For the 2 hour Rome enduro, do you just keep racing till 2 hours is up? there's no set number of laps????? This is madness! Why have people posted times on racing-line.org?!??!?!?!?!?!?

WTF mate? :grumpy:

Yep, the checkered flag waves as soon as the counter hits zero... so if you're nearing 1:59 and have a lap or so on the competition, just stop at the start/finish line and wait til it hits zero. Then, gun it.

The best possible time is 2:00:00.000

Its really boring except that I keep trying to make the second fastest car slow down so it gets lapped a ton of times. I just slow down to a stop in front of it and sit there till cars pass it, it's like 2 or 3 laps down haha.

Note there is a number of laps entry too. So the person with the highest number of laps in the lowest time (whilst still being over 2 hours) wins. So the important bit is the number of laps you did.

wait...so what if the checkered flag waves and a comp crosses the finish right then, yet you have lapped them several times. do they win? :dunce:

Think for a second there...

The scene is Le Mans. 23hr 57'00 has passed when the lead car, 20 laps ahead of second crosses the line. It'll take him 3'30 to complete his last lap.

Do you honestly think that if the second place car crosses the line at 24hr 00'00, 20 laps down, he'll win?

The important thing is distance. In all races it's the person who completes the most distance quickest - only usually the distance is set. In the 2hr endurance races the time is set and the distance is the variable.

However, be aware that you must still cross the finish line on your last lap to complete the race - the race doesn't end on 2hr and whoever's leading automatically wins.

Where is the checkered flag?

Need I just say an obvious? GT dosen't claim to be a simluator for nothing, they wanted to give hardcore GT fans, not to mention fans of RL GT races such as the ALMS and FIA GT, etc a true feel for timed endurance races. A lot of races both GT and other leauges can last a certain number of hours. It's also a test of 'endurance' as the name implies, in RL you have to worry about a lot more besides tires such as fuel, conditions of your parts, etc, but that's an obvious.

To put it shortly becuase I would take too long to state everything out, it's there for the hardcore fans and the curious as well as far as I know. They are tough but in a sense they're worth the time becuase you start to learn the limits of you car and also yourself as time wears on. It's an 'endurance' and be luckly it's 2 hours and not 24 hours like in Germany, Belgum, France, United states and any other place where they hold 24 hours races (Spa, Zolder, Le-Mans, Sebring, Daytona etc...), more or less. Then you would have to call for help of 2 or 3 more drivers.

To close, this topic reminds me of when me and my brother did our first endurance race in GT1, SSR11 enduro. We agreed to use the Mitsbushi FTO Le-Mans edition, we took times driving it every pitstop or so and it was fun.

That's enough pointless talk from me, till later.

HA! I can see it now. 24 hours of sitting in front of my TV with urine soaked pants and black circles around my eyes! Three pizzas and a 64oz jug full of mountain dew next to me.

Lovely......
