0.01 Seconds!

I still need this one as well. Is this possible in 2 player offline arcade? Else it's good to put 2 similar cars next to each other 10 metres before the finish line and accelerate equally...

Go on arcade on do a time trial.
Choose the black & white nurb car (can't think of name) and choose the Daytona speedway track.

Do about 5 laps and your have the trophy.

Reason being is coz you get a ghost car every lap so as long as you stay close to your ghost..hey presto.. Job done :)

This is how I did it first try 👍

Any good tips on how to get this trophy guys?

I won it by running in the Arcade TT mode:

Took a stock Toyota 86GT to the Autumn Mini Ring

Run your first lap at about 80% effort (so you can repeat the lap times with ease).

Match your ghost's times on laps two and three and the trophy should pop!:)

Good luck!

I had no idea that the trophy could work in TT mode. 👍

Win a race by under 0.01 seconds. I recommend the one make races. Here is a visual tutorial on the "One-Make Wonder Win" and "0.01 Seconds" Trophies. Make your way into second place. Stay behind the leader until the last straight. Pass him slowly as the finish line comes onto the map on the left. I finished with 0.007 lead.

I think a lot of you are thinking of the wrong trophy. OP is referring to the one where you have to win the race by 0.01s, not the one where you have to do 3 consecutive laps within a few tenths.

If that's the case, and you are after the trophy where you need to win by 0.01 seconds, then you can try the following:

Take a 450PP car to the Freshman Cup (National B Series)

I used a Nissan Skyline GTR R34

Re-run the Tsukuba race

Just ease ahead of the 2nd place AI as you get to the Finish line and the trophy should pop!

Good luck!

What worked for me is going into a one make race on Indy, setting the laps to one, and then using the X1(any other fast car like an LMP would work too). You come out of turn 3 in the lead, so all you have to do is slow down a bit and beat second. The races go by quick so you can have a lot of attempts in a short amount of time.

I got this one on the first Like the Wind race at Indy. I was using a LCC Rocket '07 and beat the AMG Sauber by 0.007 seconds as it approached me from the right side. Best tip would probably to use a track and vehicle that allows you to go 200+ MPH at the start/finish line. Using an LMP car (or LCC Rocket '07) at Indy would be a good bet.

This is how I got it. I used the FGT though.

Would it work in 2 player mode - it could easily be rigged then. Both use exact same cars. Park up a few metres or even closer to start line using handbrake with your car microscopicaly ahead then hit both X buttons at the exact same time. Could be done with one person?

Personally i think the best and simpler way (the one i did) it's go arcade mode > single player > single race > Indianapolis Speedway > high bhp car vs lowest difficutly IA possible.
Overtake everybody less the first and get yourself on his left side on the final straight and try to stay just few centimeters foward him (external and hood cameras can help to the trick). Then hope.
The fact you have high bhp car, give to the IA other high bhp cars, but with low difficulty they go slow and/or have car a bit less performant than yours. It took me about 5-6 tentatives.

Just popped this literally 10 minutes ago.
Jumped into the free S2000 earned from National A license and went to the Sunday Cup.
2 laps High Speed Ring, you can test driving along side the leading car keeping your nose slightly infront as you pass the finish line on first lap.
3 mins a try.
Took me 2 attempts.

Easy man , so a single race on ssr7 or X , difficulty on the easiest , get your fastest car and when you reach the finish make sure the car behind you is right against your bumper and go over The finish Like in a train connected to each other

You can also just cruise right next to the AI and just tap the gas right in front of the finish like so you get ahead with just the nose of the car.

Took me two tries

This is what I did. It took nearly an hour to match my speed with the 2nd place car but I got there in the end. The other car needs to half way alongside yours for it to work. I was really unlucky and kept getting 0.015 or 0.019 and you need 0.010 or less.

Really annoying.

I used the Pagani Huayra (anything with a very high top speed will work) and did a short race (can't remember if it was one lap, I think it was) in arcade mode at Indy. Set it on beginner difficulty to make it easier to catch the leader. When I'd get onto the final straight I'd switch to chase cam and get right next to the leading AI car, then try to get my rear bumper about a foot ahead of his as we went over the finish line. It took a few tries as the AI speeds up and slows down unpredictably, but it didn't take more than 15 minutes or so to get the trophy.

I did the Sunday Cup race on High Speed Ring with the Toyota ’86 race car. You have to keep about .6 of second behind the car in first place as you come onto the final straight, overtake him and coast to the finish just edging ahead. Managed a 0,002 second margin. Use the car exterior view looking backwards.

I did 1 lap Beginner on Daytona with the Peugeout 905 driving near the 1st place and then trying to put my bumper in front of his by a couple of centimetres. Had to do it at least 20 times but I did in the end. Something like 0.004 I think.

I did the Indy trick in Arcade and got it on the second attempt. Set it on one lap, you can easily overtake everybody by the backstretch. The real trick is getting just enough in front to get it. I won by .006

Thanks again guys, will hopefully get round to try tonight (time permitting)...

EDIT: Finally done it! Got it last night doing the Red Bull X1 Prototype in Arcade Mode. Took me a few attempts, as I kept getting 0.014, 0.011, 0.015... but eventually, I managed a 0.001! Can't get much closer than that, can you?
Thanks everybody for your help and suggestions 👍

Okay, finally got this trophy :gtpflag:

But I used the Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway instead of the Indy because Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway is shorter than Indy, thus faster to repeat.

The strategy itself is quite simple:

Use a fast car and keep trying :) After a few tries, I finally managed to get this trophy ...
