Sounds like fun, I'll have a crack.

It's a bit like this (clicky) thread of mine for GT2 isn't it?. I was thinking, could you also do a time trial on a given track, stock and tuned, the greatest difference wins?

Simple. When I didn't do it, I could only get a best time of 13.494. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with that car, but when I used crazy settings I got a better time than with settings that made sense.

Edit: And Weight Reduction Stage 1 only takes off 72 kg.

and just so nobody calles me a cheater i will tell you what i am do'n to rip half a second to a full second off my times ....

im just adding weight lol ..... i max it out at 200kg ..... for FF in the front FR in the rear MR in the rear ... but AWD you would think in the middle right? WRONG you will just get wayyyyyy slower times all in the rear will take a crap load off your times .... i can just hope taneras misses this post and i can keep my lead for a day or 2 :)

oh and if your gett'n really good traction and an ok time at 200Kg back it down till you start to loose traction then ad a few Kg

and im done for today ... gonna drag race some more but i just dont feel like limiting it to 30k right now ... maby later well maby not lol 1:24am

So you add weight to the car?

FF = Add to the front
FR = add to the back
MR = add to the back
RR = add to the back

But what do I do with the AWD? It is late and you will have to edit your post in the morning. It doesnt make sense to me.

I need more tips on how to decrease my times:
With my Nissan I cant get it below 12.418. And the times are all over the place from 12.418 -> 12.480. Does this happen for anyone else too?

no need to edit my post ... it clearly stated what to do with AWD cars .... all int he back

lol i put FWD by mistake in my post ... maby i should edit

that depends on if your use'n auto or manual .... manual i get times on my subaru from 9.751 to 9.890 with a manual but auto its pretty much allways the same depending on how you use nitro ... i just hold it from the start to the end lol talk about a blown engine in real life ... sitt'n there wait'n to go full throttle with nitro spray'n

Personally I think NOS should not be allowed, it takes the art out of Tuning a car. NOS can make a badly tuned car awesome.

I think this competition should be ran the way it is but without NOS, then the better Tuners/Drivers will slowely come out on top.

well you see thats kinda why we have a nos and no nos section ...and if you think it takes away then well we cant help you other than to say dont use nos not our problem

and if it is a badly tuned car then it will be at the bottom of the list quickly so dont worry there ... well unless its your car caus ethats the only reason i could see why you could be mad we allow nitro ... yet you havent even entered a car

my 94 STI doesnt have it.....but my 00 does and no need for the ! .... nobody accused you of anything so there is no need to get upset

Yes your right, NOS can make a badly tuned car run awesome, BUT NOS can make a well tuned car run even better.....so its still down to the tuning and since everyone is allowed to use the NOS, everyone is on equal footing IMHO.

I'm not going to bother to argue and try explain my point of view better, as it will just be slagged on by everyone.

thats because you have nothing to back up your complaint ... if Nos can make a bad car good it can and does make a good car better ....

a badly tuned RX-7 with nos will get a good time .. a well tuned RX-7 with nos will get a great time....

its like comparing a skinny guy and a track runner in a 100m dash ... the skinny guy will allways loose unless he puts some effort in himself... same with cars put some effort in your tuning and you will win no effort = no win

and as i said before quit whining and just race in the no nos catigorys if you cant handle nos not our problem and we dont need people filling the thread with crys and whines ... if you got a car submit it if you got a whine hold it in

Eastley, for what it's worth I wasnt trying to slag you or argue, it was merely giving my opinion on the matter. Probably best not to air your point of view on here if you dont wish others to rebut or comment on what you have said.....its a forum remember. :)

BTW Cobra427, good analogy 👍

Basically I think it's better to test a cars real pefromance without the upgrade of NOS, that way it's the way they do IRL, for production cars anyway. I'm kind of a OLD SCHOOL racer (although i'm only 22). I love the old muscle cars with pure engine grunt/muscle without all these electronic stuff thats in cars these days. The feel of a old Muscle going 300 km/h is much better than these new cars that sound kind of tinny. Although you can install NOS on a old muscle car I would rather keep them the weay they were built.

Thats just my opinion.

Wow, this is a fun concept.

I was up until 3am last night running 1/4 miles. So far, my best is in a Mercury Cougar XR-7 at around 12:605. I won't post full details until I get under 12:250 (no point).

But BOY did I have fun. I bought 9 different FR cars trying to get some good 1/4 mile speeds out of 'em. Nothing beats good old fashioned muscle for me. :)

then once again just run in the no nos ....

but i have to agree with you i am old school too... i LOVE classic muscle... i used to have a 1968 or 69 Datsun pickup with a rocket88 and a turbo 350 tranny..... if you dont know thats an olds version 350 V8..... man that thing was nasty .. but had to move and didnt have room :(

hell i have a 1983 stang with a 2.3L 4 cyl in it .... i have the equipment and then computer to put a 302V8 fuel injected in it but i dont like computers .... and i didnt put a frigg'n 5 inch cowel hood on it for a fuel injector ... can you say Highrise dual 4bbl :)

but still thats no reason for me to hate not ... granted i would NEVER used it IRL ... i love my cars too much and that crap will wear an engine quick ... i see no reason not to use it in a game that provides it for a hefty price .... take a look at the FR comp ... with some good tuning those non Nos could catch up with the Nos users .....

even tho on the lost it says there is a 10 second FR in no nos ... its in the wrong list

"that way it's the way they do IRL" dude they use nos IRL in drag races .... if you mean streat cars then well your in for a surprise you know how many street cars ive seen pack'n a bottle of Nos? way too many

i wish i could make vids... best i can do is a incredibly low quality gif from my camera ... but you cant even see the car half the time and it wont work on this pc :/

i paniced when i got my sub 10 ... i thought i had the wrong car then when i checked my records for it it was the right one ... i was go'n crazy lol
