wait ive read the first page and havent read the rest so im not sure if anyone else said this but if you run bspec then nitrous doesnt matter! its just a waste of 5gs cause the b-spec driver cant use it if you pay attention to the b-spec guages then youll see there is no nitrous guage

Read the first post again. You can't even B-Spec the drag strip anyway.

I'm gunna grab a Cobra R from the used lot for like $24,000 and see what I can pull, since that car runs 12s stock...
 
Well NOS is NOT explosive... in GT4, so who cares as long as people post Nos time compared with non-nos time

The R I bought was 42K, but I didn't even blink an eye buying it since you don't see it often. Fully tuned I got it running 9.7. I didn't screw with its settings though, prolly could get it down to 9.4ish.

And about the whole NOS things... Why is it even a debate? Its an option on GT4, why not use it on the strip? I understand not using it during races, since its never allowed. But on the strip, cars spraying is not an odd site. I've been to many drag strips in my short 20 year old life, and I've seen many nitrous setups, some ranging up to 250hp. And guess what, there are some that are higher then 250. So stop complaining about the 100hp shot, it could easily be higher... Either use it, or get slow times.
 
I have desided to put together some sort of a list or leader board for the drags. Its pretty crude but i hope it helps someone to know where they stand. I will continue to update untill someone posts a better list.

im at the used car lot looking at a 1994 imprezza sedan wrx sti with less mileage... 37351.8 for 13,890C ........

the powerband isnt too great i modded my car same as yours but it came too 33k and best i can get is 10.366 with alot of tuning and the car struggles to take off in 2nd

I've run a 11.94 in my Evo, the 12.080 was my first time. And also my CRX didn't have nitrous so it should go in the no N2O category.

Now this will sound stupid, ummmmmm because it is.....I totally overlooked setting my NOS to 100 on that run. :banghead: Now I have it set at 100 and I still have my transmission settings at auto-set 11 but have now adjusted 1st gear to 3.00:1 so now my time stands at......10.791

I have alot of work to beat or tie that low 10 of Taneras and I likely can't do it, but I shall try and I will see what I can do without taking the easy way out and copying his recipe. Good work Taneras. 👍

(I've never installed NOS on any car, RL or VR. And I'm not about to start)

This car has a huge power band and slow shifting, so the trick is to finish in 3rd gear only shifting twice (ie. wiiiide gears). Raise the ride height to max and put 200kg over the rear axle.

Thats why, yours has less milage. The one I bought has over 10,000 more miles on it, thats why its cheaper.

Look at bindidot on post 86. He has the same car I do, its a 94 impreza sedan wrx sti for 9722.

If the powerband sucks on it why are you running 10's? And if its struggling in 2nd, you need to adjust your tranny, suspension, and limited slip. Mine would drop down to 2,500rpm (I think it was around there) and soar upwards after that.

Thanks, the only difference is your stage 2. I traded a stage 2 turbo for a stage 1, racing flywheel, twin plate clutch, sports exhaust, racing chip, and sports intercooler. Do that and you'll be hitting 10.3's, and with some setting changes you should be down to around my time ;)
 
To the people questioning how much someone bought a particular car for, the car lot changes on a regular basis (like every 5 days or so). Sometimes you can find a really cheap, powerful car in the lots, such as the STI's for under $10k.

IIRC, the lot repeats itself every 700 days, with the black cars coming in at 694 days.

And no, the black cars can't be bought for less than $30k. :crazy:
