ive been practicing with the 787b and it is just too hot to handle. can you switch me to the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total '10

much easier to corner with this car and it should save me some tire wear

Yeah I might go with the R10, the McLaren is just too much of a handful in the wet....

Good idea, hopefully PSN doesn't disconnect me during the race.

I hope so me too. That's my only fear. I already did a 160 minutes race at laSarthe without problems... fingers crossed 👍

the connection should be fine. Like i said before ive hosted a four hour race before without any issues

There will be rain possibility in this race?

HiJack Alert***

Hey guys, I pmd some of the guys today, I'm doing a Le mans race similar to this on saturday. Could you guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me some setup and tips on strategy via PM. I swear i wont pass your info on! In return I will obviously share any info I have on the 908 FAP

My team and i are new to online GT5 and only realised now that the online setup is WAY different to offline. Were currently doing 3:14s online (GT handling corner cutting)

Sorry for the Hi Jack guys but Im getting desperate Good luck to all!

D

So what's the final count of GT cars vs Prototypes?

And yeah, are we going to have full weather or just full time changes? ... and since Damage is on, I never did figure out, if we pit, do they repair the damage?

Light damage goes away after about a minute, heavy damage you must pit to repair.

This sounds like an interesting event! I would have loved to participate, but we'll be doing a shorter endurance on Le Sarthe on Saturday.

ive checked the weather forecast and its looking sunny for the entire event ;-)

I think that full damage is appropriate for this event. Le Mans isnt won in the first corner, anything can happen and probably will. I dont want it to be a mad rush into the first corner and everyone crashing then 16 cars having to limp back to the pits.

Any cars that are damaged and limping back to the pits will have to keep to the right handside of the track so other drivers know they are damaged.
If you see slow moving car then back off the throttle a little and give it a wide birth. The last thing you want is to hit an already damaged car and sustain damge yourself.

I still havent got the final count of cars yet but I would think that most people will be using the LMP1 cars.

This is looking to be a fantastic event!

We are running 2 separate classes right? I only see the 670pp limit for LMP, what's the pp limit for GT?

We are running both the LMP1's and the GT's class at the same 670pp. Having two seperate classes is hard and lets face it no-one will want to drive in the GT's knowing they have no chance of winning the event and earning less credit/xp. I have done testing and with all cars running anyone can win regardless of class

Hmm...
Don't know, just don't like the idea of a gt car running at a LMP pace.
Either way I'm in all the way!

To be honest all I wanted a fair and equal race with a varied line up of cars on the grid. The LMP1 cars have been de-tuned a little and the GT cars have be tuned up so that anyone can have a chance of winning. I didnt want a grid full of Audi R10's or Peugeot 908's. I know that its not 100% in keeping with the Le Mans tradition but it will make for an exciting and varied race

as it stands there are only 2 GT cars out of 16 so far

i will free up some space in my friends list when i get home tonight

So.... I'm sitting at around 3.33 lap times in the Ford GT and I'm assuming the LMP1s are in the 3.10ish range. Can I raise my PP to be more on par?

And are their any Corvettes race prepped that are premium or are they only standard?

I think the LMPs are in about the 3:20+ ish range, don't quote me on that though haha. The LMPs are probably still going to be faster at the same PP because of added downforce and torque.

Both the Race Modified Corvettes are Premium cars, very good as well :)

I need more practice sometime today I think. Is the weather going to be dynamic or fixed? Just so I know whether to do some rain running or not :P

Where do I find the race modified corvettes? I looked in the dealership under Chevy and only the ZR1 and Z06 are there. :(

you have to buy those and in the Tuning Parts & Services you can change them into RM versions :)

Tuning Parts and Services? :S

Anyway, sorry guys I've gotta pull out of this one, wont be able to make the time for this anymore...

Ah, don't I feel like an idiot, haha.

So... how in the game does a race modified street car perform compared to race built race cars? (RM Corvette vs. Ford GT LM Car)

Ive been having some practice races online and testing with the pp level and I have to say that 670pp on all cars is perfect. I was in my Sauber C9 and was racing a RM Corvette and it was neck and neck, very close indeed.

3.33 sounds about right to me at 670pp although with this event being a four hour race there is no way you will be lapping that fast. the last four hour event I was in I set my fastest lap on lap 2 and after that couldnt get anywhere near it. Its very hard work, but then winning at Le Mans isnt ment to be easy

I wish I had a capture card so I could upload it to Youtube but heres a few pictures
