Getting a new TV next week (1080p full HD) and was wondering which setting is the best for playing GT5?
Thanks,
Willem
Thanks,

You lose 10-15 FPS on a 1080p TV, compared to the 720p
Biggest thing you guys are missing is the beauty of Plasma. LCD/LED just aren't as crisp and spot-on with the colors and contrast. 1080p Plasma has meing every time I play.

+1... I wasn't going to start that discussion here tho. lol.
Absolutely not....
But then a lot of plasma screens suffer from being as reflective as a mirror which looks horrible![]()
So modern Plasma TV's do not have burn in?
You'd really have to murder the TV to get burn-in. There's some image retention that goes away after a few seconds, but it's no problem at all, and nigh unnoticeable except on a pure black screen.
Not sure what you guys mean by "abuse" "murder". I researched years ago on Plasma for gaming and pretty much all signs lead to not going with Plasma for serious gaming or PC monitor use. The chance of it happening was enough to get me to only buy LCD. This was like in 2005 when i did the research when i got my first HDTV, 26"![]()
People love to spread myths and rumors.
Plasmas are the best choice for gaming... low input lag, awesome refresh rates, awesome black levels and color accuracy.
I have seen burn-in on my own eyes on the flag ship of Panasonic 3D plasma TV set, Panasonic VIERA TX-P50VT20E. Until we have an option to turn the HUD off, I wouldn't recommend to select plasma over LCD for playing GT5. Another negative feature of plasma technology is phosphor trailing which led me to surrender to plasma completely. This issue was also seen on TX-P50VT20E, although not to often as on cheaper TVs.
