TanerasDamn damn damn damn damn damn damn!
I have been looking for the Z28 for like 10 weeks and it wouldn't pop up for me but that was my plan for a FR car, nice times man![]()
semvhuThanks, man!You wouldn't believe how long I spent trying out different configurations, tweaking the gear ratios, messing with suspension settings, etc. I was really hoping for 11's without N2O, but I just could not squeeze out that last little bit.

Maybe I should add some weight to the back to get a little more grip off the line....
Bah, I might as well stop there with the Z28. I'm disappointed that I couldn't hit 11's without spraying since Z28's are capable of 11's in the real world without breaking the bank, but I suppose those are still respectable times.
Time to find a 4WD car that no one else has tried.![]()
TanerasMaybe I am too full of myself, but I think I can get the Z28 to win both FR w/ NOS and FR without NOS... Just gotta get a hold of one.
Cobra427, I'll try and get my eclipse GT down below those timesAnd I better get my MR's lower, your right behind me.
lol... yeah heres a crappy vid....semvhu11.052 in the RX? Bah! I'm almost a half second behind.![]()

semvhuOkay, here's my first forray into this thing. I'm a GM fan, so I figured I'd start with a Camaro for my FR entry. I've no idea overall how this stands, but I know some of the other FR cars have done better.

Too bad I can't find a Buick GNX in the used car lots.I guess that thing never even shows up there. Anyway, after spending ALL freaking night on this, maybe I'll try an MR tomorrow.

bindidotDue to not being able to aquire a Ford Mustang in the used car lot it is impossible to do the classic old Ford vs. Chevy in here without going WAY over budget on the Mustangs part. Spending the 25 odd grand on a Mustang leaves next to nothing to play with.
I felt compelled however to see (off the record) how the 2 would stack up given the same mods. After playing for ages with settings of all sorts and a 100 trips down the track, here is how I got the Mustang to stack up with the Camaro's results. I wish to state clearly the Mustang DOES NOT QUALIFY in this contest, due to over-budget reasons, and this was done for curiousity reasons only.
Here are the results......
Chevy Camaro:

It would be interesting to see what some others can do with these setups with a little playing around.
semvhuInteresting concept about comparing the Camaro and the Mustang. 👍 However, you might want to spend some of that cash on the Camaro, get the same setup for yourself, and see which one you're faster with so the issue doesn't come down to different drivers. I'm quite positive I'm not the fastest dragster around.![]()
And I may do the same thing with the Mustang later tonight as well.
Given the times, I suppose you're using the new 2005 Mustang GT as opposed to the Cobra R, right? I may have to compare the '05 GT with the latest model Camaro SS in the game. I bet that would be a tight race.![]()
DRIVEN -USA-now thats cool - a drag race w/ limitations![]()
the only prob. i see for me in the rules is the oil change being figured in as part of the cost of the car $50?? - it's a maintanace issue like getting your car washed.![]()
bindidotAttention to detail, thats me...lol, I should have specifiedYes, it was the '05 I tested. You make a good point semvhu, and I'm probably not the best dragster out there either. Wiith times so close I can imagine half the people doing the same test will have the Camaro coming out on top and the other half have the Mustang. Different driving techniques/skills and setups are sure to have the 2 cars running back and forth wins. Not exactly real life, but interesting to see how the 2 cars compete in PD's eyes. 👍
TanerasMy fully tuned SVT will hit sub 10's (9.5xx to be exact) with its racing setup. I probably could get it in the 8 second club if I set it on drag settings...
letdown427Fully tuned? as in, hundreds of thousands pumped into it? erm? 30,000 real life limit. i aint no millionaire in real life.
Im sure an F1 car could get some low times too, but it costs more than 30,000.
If you got an SVT and 'fully tuned' it for under 30k however, congratulations.
