Just like I thought, the color looks better in 480p, but the resolution in 1080i is better. It just depends on what the users likes more; better color or better sharpness.

That pic looks possibily replay mode or photo mode. Anyways, its pretty close to that quality.

I can't confirm that about the track in the vid.

for sure it's le mans track and not the nurburgring , because you can see in the middle of the road the white line ( none of that on the nurburgring...)
it seems to be on the "hunaudieres" strait line , which is an open road all the year except for 24 hours race ( that's why there are white lines )
so , it's seems to be the first shoot of "le mans" in GT4 ever seen 👍 👍

sounds like Polyphony Digital decreased the colour bit depth to achieve 1080i; this is quite understandable.

No, you get better color with progressive output because of the increased color separation over interlace.
