constantly pushed out of the way on passes by other cars (bump and run) that I passed after they were incidents. I was hoping to have a much cleaner race experience.

That's what I have set.

So far in my few days of experience, I find that if you turn too much with whatever car you have, it will spin out, unless it's a hairpin. With my wheel calibrated to 360°, I turn no more than 90° unless it's a hairpin, so maybe that's the problem?

First off, I am extremely excited to see a solid field last night. :) This series hasn't seen a field like that since about June. Going in the right direction we are...

Secondly, this game is hard. I struggle with consistency and finding speed too. I've never used any of the "game aids" so I really cannot comment on them. All I know is it's mostly in my hands and mind because there are guys much faster than I who use nearly the identical settings. I'll be hosting practice again Saturday for those who are looking to learn as well as turn laps.

Last, but absolutely not least. This is a SNAIL series, which means we are all EXPECTED to utilize good racecraft. I'm not asking for respectable racecraft, I'm demanding it. The link to the SNAIL OLR is in the OP for those who need to review. I understand things happen and people make mistakes, but there's a respectful way to handle those incidents in the race. Furthermore, in order for this series to run smooth and professionally, we will need a more formal incident process. Every system needs checks and balances and it can be expected that this series will eventually include an incident reporting process similar to that used in the Sunday Series.

I will be reviewing all of last nights races this week. If there are any concerns regarding on-track situations they should be directed toward myself privately, and not within this thread. This policy (as well as not talking about incidents in the lobby on race night) is a SNAIL standard and is expected to be respected.

@Vitessekid - I just downloaded the 2 files - How would i go about putting them on my PS4 to watch? Just put on a USB stick and save to PS4? I've never done it with Megaupload.

@SCCARACER36 - Let me know when you have free time, i'd like to work with you on getting you up to speed in-game wise. You have the RL experience :)

@Lessen - Since i couldnt save ANY replays last night for some reason, it never prompt me to the finishing screen, always just went back to the lobby. I did the Share/Save on the 3rd race, but it was already at lap 11, and the incident above had already happened.
I was also looking to hook you up with a few quick laps to see how i was taking the uphill section, ect. I'll keep you updated in the next few days.

Put that on a USB Stick, but you must create a PS4 folder, then a SAVEDATA folder then extract the 63bab2431cee67da folder there. So the path should look like this:

Then plug the USB stick in, go to settings, the saved data blabla thing, USB Storage something, then copy to internal storage.

Btw, what megaupload are you talking abt? It's been dead for years now.

I'm right there with you @Lessen,I was several seconds off the pace last night, had fun the first race and tried my best to stay out of the way but I couldn't keep the Ford on the track and got frustrated and gave up,it's almost embarrassing but I'll keep trying

Yes, please. :) It feels very good when you make progress in this game. I found 1.5 seconds at Snetterton last night compared to practice in Saturday. It has already been mentioned, but worth repeating... Cars that have oversteer qualities require a bit of patience when re-applying throttle. Too much steering input will cause the rear to come around quite swiftly.

This happens once in a while, just RESTART the PS4, and click to watch the replay and you should be fine.

Tried that. Even reinstalled the game. It still crashes when I try to watch replays. I came home today to my ps4 not responding. Something goofy must have happens while I was away at work. I had to force shutdown. I'm wondering if I need to reinitialize...

@Lessen once you are done analysing the incident, will you be posting who was in the wrong on the thread or will it be addressed by PM?

Well, IF I can even review the races; my intention was to just get an idea of all the happenings from a stewards point of view and just give a very general overview of the night only because of the discussions that had been brought up. Any specific incidents will always be discussed in private with all involved parties.

@Vitessekid I tried what you said, but it keeps saying "No Media found". Anyone else try this to confirm if im doing something wrong?

@Lessen Could be a corrupt replay not saving right. That one replay might be able to be watched, try another one and see if it works then. - Thats why im trying to get VIT's replay to work.

@Lessen - When does everyone have to Vote on the new combo's till?
As for those of you not voting, may i inquire as to why not? If we can make it easier to vote let us know. More votes the better, as you see only about 4 people have been voting.

@irmopars - Voting is always open until midnight EST Friday. Since I'm typically sleeping at that time the form will usually be "open" until the morning. However, any votes that comes in after midnight will not be accepted. This has not yet happend, but just putting it out there if somebody happens to be up late and thinks to submit past the cutoff. It would be accepted by Google, but then rejected by me in the morning when I compile and report results.

We actually have 5 votes in so far this week. But, like Mopar said, the more the merrier guys! Never really know how it's going to turn out and it's gone to tie-breaker the last two weeks. I don't think I can make it any easier, but I would like to make it more interactive, with prize winners actually getting to choose the options available. That would be fun I think, but we need two divisions to make that happen. If our headcount gets to 12-14+ every week, then we can look at two full-time divisions and begin awarding prizes.

On a personal note - I got my replays working. I did the "quick" initialization. Then I had to download the game AGAIN... but it worked an everything is viewable now. Yay! :D

I don't know what it is but there's somethin
I'm a little discouraged in how slow I am compared to everyone else.

Racer, I never used those assists but it's very, very possible that it slows you down. Why? Because you're not braking when you want but when the AI decides and you're not steering as you want but how the AI does.

Car control, forget everything you learned with Granturismo.

Since that's basically the only game I've played for the past 3 years that may be a little tough

@swjaxon car control is important and the only way to improve is practice, practice and more practice. Car control is even tougher after the latest update, Ver. 7 with the tire physic change . Also as important is the Force Feedback , FFB, for your steering wheel. How are you doing with dialing in the FFB of your new wheel? Here are a few links you may find interesting. I know I am still reading and fiddling with my wheel and FFB settings.

Thanks @SGETI for the info,I have read a lot on different settings for the G29,I started with some I got off that forum but am still tweeking to my liking,it would really help if I knew what all that stuff did, that's the only downfall I see with PCars, they make tuning the wheel a little complicated

A lot of this game is like that. Little explanation of what options actually do and effects they have. From game settings to peripheral settings... There's a very large lack of live instruction with this game. Some may think this is whiney, but I think it's absurd how much testing is needed to understand this title. I had no idea that Woodland can only handle a field of 12. WTF? It's just not a natural inclination to think a racetrack with a pit road would have a field limit less than the typical lobby limit. These are the type of details (or lack ther of) that aggravate me.

Thanks for the info @SGETI,that makes things a lot clearer,I hadn't even messed with any of those settings yet:bowdown:

Update to OP. The World Road Racing Challenge series now has it's own version of the SNAIL OLR that is specific to WRC and Project Cars. Other regulations and operating procedures will also be coming down the pipeline in coming weeks, most of which should not seem out of the ordinary for those familiar with SNAIL standards.

The modifications to the SNAIL OLR are mostly references to Project Cars & WRC, but also additions or changes of detail concerning but not limited to:

Part 03: Pit Etiquette, minor verbage of part 06: Contact Concessions, complete replacement of Part 12: Ghost Cars, elimination of Part 13: Recovering from an incident: A:5:, Part 16: Qualifying & Part 17: Incident Reports.

It is expected that all drivers should become familiar with the WRC OLR ahead of the next event, especially the new part 12: Reset to Track, as it is specific to Project Cars and I have personally seen this option used.

If there are any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you. :)
