Just for arguments sake, What does your ford gt(no stripe) run on a black screen launch?

Yeah there is no way i'm taking a video for 40 + cars

Its was a pain in the ass enough to re-run them all and take pictures for 2.08 ...

the community was always good at policing itself. we know when a time is BS, a video of the aids screen is not necessary

The only way to make sure of legit times is to level the playing field. That means either everything goes, or careful documentation of a time. Anywhere in between and things will go well for a while, then someone pulls a time .010 faster than anyone else and people wonder why.


I'd rather have a small leaderboard that I'm sure is legit than spend 2+ hours trying to chase a top time that was glitched.

You hold the gas down right after you start the 1/4 mile test, during the "black screen".

I like this since you don't have to spend time trying to time the engine right when launching...

Isn't that the point of a leaderboard? To compare tunes?

If that was the only point we'd all need to run auto trans with black screen launch. The ability to drive the tune to its full potential is also part of it, 2 people with the exact same car and time may run different times on manual transmission, take the cuda for example, times can vary a lot if you don't get the shifting right.

When you are ready to make your run, you hold down throttle when the map is loading(black screen) keep holding till you finish your run. Your car will always launch the same way. You never lift off the throttle during the 3 2 1 animation.

A video is tedious to commit to, and I know multiple persons will not appreciate the work that they have to do just to show 1 time.

Why don't we just have it the way we have it before? If its something we doubt, then we will hunt it down .

A black screen launch is ALOT slower than a timed launch(depending on car) but it's 100% consistant.

Yeah, this is the best way,

For the record I have 2 retroed cars on the other board as do many others but my non retro times were also posted there too with straight up second gear launches...those are the ones ill submit.

But isn't a transmission part of a tune? We're not just comparing suspension. Shifting is part of a tune as it is a skill.

Yeah, I just meant to directly compare tunes that are finished running them in auto takes the driver out of the equation so it's purely tune vs tune....and that's not the whole point of the leaderboard.

Pretty good 👍 with the extra 5 hp you'd ptobably be in the 9.08x region on a black screen launch. I had one 2 hp down and improved .010 after I got one with full hp.

Yup, I'll be on the lookout, all my other GTs are low miles, the No Stripe is the fastest right.

Also most of the time I get my fastest times once in a while with amazing shifting. I don't think I or other people will be able to have a camera every single time and what if they can't get that time again. I say pictures are fine. It wasn't an issue before.

So no timed launches either ? Timed isn't a cheat, just a way to get the car to launch at a reasonable rpm rather than bouncing off a limiter, not very hard to figure out. Just hit the gas at 0 so the cars engine is around 5000 rpm when launching (varies from car to car), just a little more time consuming for us. Need to get this straight first.
