2.02 Chase Camera Change - Now Dynamic

I couldn't tell a difference but I never use chase except when I want to hear how great the Lancia's exhaust sounds...

Good snapshot, no? :D

I don't get it, whats happening?

That's completely ruined the chase view, for those that used it all the time at least anyway. Made me feel motion sick. Was looking forward to the next DLC pack but i don't think i'll be bothering with the game until that's sorted with another update!

I crashed into barrier and in the same time I pause the game... So driver's head has moved and when I came back to GT5 I saw this... sorry for my bad english :guilty:

edit: btw. it's looks really impressive for me..

I have been playing gt since number one and have loved every minute, i have done a few thousand laps on-line and have loved doing so, you could say i know the game :) however since this latest update playing the game is making me feel sick.....physically sick, i suffer with vertigo and have done for a while and never thought this game would make me feel the way i am now. The movement racing outside the car makes me feel ill :ill:.

So does anyone else here feel the same way since this last update?
sensible responses please.

It's growing on me now, but the problem I have is:

A. Some turns, there's a really slight but noticeable jump/skip somewhere. I can't tell if it's the car jumping a couple pixels to the side in relation to the camera or the track itself. I'm sure this will get fixed though.

B. I like that the camera moves around, in relation to the track and bumps and such, but I'm used to gauging my handling and judging my corner angle/suspension movement by judging the car in relation to the track. Now, it's a little bit more difficult to judge a corner angle when the camera is ALWAYS dead behind the rear bumper.

Also, I'm curious to see if the camera goes upside down if you flip at Trial Mountain....

I have to agree with the sickness feeling of this view. Maybe they could decrease the shaking a bit.

Edit: On Daytona you can see what PD was trying to accomplish. Once you hit the severe banking, you'll realize it.

Do you play in 3rd person view? They changed the chase cam to be more dynamic, which apparently means it moves around more when your car tilts around, which may be triggering your vertigo.

As the guys above suggested, see a doctor about it.

Yeah i think its that chase cam. I dont get motion sickness, but i could so how you could with that camera. Have seen a few posts about this on here

responses from grown ups please.

I can call my wife who's a RN but she'd probably tell you to go to the doctor too.

Seriously, go to the doctor if you are sick to your stomach from a video game.

Hope that this isn't a troll thread.

I understand how you feel and your not alone. This is motion sickness. I felt a little odd initially with the chase cam view myself. I don't have vertigo, use to do lots of track days on my old CBR1000RR and was in the Navy. Never had an issue with feeling naseous due to motion or that car sickness some people get. I did get over it after a while of playing and adjusting to the new camera view but believe me when I say you are not alone.

If you feel like you are going to pass out, or you start getting bad headaches then stop. Change the camera view for now. That stops the movement that's bothering you. Chase Cam was my favorite view too. In any event, there is a thread going on about this. Check for the Chase Camera Thread.

Ok i have had this for years and am aware of the problems that go along with it, I am just pointing out that the problem i have playing gt only started after the update, if i have to stop playing i will be gutted big time, maybe extra medication is the way to go, i just hope that not too many people will get effected by the changes.

hopefully if enough people mention the same concerns as you and many others have expressed, PD will update the chase cam and possibly give an option to choose whether you'd like it to be Dynamic or not.

I feel like even if one person mentioned this PD should take action

your all missing the point..ii asked if we could turn it off, not if you all liked it.

its a terrible camera view, i would understand if this was in cockpit view so it adds to realism but outside view? why?

Yea didn't realize that sorry. To answer your question, I think it would be a good idea to have it as an option in the very least. Changing something without at least putting it in the notes is kind of odd.

I just put 45min on the Nurburgring, the nausea is starting to go away and I'm starting to like it. This morning I almost lost my breakfast. Put the driving line on it will help you acclimate faster. Once you get used to it, its much more immersive.

What camera you use the most? I found my way with the hood cam. I would like to use dashboard view more often but the tilting can be very annoying even if you don't suffer vertigo. I can't use that view more than 3 laps then I came back to the hood because my eyes hurts.

In my humble opinion, this new cam looks amazing. I'm loving every single aspect of it, because if you compare it to other chase cams in other games, this one feels more natural. In games like NFS and Froza, the camera is to loose and it moves in a very erratic way, making it very difficult to judge overtakes or how you hit the apex.

I use chase cam a lot with standards, so this is very welcomed.

I've read that some describe it like GTA4 "drunk cam" which for some strange reason it is kind of true :D (though not that extreme).

NOTE FOR PD: In the next update include an on/off option for the dynamic chase cam, so that the people who get sick can play. But don't take it out since some of us really like it.

no no no NO NO NO NO.
Gawd, the one thing i HATE about forza has now been added to GT5. great.
There had better be a way to turn it the heck off, because i want no part of it.

Glad i'm not the only one not liking this , never experienced any form of motion sickness in my life .
not on my motorcycles not in any of my cars , not even in my old truck ( for you europeans who know anything about trucks it was a renault magnum wich had the reputation of had the worse case of people getting sick in from any trucks )

but chase cam now is 2 races and i need a break :(
