Who took them? Tell them to take some ingame shots cobra. 👍

If GT4 does output to HDTV format, will it work on a Viewsonic VP201b (which does 720p)? Im aware that it may or may not support true 480p or 1080i; perhaps the game will convert it up? It would be nice if I could have both my PC and PS2 on the same monitor.

If the 1080i is the real deal it will look WORLDS better in every aspect than 480p on a professionally calibrated display.

I can't wait for the US release!

I see there is a new track in the pic with the Civic, have you got a trackname?
What's about this "track with no name" ? Maybe Kashiwa ?

that track looks like a variation of MotorSport Land... I remember reading about a MotorSport Land2, but I just thought it was reverse.

GT4 supports 480p and 1080i?!?! how? I thought PS2 wasn't capable of 1080i without major performance hits. I also recall pd saying GT4 won't do progressive scan because many visual effects wouldv'e needed to b removed

I think PD made that statement before they discovered new way of rendering the game, which allowed for many before unbelievable achievements like the inclusion of the ring.

if i buy a videocapture card. can i run it at that high rez on my monitor?

You have to to buy a card with an input that processes 1080i. I doubt there is one. There are several cards with a YUV-IN for 480i and 480p, but not for 1080i (i.e. this one: http://www.spatz-tech.de/immersive/holo3dgraph2.htm ). And you would need an ultra powerful PC to record a 1080i video. I think even the currently fastest one available would not do.

Edit:
I just noticed the upgrade for the linked PCI-card which has inputs for 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i. But the card is not worth the price. Even not in America where it is much cheaper.

i just want something to play gt4 through my monitor... but i guess since 1080i isnt supported by any capture cards, i'll have to deal with 480.

No problem. If the game features native 480p, buy a PS2 YUV cable and a converter for transcoding the signal from yuv color space into RGB color space (=VGA or RGB HV). Then connect the converter with a standard VGA cable to your monitor. That´s it.

Recording videos is a different story...
