from what i've heard so far in vids sofar, sounds are kinda overwhelming to me, i'm suprised those sounds are coming out of ps2. that Le mans vid i saw sent a chill up my spine :)
 
so we traded all this 2 player stuff which i liked for B-spec (which in reality is realy just the game playing itself). we went down from 2 player mode to no player mode. ick.
 
lol, im not looking at gtplanet anymore. i havent even gotten the game and you guys are depressing me :indiff:

I will apologise first for my post and the people it may offend, but I believe you guys will apreciate my opinion.

Here it goes:

I wrote some threads saying that KY, PD and SONY are making a joke out of you consumers by giving you what they want and not what YOU, the consumers, want.

WHY? Because they can make more money by selling the next GT game.

NOW HERE'S THE DEAL: nothing wrong with keeping a franchise going. BUT, when it gets to the point that it just becomes a joke then, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

THE VERY FIRST GT HAD MEMORY CARD BATTLES AND REPLAY FOR 2 PLAYER RACES.

You're telling me that more than 5 years later in the "amazing" GT4 these features have been taken out? When these are the main features that kept people playing GT games for years on end? And you guys still can't see what a joke YOU, the consumers, have become? YOU DECIDE WHAT FEATURES GT GAMES HAVE! You pay your money and therefor you decide. NOT THEM!!!

So many delays and milking GT series with Concept and Prologue, promising features and then removing them and now the BOMBSHELL NEWS that 2 player has become a lame arcade feature, prettymuch. Just so they can add the features later on, on another GT version and make more money from you?

And you guys still want to buy the game GT4?

JDMr32 looks like you can't see see what's going on but after you get you car and customize it and want to race it against your friend's customized car and CAN NOT DO IT?

How about when you get a great race going with a friend and want to save it for posterity and CAN'T DO IT? Nevermind you'll understand sooner or later. ;)

To everyone that flamed me when I said these things a few months back and now are moaning about GT4. I TOLD YOU SO! :) Now perhaps you'll be more wise in defending GT4 with absolute belief...

Garage battles and saveable 2 player replays are not very big expectaitons. Especially considering how they have been in GT since the beginning. If garage battles are not included for LAN or 2 player battles in the North American version, I'm certainly not picking up the game. Simple as that.
 
Maybe we'll have to wait for the online version of GT4. Then we could possibly get memory card battles and other multiplayer options like network play.

Look guys I know I'm not saying things you want to hear but truth does hurt sometimes. I just feel like after all this wait I've been conned by GT4 and I feel like if I wait again for the next version of GT to give me what I want I'll be an even bigger idiot. The only way I can see that we can stand up is not buy GT games until KY, PD and SONY listen to us and give us what WE want. Of course it's my opinion but if everyone did it you watch how quickly we'd get the features we want.

Just thinking NFSU2 now has replays. The public demanded it after NFSU. So if even a franchise like NFS and a company like EA listened to it's customers in that instance. How on earth does the GT franchise think it will get away with such antics? :crazy:

I'd definitley buy that version, as long as it has all the cars and tracks that the offline version of GT4 has. I couldn't care less if I had to sacrifice B-Spec or photo mode.

My theory is that GT4 Online will not have the Simulation mode. It will be only multiplayer. With the extra space they free up, they might be able to add a few tracks and some cars. This is just speculation on my part. I just hope it won't be $50.

I will buy both no matter what, though.
 
I really hope it won't be a 50 dollar upgrade, but just like you, I'll shell out whatever it takes ;).

If your theory is true that is, because although that's pretty bad anyway, IT'S JUST YOUR WISHFUL THINKING! You see if you buy GT4 and it did not deliver you'll buy GT Online even if that doesn't either. They could keep this going for years and maybe in 2010 we'll get a GT that does actually have "a lot of cars and tracks", "tuned 2 player and replays", "online", "damage" "B-Spec" "photo mode". Then again why would they, seems that most of you would buy anything that GT franchise dishes out, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. :dopey:
 
Well the fact of the matter is that no driving game gave me as much competition, adrenaline and fun like the memory card battles in GT3 with friends. We use to have tournaments and alsorts. The one player game only lasted for a few months but the 2 player features made it last over 2 years. We use to spend days and days tuning a car for a specific track just to get that extra hundred of a second faster and win the next competition with my friends. And I still have to this day 2 memory cards full of memorable 2 player battle replays that I will never forget and still watch.

Now after such a long wait and the beautiful game that is GT4 I will not be able to do that? That has basically ruined GT4 for me. :(

I get your point, but man! You won't be Ze game just because of those 2 features?

You must be a pessimist just seeing the weaknesses of GT4, it ain't even a weakness, would you rather have your two useless feature rather than the Nurb?

What can I say...
-Lack of Memory Card battles is a goof, and a huge one. This feature has been around for a while, and adds tons of replay value to the GT franchise. Not exactly a useless feature. Not at all.
-Lack of Online... well I think everyone got over this already. I think the best thing is to release a separate expansion disk with Online, a la GT2.
-GT4 is still a great game. Everyone who says that they will not get it is either bluffing or foolish. Try to look at the positives: Incredible 1080i graphics, Awesome new tracks, great cars, well-made physics, plethora of game modes, the game's actually out somewhere... :sly: Although negative elements really jump out at you, one can't go out and flame PD or Kaz for fraud. GT4 is flawed, but it's the best one yet, and the best of its kind. Wait for GT5, the rushed PS3 release with 150 cars and fixed features.
 
2 player mode DOES have replays... at least mine does... not sure if they're savable though.. would guess so... i found a whole heap of options which i can't read and just turned them all on.. no idea what they are... :P

still can't find memory card battle >_< even with 600+ cars to choose from.. you definately dont choose all of them to battle with friends... i mean c'mon.. who wants to battle their friend in a slow-assed car? of course you always choose the good cars...

I still miss the memory card battle. There's nothing like hooking up with your buddies with the GT saves, racing your highly tuned car of your choice against their best!
 
Oh, I don't know about that. I've raced those infernal Midget II's against my friend a few times on Autumn Ring Mini, and I've a Mini Cooper against a faster car to give the other person an advantage ( my wifes friend, who couldn't drive in a straight line with her own car, much less one on a TV screen! )

Nice to see 2 player replays, but no garage option is going to be severely missed .

sounds are very real this time around, i agree. just about the only thing PD didn't fix was transmision sound.... it still sucks. but in evry other regard... 👍 👍

to get a taste of how it should sound download the GTR demo.
tyre sound is VASTLY improved. so are engine sounds. great wind noise. etc. evrything is near perfect... but transmision sound 👎

B-Spec and Photomode JUNK? KY is trying to show you different aspects of racing/driving, not just hardcore racing.
Memory card battle not in, so what, 2-player mode is just as great, Stock vrs. Stock is more challenging than "tuned" cars.

Its funny how people why crying about backfire and how much MORE realistic and cool it would be if it was in GT4, a few confirmed pics, few days later no one cares.

If Memory card battle was in you would probaly go find something else that was bad about GT4 that upsets you in a horrific manner.

Get your head out of your ass and accept reality.
 
I am also very disappointed with no mutliplayer garage. I have run 6 player Ilink for the last three years hoping to tune and race all cars against my mates. B-spec and photo mode was a waste of Sony's time when over looking the multiplayer garage that should have been in GT3. Sony must have been hiding in a cave the last four years!
It’s a real shame, GT4 is a good game that should have been great.
 
Glad to hear you can still have 2player replays, there's nothing better than having a nip and tuck race with a friend and then sitting back and watching the replay.
Seems some of the features that made previous GT's so good have been overlooked,and the lifespan considerably shortened, i'm all for moving onward and upward but such 2player features should have kept.
 
z06camaro you are an idiot, not much more to say there, the whole community is gutted at the the Memory Card Battle being omited from GT4, but of course you know better, you get your head out your ass.

Div is back I am being rational, here is the deal, the world is heading more and more towards multiplayer rather than single player. Now, in 2 player or LAN a stock car race can only work for so long while the option to tune those vehicles is where it's at. What I want is to have my own car color, alloy wheels, spoiler and specific race tune and parts and MY CAR to race against my friend, not the standard stock version. As a result the only time I can race my near-perfection tuned car is against AI not humans. LAME!

Point is for me video games today are more about interaction with other people, as in online, LAN or 2 player. NOT BY ONE SELF, that's just old and boring.

Now for KY, PD and SONY to miss this option out when it would have not taken any time at all to include, since the code was already in GT1, GT2, GT3, it's just plain nasty. Such a move it is not an accident nor was it impossible to implement. IS IT INTENTIONATE? WHY? I can't for the life of me understand.

As for online mode, consider this. If in real life someone told you they are building a really cool car and all it's previous versions had this really cool alloy wheels and they also promised you an amasing stereo to go with the car for $10K. Then when the car is on sale you find out it has no alloy wheels, just steel ones, and the stereo is missing. Would you not be like **** T***! Put them on, then I might buy it, or at least drop the price of the car...
 
Who said 2 player battle with memory card was included before the release..?

You had in some way, false hopes.

But I understand your point, I just say that before I'll even think of playing 2 player I'll go throught the 250 + hours the simulation mode has to offer.
