Really? Is the auto in it that good or is the car not suited to a manual?
Bit of both, I guess. It's probably the best auto I've driven (it's also in the XFR and XFR-S) and you've got your copper-flappies behind the wheel to pick your ratios - and every time you pull one it dumps all the fuel into the exhaust and goes "gargleBANG".

A third pedal for childishness wouldn't be inappropriate, but I didn't really miss it in that application.

Have you driven the bimmer 8 speeds? I haven't driven a jag but the 8 speed in the X3 is very good, shifts fast and just when you want it. I the jag is better than that then it must be great. I bet you can still have quite a bit of childishness even without a third pedal

I'd buy a used Jaguar XK Convertible for £38k:

And keep the change for other runarounds and fuel bills.

A Rolls Royce at £30k. I'd probably save the rest for maintenance and running costs.

Or if I wanted something to scare the crap out of me every time I drove it:

Ariel Atom :D

Or if I wanted something practical to use as a Daily Driver:

Bimmer 3 Series. Not to flashy, but not boring either. Perfect DD.

No offense, but a 320d Auto?
It should've at least been a 335d if you wanted a diesel!

But, everyone is entitled to an opinion; so if you want a 320d Auto, it is your opinion.

These can be had for just under $120,000, though there would be little left the the dreaded running and maintenance costs

Wow, that's kinda a toughie. I mean, I maybe limited to convertibles (although, I prefer coupes), but with 120k, there's a lot to choose from and I love getting questions like this.

I need some time to think.

EDIT: Decided with this Silver Audi V10 Spyder. If I'm going to blow 120k on one measly car and as a daily driver, then I think this would work for me.

I'd definitely have to go with the (991) Porsche 911 Carrera 4 with PDK, PASM, roof-rack and a few other techno goodies that keep my butt and hands warm in the winter. Why not have the best car for all times of the year, and still be able to track it when you want?

If I lived in US, my choice would be Corvette C6 ZR-1.

But if I have to drive it in my country, I won't afford the toll for this engine.
So I need a car from a local dealer.
And my choice is... Audi RS4 Avant (3,663,000 rub = ~$120,000).

Did you miss Famines post above yours?
Please people read the OP first.

Ah, sorry. That should be mentioned in the thread name, not only the OP.
BMW M3 Cabrio (E93) then. :)
3,588,000 rub = ~$112,000

This. A Viper RT/10 :)👍

Or:
I have one of those sitting in my real life garage right now. MANY engine, suspension, and body mods with over 650 hp. No joke. You can see pics of it in this thread. Amazing car and so fast!

While I have always loved those cars, they are VERY VERY expensive to maintain. Nothing is cheap on this car at all.

:drool::drool::drool::drool:

OMG I envy you sooo much right now...

Just curious... could you describe that "VERY VERY expensive" thing???? 💡

Just a reminder its not my car. Its my neighbors sons car.

As I said, everything on those cars is expensive. Call and price just about anything on a Viper and its not cheap at all. But if you can afford a Viper, then I guess the expensive items might not matter.

Tesla S or a Porsche 991 S with an aerokit Cup
I'll have to go with this myself also.

The Tesla Model S is not a convertible.
Oops. :O

Re-read the OP again and I forgot about the convertible thing.

No convertibles for me. I'm absolutely not interested in convertibles, so forget my previous post. :D
