Sprained knee. Ouch!

Blazers were at Miami tonight. Kept up, just until the third quarter. Wade just picked apart my team in the fourth. I'm going to go cry somewhere now. :(

We lead the game for a whole 49 seconds, and thankfully that was the LAST 49 seconds. That's all that matters. Thanks to Avery, George, Dirk, and the squad for getting the job done tonight. I honestly thought when we were down 16 that we were probably going to start jacking up shots...which happend...and at that point the game was over. Then at halftime Avery ripped them a new one and it was all over for the Bucks.

a6m5, just wait the Heat will get theirs. Detriot, Chicago, or the Wizards will pick them apart in the playoffs.

Not likely. Detroit is no longer a huge threat to us because we beat them last year, Chicago couldn't get it done either, and we swept the Warriors last time we played them in the playoffs.

I would be more happy with how talented the young guys are on the Blazers, centered around Roy the ROY. :)

That was last year. This year, they've kicked the Heat's ass everytime.

Either way, now's the time for Dallas to rest up since their next game is the Heat...at Dallas. :trouble:

You just never learn.

Wow, great statement. Got anything else intelligent to add on to that?

I know you think that doesn't matter because you seem to think the Playoffs are the only thing that matters.

But what you don't seem to be learning is that if the Heat don't start doing better and being the "champions" they are, they're going to get knocked out of the Playoffs real, real fast.

Chill, guys. You gotta learn to laugh at stuff like that. I personally thought that was pretty funny. Cocky, but funny.

Once again the Mavs win. I honestly think that they are toying with these teams. Letting them ahead until the end of the 3rd or begining of the 4th until we "wake up". 9 game winning streak. Maybe this time we can get the 3rd double digit winning streak in the same season. :sly: 👍

How is that funny when a guy is talking about how his team was so good last year beating all these teams when now his own team can't even claim 5th in it's Conference, and these they beat last year are now returning the favor, like Chicago.

Most of the good teams do do just that. How do I know? My Blazers are usually on the receiving end of it. :D

Mac, it was a one liner. Let's say he really did mean all that in his little sentence. So? I try to have some fun, trash talking, but at the end of the day, it's just basketball. ;)

Because we weren't good last year. We were 2-50 against +.500 teams or whatever lol and yet we turned it on in the playoffs and won it all. That's because the Heat is built for the post season.

Instead of that rebuttle which was...lacking in substance...why don't you specifiy WHY he "never learns"? Just a thought...

I'm not going to specify because i already had a hundred times. The season does not matter, the playoffs do. And it's hard to be a good team when you're ripe with injuries like the Heat are. It's just like the Pistons last year...they also had one of the best records in the league and did they show anything for it? No. The Heat beat them.

Wow, great statement. Got anything else intelligent to add on to that?

The playoffs are all that matter. You don't get into the hall of fame that easily without a ring, for example. If MJ didn't have his 6 rings do you still think he would be considered the best player of all time? No. He would be a great player, like Charles Barkley with his 0 rings, but he would not be the greatest of all time.

Look the Mavericks are obviously a good team, and they are doing very well, but the fact of the matter is that the Heat can still beat them because we still have Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem/James Posey, and because the situation this season is the same as it was last season. Why can't i believe the the result will be the same too?

You may be built for the Playoffs, but the thing is if the Heat don't shape up and do better, they won't make it very far in the Playoffs.

And no offense, but I really, really doubt the Heat will win this year. You guys may have won a championship, but you aren't playing like you're champions. You're playing like a mediocore team. You guys have finally tied your loss and win record. You're #8 in your divison and pratically tied with Orlando, but Chicago still has quite a few more wins over you.

So, you can think the Heat are built for the playoffs and that's the only thing that matters, but thing is that the Playoffs are 4 more months away, and there's a lot of games left for you and everyone to play, games that you'll need to really show in. Otherwise, someone else is going to knock the Heat back to 9th real fast.

McLaren, I think the Playoffs starts in late April, which would leave us with maybe couple of months.

Ok, 2 months. Either way, there's still a lot of games left to play for all teams.
When you said playoffs, you were already thinking the actual NBA Finals, weren't you? :D That would be around 4 months away.

Actually, you're probably right.

Anyways, moving on to another subject as I don't want to keep arguing with Gian since I respect him too much to keep going.

How about the All-Stars? I'm loving the weekend so far, though a bit sad how the wheelchair coverage was poorly advertised. But the celebrity game was cool, and right in the Soph's versus the Rook's, the Soph's are just dominating.

At this moment, Rook's: 95, Soph's: 138.

I'm missing tonight's contests because of work.

But, i did ask my brother in-law to TiVo it so i should watch it Sunday just before the actual All-Star game. Guess i better stay out of this thread until then, or else the whole thing will be spoiled.

Will you at least be able to catch the 3-point and Dunk Contest tonight?

Should be a treat for Mavs fans to see who can shoot 3-pointers better between Terry and Dirk.

I've got my dough on Terry out of the 2.

Hmmm...Dirk needs to settle down and take some good shots to goto the hole. I just hope he gets his minutes...

Wow...that game was really boring. Why were they playing so much defense? And there were only what, 2 successful alley oops?

I actually agree. But imho, they didn't really seem to care at the end, and would just let anyone by. Shaq though, had to have the dunk, even when he missed.

I have to say, I liked the events of Saturday a lot more than I did the game.

Seems the glory days of the All-Star game are way behind us. I can live with my Mavs players getting crap minutes and or crap numbers as long as the game itself was good. Two problems about this game:

1. It wasn't competitive 80% of the time
2. Once again it is predetermined who's getting the MVP based on which side wins

I'm sick and tired of the same old bull****, unless you are from LA or NY or some other high profile media driven city OR you are a media "star" (*see LeBron) you won't get any spotlight and or a chance to do anything. At least in the olden days I liked watching MJ, Magic, or Bird.

You think Dallas got the shaft, try Portland. :D Last true All-Star we had was Clyde the Glide. Rashweed at least made it in, but he was almost like a extra in a movie.

Rashweed got some time once he left the Blaze. lol That's gotta suck for the Blaze fans.
